Chapter 38

"Aaaaah." Nayeon sighed in frustration as she sat down on Jihyo's couch.

"You seem frustrated, what's going on?" Jihyo asked.

"I've been looking for an apartment for months now, why is it so hard to find one?"

"Didn't you say that Y/N send you some nice apartments? Why don't you just call her?" Sana asked. The three of them are just hanging out at Jihyo's place.

"I don't think that's a good idea." Jihyo answered.

"Why? Unnie needs an apartment and Y/N can help her." The Japanese woman raised her eyebrows.

"Yah, don't you remember what kind of mess unnie was when she broke up with Y/N? She's been doing fine without her, so she doesn't need Y/N back in her life." Nayeon just kept quiet. It's been two weeks since she saw Y/N at the office and she hasn't called Y/N back even though the girl did send her some nice apartments.

"I'm not saying that they should get back together, I'm just saying that Y/N will be able to put an end on the search for an apartment." Sana defended. Sana has been calling Y/N a lot lately, so she knows the girl is good at doing her job.

"Girls please stop. I'm having a headache." Nayeon stopped the two bickering women.

"If I don't find anything then I guess I'm gonna have to call Y/N." Nayeon added.

"Unnie, are you serious? What if she's back in the gang or something?" Jihyo asked.

"Jihyo-shi why are you disrespecting gangsters, huh? I feel offended. And for your information, Y/N was never part of the gang and I don't think she'll ever be." Sana defended once again. Jihyo seems to forget that Sana is a gangster sometimes.

"I don't get why you keep defending her. Shouldn't you be dealing with your current girlfriend instead of your ex-girlfriend?" Honestly, Jihyo is annoyed with how Sana keeps defending Y/N.

"Yah, why are you suddenly so mean? I'm not defending her, I can just see the change in her, okay?"

"I'm trying to protect you two. I don't want you guys to get hurt." Jihyo admitted.

"That's very sweet, Jihyo. But I think we'll be able to handle ourselves." Nayeon patted Jihyo's shoulder.

"Exactly." Sana nodded.

"She's right about you though. You shouldn't get very close to Y/N again. You know Dahyun won't like that once she finds out about the past you had with her."  Nayeon suggested.

"She will never find out."

"The truth always comes out, Sana-ssi." Jihyo sighed.

"Whatever. Unnie will you be going out with us tonight? Jihyo and I are going out with Dahyun and her friends." Sana asked the older girl.

"I'm not in the mood, Sana. Maybe next time."

"Yah, you haven't gone out with us for months. Just come please." Jihyo added.

"Ugh, fine. You two owe me." Nayeon gave in which made the two other women smile.

"Ah Chaeyoung-ah, what brings you here?" Y/N asked when Chaeyoung entered the office. There are no clients in the office right now anyways.

"Just wanted to visit my best friend, is that wrong?"

"Of course not. You can visit me anytime." Y/N smiled. It's rare for Chaeyoung to see Y/N smile like that.

"Oh Irene unnie, come here!" Y/N yelled to Irene who was doing some paperwork in the back.

"Chaeyoung meet Irene unnie and unnie this is Chaeyoung." Y/N introduced them to each other.

"Ah, she's the one that you stayed with at the farm right?" Chaeyoung asked.

"Yes, that's me. Nice to meet you, Chaeyoung-shi. I've heard a lot about you." Irene offered a handshake which Chaeyoung gladly accepted.

"I'd love to chat with you two, but I still have some work to finish. So I hope we'll meet again."

"Yes, I hope so too." Chaeyoung smiled and Irene went back to what she was doing.

"She's so pretty!" Chaeyoung whisper yelled which made Y/N laugh.

"Yah, don't laugh. She's really pretty. Is this why you left? To mess with pretty women?" Chaeyoung laughed.

"Yah, of course not. Why would I mess with her?"

"Because she's hot and you like to mess with hot girls." Chaeyoung reminded her.

"Well, that was in the past. Besides she's my unnie who's 12 years older, I would never mess with her like that." Y/N sees Irene as her older sister, no way that she will hit on her.

"Well, she isn't that much older than Nayeon unnie, so I don't see the problem." Chaeyoung smirked.

