Chapter 43

A few days have passed and Y/N and Nayeon haven't seen each other ever since the day that they kissed. Y/N just didn't know how to talk to Nayeon after what she did and Nayeon was expecting for Y/N to contact her, but she didn't. Y/N did tell Nayeon that day that she should text her when she's moving. So the teacher texted her just a moment ago to tell her that she's moving tomorrow. Of course Y/N said that she will come and help. She won't let the older girl move by herself, although she won't be alone. All the girls except for Jihyo and Sana will be coming to help. Jihyo is busy with work and Sana is probably doing something with her gang.

Y/N went to Nayeon's apartment and saw Tzuyu and Chaeyoung entering the building.

"Tzuyu! Chaeyoung!" She ran to them.

"Ah unnie. Will you be helping as well?" Chaeyoung asked.

"Yeah. I'm here to help."

"Of course you are." Tzuyu smirked. Y/N is so whipped for the older girl, that she would do anything.

"Where are Mina, Momo and Dahyun?" Y/N asked as they got in the elevator.

"They're already here I think." Chaeyoung answered.

"I'm so fucking tired. Why did Nayeon unnie wake me up at 6 am on a sunday aish." Tzuyu complained.

"Aah babe. I missed you." Mina kissed Chaeyoung's cheek as soon as they got out of the elevator.

"Thank God you're here, she kept whining that you're late." Momo sighed. She got annoyed by how Mina kept waiting for Chaeyoung.

"Girls, thank you for coming." Nayeon smiled when she saw the three girls in front of her. Especially Y/N. It does seem like Y/N is avoiding her though, so it makes her a bit sad.

"Oh everything is in boxes already." Tzuyu noticed.

"Yes. The only thing we need to do is bring it all downstairs, put it in the minibus I rented and then bring it to the new apartment." Nayeon explained and they all nodded. Y/N can't even look at Nayeon, she keeps playing their kissing scene in her head.

"Unnie why do you have so many stuff? Will these even fit in the bus?" Dahyun asked. Nayeon has so many stuff, that it seems like 3 people lived here. Y/N still hasn't talked to Dahyun after what happened, so she made a mental note to approach the girl later on.

"They'll fit Dahyun-ah. Don't worry about that."

"Let's just start. This might take a while." Mina said and with that they started to move the boxes downstairs.

Y/N started moving the boxes immediately. There are many boxes and if they want to finish on time, they need to speed it up a bit.

"Yah Y/N slow down. You're not leaving any boxes for us to take." Momo said. All the girls know that Y/N is a strong girl, it's in her blood after all. She's the one bringing all the heavy boxes downstairs so that the girls won't struggle.

"Yeah, you should slow it down. You might get hurt." Nayeon worried.

"Oh no it's okay. I'm used to carrying heavy things." Y/N smiled weakly and continued to move the boxes. She wants to help Nayeon as much as she can. Besides she enjoys carrying boxes. Nayeon always had many stuff, so she's not even surprised by the amount of boxes.

"Need help?" Y/N asked when she was about to go upstairs again but saw Nayeon struggling with a box.

"No, I can handle it. I'm strong." Nayeon bluffed. Yes, she is kinda strong but nothing like Y/N.

"Just give it to me." Y/N took the box from her. It was obvious that Nayeon was struggling with it, but she will never admit that.

"Thank you, but you didn't have to do that. You're already carrying most of the boxes." Nayeon smiled weakly. When they were dating Y/N never let Nayeon carry something, because she was worried that it might be too heavy for her.

"Well, Chaeyoung and Mina are nowhere to be seen, Dahyun and Momo keep playing around and Tzuyu is pretty slow so someone has to step it up or we're never gonna finish."

"I appreciate it a lot. Thank you, Y/N."

"My pleasure."

"Guys, these are the last boxes." Momo and Dahyun came from behind.

"They are? We finished faster than I thought." The teacher smiled.

"It only took us like 3 hours." Tzuyu sighed.

"We would have finished in 10 hours if it wasn't for Y/N unnie." Chaeyoung chuckled.

They emptied the entire apartment and some got in the bus while others walked to Nayeon's new apartment.

"So now we gotta empty them?" Chaeyoung asked.

"Yeah, but you guys don't have to do that. You already helped me a lot with getting them here. I can do the rest." Nayeon assured them.

"There's no way you can do that all by yourself, unnie. We'll all stay until it's finished." Momo patted Nayeon's back as the others nodded.

While everyone was just emptying the boxes and organising stuff, Y/N noticed that she's alone with Dahyun now. She wanted to say something to her all day, but didn't have the chance to, so this is her chance to talk to her now.

"I heard you and Sana unnie made up." Y/N started.

"Ah yeah, we did."

"I'm glad you did. I'm sorry Dahyun-ah. I'm sorry for not telling you, but I assure you there's nothing going on between us right now. It was all in the past. I'm ashamed of the person I was back then and I regret the things that I did. If it were now, I never would have done it." Y/N looked down.

"I can't blame you for loving her. If you had told me that you liked her, I wouldn't have said anything. I would have been sad, yes, but I wouldn't have come in between you."

"You don't mind that I dated your girlfriend?"

"No. The thing that bothers me, is that you both just lied about it." Dahyun sighed.

"But I know that right now there's no feelings involved between you two. That's why I forgave Sana unnie and it's only fair if I forgive you too." It would be unfair to forgive Sana but not Y/N.

"I really don't deserve you as my friend." Y/N shook her head. She didn't think that Dahyun was going to forgive her.

"That's why you didn't come back right? Because you think that you don't deserve us." Dahyun asked.

"How do you know that?" Y/N was taken aback.

"I can tell from your actions and the way you act." Y/N doesn't act like an asshole anymore, so it's obvious she got some sense knocked into her.

"Did you act cold to me when I came back because you already had suspicions about me and Sana unnie?" It all makes sense now. Dahyun knew it in some way.

"Partly. I was actually mostly just mad at you because you hurt Tzuyu and the girls. But I think the main reason is, because you hurt Nayeon unnie. It took her months to go back to herself. She was really a mess and seeing her like that made me mad. She always acted like everything was okay, but it was not." Dahyun explained. Hearing this, Y/N feels ashamed again. She had no idea that Nayeon was such a mess.

"Don't be sad, Y/N-ah. She's okay now. Besides seeing how you've changed makes me actually proud of you." Dahyun caressed Y/N's arm.

"There's nothing to be proud of, I still did fucked up things."

"It was in the past though. If everyone around you can move on then so should you." Dahyun suggested.

"How do I know if they moved on?" Everyone is acting somewhat okay to Y/N right now, but is it genuine? Maybe they're still mad with Y/N but acting like they're not.

"You can tell by their actions. Chaeyoung and Mina were never mad at you in the first place. Momo was mad but it disappeared when you came back. You made up with Tzuyu and she's okay with you now. I was the only one left but now I also don't have any hard feelings. So I guess everyone has moved on?"

"I think for us it's a bit easier to put it behind us, but I don't know about Nayeon unnie though. She was actually very mad at you, but right now I'm seeing none of that." Dahyun noticed how Nayeon and Y/N got close again. It looks like Nayeon forgot about everything that happened. Or maybe she's just pretending that none of it happened.

"She's probably still mad at me." Y/N sighed.

"I don't know. I do know that she's glad that you got your life together. That's all she ever wanted. Besides I can see both of your heart eyes towards each other. You love her and she loves you. It's very obvious." Dahyun chuckled.

"How can she still love me after everything I did?" Y/N finds it hard to believe that there is a possibility that Nayeon still loves her, because she hurt her a lot.

"It's called true love, Y/N. Trueeeeee love." Dahyun said with full passion. There is the extra Dahyun that Y/N loves and missed seeing.

"Yah, I'm asking you a serious question." Y/N scolded her.

"And I'm giving you a serious answer." Dahyun said winking and with that she went to Chaeyoung who was at the other side of the room.

The girls continued to empty the boxes for a few hours and before they knew it, it got 6pm. Luckily they finished almost everything.

"Aigooo, I'm so tired." Dahyun threw herself on the couch.

"Ah me tooo." Momo yawned.

"Guys, thank you all so much." Nayeon kept thanking them.

"Unnie, stop thanking us. You always help us when we need something, so we'll always help you when you need us as well." Mina smiled.

"Thanks, Mina-yah. Anyways, I'm guessing you're all hungry? Let's go eat something. I'll treat you guys." Nayeon suggested. The least she can do for them, is to get them some food. They haven't eaten for like 5 hours.

"Yeeeeeees foood." They all cheered.

"I think I should go home now." Y/N said. She does want to join them, but she's still a bit uncomfortable around Nayeon. The kissing scene just won't leave her mind.

"I'm not letting you go home hungry, Y/N. We haven't eaten for hours. So you have to join us." Nayeon raised her eyebrows. It's driving her crazy how Y/N is suddenly acting so distant now.