"Nayeon unnie? Since when do you call her unnie?" Y/N got confused.

"Ever since Dahyun started dating Sana unnie, we sort of became friends."

"Owww." Y/N didn't know that her friends are friends with Sana and Nayeon now.

"Anyways what's the real reason you came here? I know you wouldn't come without a reason." Y/N wondered.

"That's mean but true. We're going out tonight, all of us. Sana unnie and Jihyo unnie will be coming too. So I wanted to ask you to join us." Chaeyoung smiled.

"Jihyo unnie? You mean Ms.Park? The principal Ms. Park?" Y/N raised her eyebrows.

"Yes. We also got close to her because of Sana unnie."

"I can't believe you're friends with all our teachers now." Y/N shook her head.

"Well, at least I didn't date one when I was a minor." Since when did Chaeyoung become so savage? She has probably been hanging out with Tzuyu too much.

"Yah, why are you always bringing that up?"

"Anyways, will you come? Please come, I've missed hanging out with you."

"I don't know Chaeyoung. I don't think that's a good idea. Tzuyu still doesn't want to see me and Dahyun is still awkward around me. Not to mention there will be 2 of my ex teachers." Which one of them expelled her and the other one dated her, but of course Chaeyoung doesn't know that Y/N dated Sana.

"See it as a chance to make up with Tzuyu and Dahyun unnie. I'm sure they'll come around. Just show them how sorry you are and that you've changed. And about Sana and Jihyo unnie, they're pretty cool, so don't worry about it."

"Okay, if you say so. I'm in." Y/N doesn't really look forward to it, but Chaeyoung is right. She needs to make things right with her friends.

"Great, just come to my place tonight and we'll go from there." Chaeyoung suggested which Y/N agreed on.

Y/N went to Chaeyoung's place that evening and she was the last one to arrive from her friends.

"Since Y/N is here as well, we can go now. Sana and Jihyo unnie are probably there already." Dahyun said and with that they departed to the bar.

When they arrived at the bar, Sana wasn't very shocked to see Y/N because Dahyun already told her, but Jihyo and Nayeon on the other hand were surprised to see their ex-student.

"You didn't tell me that Y/N was coming." Nayeon whispered into Sana's ear.

"Oh sorry, I didn't know she was coming." Sana lied.

The moment Y/N saw Nayeon, her heart started beating faster. She wasn't prepared to see the teacher because Chaeyoung didn't tell her. She should've guessed that Nayeon would be coming as well the moment Chaeyoung called her "Nayeon unnie".

"Why didn't you tell me that Nayeon unnie is coming as well??" Y/N whisper yelled.

"Oops, slipped my mind." Chaeyoung smirked. Of course it didn't slip her mind. Chaeyoung has always shipped the two, so she just wants them to make up. Y/N knows that Chaeyoung did it on purpose, if this was a year ago Y/N would definitely have scolded Chaeyoung and she would have gotten angry. But now, that's not really the case. She's not angry with her, but she does admit that she is annoyed with the younger girl.

"Choi Y/N?" Jihyo raised her eyebrows.

"Oh hello, Ms. Park." Y/N bowed lightly. Jihyo and the others were kinda surprised. Since when is Y/N so polite? And that towards a teacher? A teacher that expelled her?

"It's good to see you again." Jihyo smiled weakly. Even though she had some hardships with Y/N, she did understand that the teenager was struggling a lot.

"Yeah, it's good to see you too." Y/N answered. The atmosphere soon became awkward when Y/N and Nayeon unwillingly locked eyes, both looking away immediately.

"Let's all sit down, shall we?" Mina ended the awkward silence and they all sat down. Nayeon kept staring at Y/N. Y/N really does look beautiful tonight, she can't keep her eyes off of her.

"I'm so ready to get drunk, it really has been a while." Momo said and everyone agreed.

"Y/N-ah you won't drink?" Sana asked when she noticed that Y/N ordered a coke while everyone else got a drink.

"Oh no, I'm okay." Y/N shook her head. Y/N never drank much anyways. But now she doesn't drink at all. She's scared to get drunk because she doesn't know what she'll be capable of in a drunken state.