"Yeah, just join us. It'll be fun. Besides it's free." Momo put her hand on Y/N's shoulder.

"Fine." And with that they went to a small restaurant close to Nayeon's apartment to eat some tteokbokki.

After they all filled their stomachs, Michaeng, Dahyun and Momo left leaving only Tzuyu, Nayeon and Y/N behind.

"I can't believe they left as soon as they finished eating, aish." Y/N exclaimed.

"You know how they are when they get free food." Tzuyu mentioned.

"But anyways, I should go now too. Bye unnies." Tzuyu stood up and with that she left as well. She actually didn't have to leave, but she wanted to give the two ex-lovers some time alone.

"I'll pay then we can go as well." Nayeon said to Y/N and the younger girl just nodded. After Nayeon paid, they got out of the restaurant.

"Let me walk you home." Nayeon suddenly said.

"There's no way that's happening." Y/N chuckled as she shook her head. Y/N should be the one walking her home not vice versa.

"What? Why?" When they were dating, Nayeon tried to walk Y/N home a few times but Y/N always protested. Y/N has changed in many ways, but apparently this hasn't.

"Because you're you and I'm me. I should be the one walking you home not the other way around."

"That doesn' t make sense. I'm older, so I should take care of you and make sure you arrive safely." Nayeon informed. Nayeon just wants to act like an unnie sometimes, but Y/N doesn't let her.

"I would let you walk me home if it wasn't dark." Y/N admitted.

"So it's because it's dark that you won't let me? Why's that?"

"I'll tell you on the way to YOUR apartment." Y/N smiled as she emphasized the word "your". Nayeon wanted to protest but Y/N was already walking so she had no choice but to follow.

"You know it's really annoying that you won't let me walk you home." Nayeon informed.

"Unnie, you just moved to a new apartment and new neighbourhood. You don't know what can happen on the streets, especially in the dark. So I won't let you go back by yourself. It's dangerous."

"It's also dangerous for you to go back home by yourself."

"I literally lived in the streets and I've dealt with criminals and gangsters. I think I'll be able to handle myself." Y/N does have a point there. Nayeon won't be able to protect herself, but Y/N surely can protect both of them.

"Why were you avoiding me today?" Nayeon asked after a short silence.

"Avoiding you? I wasn't avoiding you. I talked to you many times."

"Yeah, only to ask me where to put the boxes. You didn't even look at me." The teacher remembered and Y/N just kept silent. She doesn't know what to say.

"If you're feeling guilty about what you did the other day, then don't. I don't regret that it happened." Nayeon let her know. Y/N is surprised to hear this. She didn't think that Nayeon would bring this up.

"You don't? Aren't you mad that I did that?"

"No. To be honest, I wanted to do it too at that moment. So you weren't the only one." The older girl confessed.

"Oh, that's good to know." Are you saying that Y/N was literally panicking for days for nothing?

While they were walking Nayeon suddenly slid her right hand into Y/N's hand, holding it. Y/N widened her eyes and looked at their now intertwined hands while Nayeon was just looking in front of her, acting like she didn't do anything.

"Just keep walking." Nayeon said when she realized that Y/N kept looking at their hands.

"Okay." Y/N likes this, so why complain? Her heart is literally running right now. She missed holding Ms. Im's big hands.

When they arrived at Nayeon's building Y/N walked with her until they were in front of her frontdoor. It's what she always does to make sure the older girl is safe inside.

"Thank you for everything today. You really worked hard."

"No problem. Call me if you need anything else." Y/N smiled and Nayeon nodded.

"Can I go to the bathroom real quick?" Y/N has to pee for like an hour now. She can't hold it in anymore.

"Yeah, sure. Come in."

"Thank you." And with that Y/N finally got to pee.

"You keep getting messages. You should check your phone." Nayeon said when Y/N got out of the bathroom. Y/N hasn't checked her phone all day, that's probably why she's suddenly getting so many notifications. So she decided to check it.

"No way..." Y/N widened her eyes when she opened her phone and saw the email.

"What is it?"

"I-I got the scholarship..." Y/N couldn't believe what she just read, so she zoomed in to make sure that she read it right. She knew she was going to get an email about it but she thought that it was going to be next week.

"Oh my God you did?" Nayeon asked excitedly.

"Can you read it too? To be sure?" Y/N handed her phone to Nayeon.

"Y/N, you got it. You fucking got it!" Nayeon smiled.

"Aaaaah. Oh my God." Y/N is so happy right now that without realizing she hugged Nayeon tightly lifting her up and turning her around.

"Oh sorry. I'm just very happy." Y/N put Nayeon back on the floor.

"It's okay Y/N-ah. but wait, wait. How did this happen? When did you even get that email?"

"Apparently at 1pm but I haven't checked my phone all day." Y/N smiled. She really is happy right now. She's one step closer towards her goal.

"You're really becoming a policewoman huh?" Nayeon chuckled. She just imagined how hot Y/N would look in a police uniform.

"I guess I am?"

"I'm really proud of you. You deserve it." Nayeon nodded to herself.

"Thank you unnie." Y/N answered and suddenly the bell rang. Jihyo and Sana had told Nayeon that they would come by in the evening to stay for the night so that she won't be alone on her first night in her new apartment, but Nayeon totally forgot about that.

"We're hereeeee." Sana yelled when Nayeon opened the door.

"Ooh, it already looks nice." Jihyo commented.

"Why are you still here?" Sana asked Y/N.

"Oh I was just about to leave. I just walked her home after we ate."

"Don't leave we just got here." Jihyo said.

"Why do you two look so happy though? Did something happen?" Sana noticed how both girls are smiling.

"Maybe you two did something?" Jihyo smirked.

"Yah! Why would we do something??" Nayeon really hates how her friends always make these kind of jokes when Y/N is around. It just makes it very awkward.

"Then why do you look so happy huh?" Sana smirked as well.

"Because Y/N..." Nayeon was about to tell them about Y/N getting the scholarship, but she stopped when she remembered that she's the only one that knows about it.

"Because Y/N what?" Jihyo asked.

"It's okay we can tell them. They're gonna find out soon anyways." Y/N told Nayeon.

"Find out what?" Sana asked. Y/N is actually worried about what Sana's reaction will be, but she has to tell her.

"I got a scholarship."

"Scholarship? You're going to college?" Jihyo raised her eyebrows.

"Yeah." Y/N just nodded lightly. Both teachers didn't expect this.

"What will you do?" Sana asked. She knows that Y/N isn't the kind of girl to study even though she's smart and good at it, so she was confused.

"I applied to the police academy." Y/N answered. She knows Sana will most probably freak out right now.

"Wait... What did you Say?" Sana went closer to Y/N. She must have heard wrong.

"I applied to the police academy. I will start next school year." Y/N repeated.

"Are you fucking crazy? You're joking right? This can't be true." Sana raised her voice.

"She's not joking, Sana. It's true." Nayeon informed.

"Are you seriously planning to go to the police academy? What are your intentions Choi Y/N?"

"My intention is to get justice for everyone that gets killed just like my mom. Besides I don't want to be like my dad. I want to be the exact opposite. I want to prevent other people going through the same thing that my mom did and put the bad guys in jail, where they belong."

"You're out of your mind. You know how the gang's number one rule is not to backstab them, but that's exactly what you're doing right now. You know how the police is our number one enemy." Sana pushed Y/N by her shoulders.

"Stop acting like I'm a member of that stupid gang. I was not, I am not and I never will be." Y/N is lowkey getting annoyed with how Sana keeps acting like Y/N is one of her gang members.

"You don't have to say you're a member to actually be one, Y/N. Your actions is what made everyone think that you were a member. You literally lived in our neighbourhood and you always helped the gang out but you're still saying that you're not a member huh?" Sana chuckled.

"You know very well why I lived there, stop bringing that up."

"Let's say that you do become a police officer. What do you think people will say when they find out that you're the daughter of the biggest criminal in town huh? Do you think they'll trust you? Do you think you'll be taken seriously? You have a fucking gang tattoo for God's sake!" Sana is furious. She might explode any moment. She's feeling really betrayed right now.

"I already thought about all of that. I considered everything before applying and you can't change my mind. This is my decision and I'm standing behind it." Y/N informed.

"You're fucking crazy you know that? Do you think you'll be safe when other gangs find out that you're becoming a fucking police officer? They might fucking kill you!" If she wasn't Choi Minho's daughter, Sana's gang would have probably killed her first. But since she's his daughter, they can't touch her and they have to protect her, because it's his order.

"I can protect myself. Stop trying to change my mind."

"What will you do when I do something bad huh? Or when Taehyung does something bad? Are you going to put us in jail? Do you even care about us? How can you betray us like that??" Sana continued to yell.

"I'm not fucking betraying you!"