"It's best if she doesn't drink anyways, who knows what she'll' do." Tzuyu said out of the blue. The girl had been quiet until now, but suddenly spoke up.

"Tzuyu! Don't be rude." Mina scolded her. Tzuyu has been acting towards Y/N like this ever since they met again. Y/N has tried talking to Tzuyu a couple of times now, but with no success. Tzuyu doesn't even want to see her.

"No, it's okay. She's right, I don't know what I'm capable of when I drink, so it's best if I just don't."

"I see you matured huh, Choi Y/N." Jihyo is impressed with how Y/N has been acting until now. Of course it's soon to see if this is all an act or reality, but they'll figure out soon.

"Oh no, I still have a long way to go." Y/N chuckled.

"I see she became humble too." Sana added which made Dahyun glare at her. Dahyun isn't stupid. Ever since Sana told her about Y/N leaving last year, she's been having suspicions. She doesn't know what those suspicions are but something just feels off. She can sense it.

"I heard you work at a real estate office, how did you end up there?" Jihyo asked the question everyone wanted to ask.

"Oh, a good friend of mine works there and they hired me as well."

"So you did graduate?"

"Yes, I did. I graduated later." Y/N answered awkwardly. Everyone's eyes are on her and it's making her nervous. Luckily they all started drinking and the awkward mood disappeared soon.

"Babe, let's dance." Dahyun suddenly said pulling Sana to the dance floor. At this point everyone is kinda drunk, except for Y/N, Nayeon and Tzuyu.

"Babe, why aren't you asking me to dance as well?" Mina pouted.

"Oh you want to dance? Okay, let's go." Chaeyoung said pulling Mina to the dance floor as well.

"I can't believe they've been dating for like almost two years, but Chaeyoung still doesn't know Mina's needs." Momo shook her head, which made everyone agree.

"I also can't believe how Sana and Dahyun are making out in the middle of the dance floor." Jihyo widened her eyes. Well, it's not the first time she sees it.

"You're just jealous that no one wants to dance with you." Momo smirked.

"Yah! I'm sure there are people that would want to dance with me. Tzuyu you want to dance with me right?" Jihyo acted cute towards Tzuyu.

"No, thanks."

"C'mon please?" Jihyo pouted.

"Ugh, fine. It's better than seeing you do aegyo." With that Tzuyu and Jihyo left to the dance floor as well, leaving Y/N, Nayeon and Momo behind. The three just kept watching the girls on the dance floor. Y/N is happy to see her friends having fun like this.

"I'm gonna get another drink. Do you guys want something?" Momo asked standing up and both girls just shook her heads.

"Alright. I'll be back." With that Momo left, leaving the two ex lovers behind. Both of them can't look at each other because the butterflies in their stomachs start flying whenever they just glance towards each other. Y/N couldn't deal with the awkwardness, so she stood up as well, but unfortunately someone bumped into her and spilled her entire drink on Y/N.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." The girl apologized and Nayeon was about to stand up to stop Y/N from getting into a fight out of reflex. This scene has happened before. It happened when Y/N and Nayeon went out on a date. A guy had spilled coffee on Y/N and Y/N, let's just say she freaked out so Nayeon assumed that the girl would be reacting the same way now.

"I'm so sorry. Shit your whole shirt is soaked. I really should've watched where I was going." The girl tried to fix Y/N's shirt. At this point Nayeon actually stood up without even realising. She was about to interrupt the two but she stopped when she heard Y/N speak up.

"Oh, it's okay. Don't worry about it. Accidents can happen." Y/N smiled weakly. Y/N also didn't look before standing up, so why blame the girl when she's in the wrong as well?

"I feel really bad though." The girl kept apologising.

"It's okay, really. No need to apologise, just go ahead and have fun. Don't worry about it, yeah?"

"Okay, if you say so. I'm sorry once again." The girl bowed and left.

"What did just happen?" Nayeon whispered to herself. She didn't expect Y/N to react like that AT ALL. Y/N's shirt is indeed entirely soaked, so she decided to go to the bathroom to fix it, but there's no way she can fix it. The shirt is just ruined.

"Ahh, how am I gonna fix this?" Y/N asked herself as she tried cleaning her shirt in the bathroom.

"Just take this." Someone suddenly said from behind her and Y/N turned around to see Nayeon with a shirt in her hand.

"Euhm." Y/N was taken aback, so she became speechless.

"Wear this shirt." Nayeon always has an extra shirt in her bag, for God knows what reason. When she saw how soaked Y/N's shirt got, she had no choice but to hand her shirt. Of course she still cares about her ex-girlfriend.

"Oh no, it's okay. I'll just fix this." Y/N can't accept Nayeon's shirt.

"Just take it, Y/N. I'm pretty sure you don't want to walk around in a shirt that's entirely soaked and reeks of alcohol. You can just return it to me later." Even though Nayeon didn't want to approach the girl, she hates the sight of seeing her struggle.

"O-okay." Y/N stuttered and lifted her soaked shirt right in front of Nayeon, exposing her abs. Nayeon blushed immediately at the sudden sight of Y/N's abs. Y/N looks so fit and strong, it's obvious she's been working out, since the girl didn't have abs before. "Aish Y/N you were supposed to get uglier after I broke up with you not even more attractive." Nayeon thought to herself.

"Uhm, there was actually something I wanted to say to you. You know about the apartments you send me." Nayeon tried to distract herself while Y/N changed her shirt.

"Oh yeah, should we go outside? It's pretty loud here." Y/N suggested and Nayeon nodded. Nayeon is loving the look on Y/N with her shirt. She suddenly misses wearing Y/N's hoodies.

"So what did you think of the ones I send you?"

"There were two that caught my eye, so I wanted to ask you if I could take a look at them?"

"Yeah, yeah. Of course, can you show me which ones they were?" Nayeon nodded and showed the apartments that she liked on her phone. Y/N couldn't see if from afar so she had to go closer to Nayeon, which made the teacher nervous. Her heart is beating too fast right now. Y/N noticed how Nayeon felt uncomfortable even though she was actually keeping her distance. The moment Y/N noticed it, she pulled herself away in a millisecond.

"We can actually go see one of them tomorrow since it's empty and I have the keys to it. For the other one, I'm gonna have to call the owner to set an appointment."

"What time tomorrow?" Nayeon asked.

"Whatever suits you. I'll be in the office all day."

"Okay, then I'll come around 4."

"Great." Y/N smiled weakly.

"I'm sorry I didn't contact you for weeks." Nayeon knows that Y/N has been waiting for her to call her about the apartments because Sana told her, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it.

"That's okay. I didn't expect you to call me. If I were in your place, I wouldn't have either. I consider myself as lucky that you're even talking to me now." Y/N never would have expected that Nayeon would be talking to her again.

"Why didn't you get mad at that girl? She ruined your shirt."

"Ow, should I have gotten mad at her?" Y/N is confused. Isn't it a good thing that she didn't get mad?

"No, no. I was just surprised that you reacted that way." The older girl admitted.

"Oh, well accidents can happen. No need to get mad, right?" Nayeon isn't sure if Y/N is acting or if this is how she really thinks. She hopes it's the second one, but she has her doubts.

"Guys, I need your help. The girls are pretty much drunk, we need to take them home." Mina approached the two. Mina didn't expect to find the two together. But she's glad she did, because just like Chaeyoung, she wants them to make up as well.

"Oh yeah, let's go." The three girls went back inside and all of them were pretty drunk, expect for Mina and Tzuyu. Nayeon took Sana and Jihyo home, while Mina and Tzuyu dealt with Chaeyoung, Dahyun and Momo. Y/N saw how Mina and Tzuyu were struggling with the girls, so she decided to help, but got stopped by Tzuyu.

"We'll handle it." Tzuyu said brutally.

"You obviously can't handle them, so let me just help."

"No, just go home. I said we'll handle it. This happened a lot when you were gone and we were able to handle them back then, so we can handle them now as well." Y/N just sighed. For how long is Tzuyu going to act like this? Y/N is lowkey getting annoyed. She understands that Tzuyu is mad, but can't she just look at it from Y/N's perspective? Y/N was losing her mind, what else was she supposed to do??

Even though Tzuyu didn't want her to help, she still did. Of course she's not going to leave her friends like this. Luckily Mina was there as well, so Tzuyu didn't say anything else.