"You can't do it. You're not going to that school and that's the end of it." Sana shook her head. Of course she doesn't want Y/N to go against her and her members. But the reason why she's mostly worried is because she knows how other gangs will go after her. Besides Y/N's father will freak out when he finds out about this. He's a psychopath, so who knows what he'll do to his own daughter.

"And who are you to tell me that? You're not my mom nor my girlfriend, so no I'm not listening to you."

"Girls, please stop arguing." Jihyo tried to stop them but of course they won't stop.

"Y/N you'll get fucking killed. So stop being a stupid ass and come to your senses!"

"It's funny how you're saying that I'll get killed when I become a police officer. Am I not going to get killed when I become a gangster? Those gangs have been after me for years now, they have never stopped. It doesn't matter if I'm a cop, a teacher, a gangster or just some supermarket employee. They will always be after me, because I'm Choi Minho's daughter. There's no escaping that, no matter what I do." Y/N is always in danger. Although she managed to protect herself until now, she'll be able to protect herself better when she gets the right training for it.

"Y/N can I ask why police academy? I mean you said you want to get justice for your mom right? Why don't you go to law school and pursue a career as a lawyer or a judge?" Jihyo asked.

"I did think about it, but I just don't like studying. Besides I want to go after bad people. I don't want to defend or just decide whether people should go to jail. I want to run after them and find them myself. My mom could have gotten justice if the police did their job right." Y/N's dad is such a big criminal, that he got away with many things by theatening the police. Everyone is scared of that man. But Y/N is not and never will be.

"Police also kill people you know that right? Don't act like gangsters are the only ones that do that." Sana raised her voice again.

"Yes, I know that. I know how they also kill innocent people or put them in jail. But I'm not planning to do that." Y/N's intentions are only good intentions. She's not planning to hurt people.

"Yeah, we'll see about that. You're acting like you're a perfect angel now aren't you? Did you forget that you hurt many people as well? Let's not mention that because of you, Jungkook's dad can't walk for the rest of his life." Sana lowered her voice and approached Y/N, now standing right in front of her. Hearing Sana mention Jungkook's dad, made Y/N angry. She's already feeling fucking guilty about that, so why would Sana suddenly mention that?

"Shut up. Don't bring that up." Y/N clenched her first. It was visible to everyone that they're both angry. Nayeon already has a feeling that this is going to go wrong. She's worried that Y/N might lose control.

"Sana, Y/N. Please stop." Nayeon tried to come in between them but the two girls are too strong.

"What are you going to do if I bring it up huh? Put me in jail?" Sana really is testing Y/N's patience right now.

"You should worry about your own life, Sana-ssi. How long do you think your relationship with Dahyun is gonna last huh? Do you think she'll still stay with you after she finds out that you're a fucking gangster?" Y/N asked but before she could even continue she got pushed onto the wall by Sana. Sana put her arm on Y/N's neck, making it hard for her to breathe. Both Nayeon and Jihyo got startled and immediately tried to stop them.

"Sana! Stop it!" Nayeon tried to pull Sana away but with no success. At this point Y/N is really struggling with breathing. Sana's eyes are really scary right now. She looks like she could kill Y/N.

"Sana, stop it!" Jihyo managed to pull Sana away from Y/N. Luckily Jihyo is as strong as a gangster can be.

"Are you fucking crazy? Do you want to kill her?" Jihyo scolded Sana who was furious. As soon as Sana got pulled away from Y/N, Y/N started coughing loudly. This all happened under a minute, but Sana really did make it hard for her to breathe.

"Y/N are you okay?" Nayeon held the younger girl and helped her sit down. The girl is still coughing, so Nayeon immediately gave her some water.

"I'm leaving. I can't stay here any longer." Sana said and left in a hurry. She might hurt Y/N if she stays here any longer.

"I'm so sorry unnie." Y/N looked down. She really feels ashamed right now. This is Nayeon's first day in her new apartment and Y/N and Sana caused a huge scene. This should have been a good day for Nayeon, but they ruined it.

"It's not your fault, Y/N. Don't worry about it." Nayeon patted Y/N's shoulder.

"I should go now." Y/N suddenly stood up.

"Are you okay? Will you be fine?" Jihyo asked.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm okay. I should just go home and rest." Y/N said and both girls nodded.

"Y/N you can also stay here. You don't look okay." Nayeon worried. Sana really pushed Y/N to the wall harshly.

"I promise, I'm okay." Y/N assured and left. She can't believe that Sana reacted that way. She did expect to get scolded, but she never would have expected to get attacked. That was just too much.
