Chapter 12

I Need You To Hate Me // Im Nayeon X Reader1,980 words~10 min read

The next two days Y/N didn't go to school. She was looking for a new job, but with no success. She also doesn't want to go to school right now. She can't face Ms. Im after their argument and she also doesn't want to explain to her friends why she's a mess right now. Truth is Y/N is losing her mind. She's really stressed out and her anxiety is kicking in.

On the other hand, Ms. Im was getting worried. Y/N didn't show up for two days after their argument. She knows something happened, but she also knows Y/N will never tell her.

"Mina, do you know if Y/N is sick?" Ms. Im asked her student.

"Oh, I don't know. I've tried calling her but she's not picking up." Mina shook her head.

"Aren't you worried about her?" Nayeon raised her eyebrows.

"Yes, but Y/N does this a lot when she needs time for herself so I know she's okay. This is just how she handles things."

"Okay, thank you Mina. You can go." Mina smiled and left. She can see the worry in the teacher's eyes.

Nayeon once again can't stop thinking about Y/N. She's really worried. She needs to see her, so she decided to go to her house. She drove to the place where she previously dropped off Y/N. She knocked on the door and some old man opened it. After asking for Y/N, Nayeon realized that the student lied about where she lives. How is she going to find her now?

Then she remembered the adress in Y/N's file so she drove there. She rang the bell and a woman in her 30's opened it.

"Hi, sorry for disturbing. I'm looking for Choi Y/N, is she here?"

"What do you need her for?" The woman asked looking at Nayeon up and down, making Nayeon uncomfortable. Nayeon is guessing that this woman is Y/N's guardian.

"I'm a friend of hers." She lied.

"She doesn't live here anymore. I can't help you." The woman was about to close the door but Nayeon stopped her.

"Do you know where she lives now?"

"Yes, but I can't tell you that." She shook her head.

"Please, it's an emergency." Nayeon pleaded and the woman nodded telling her the adress which Nayeon was very thankful for.

"Is she in trouble again?" The guardian asked. Not like she really cares.

"No, but I'm worried about her." Nayeon sighed.

"You seem to care about her. It's nice to see that she has someone like you." The woman smiled weakly and closed the door leaving a confused Nayeon behind.

Nayeon drove to the address that the guardian gave her. She got into a very shitty neighbourhood. It's a neighbourhood full of gangsters and thieves. Is Y/N a gangster too? The teacher was scared but she needs to find Y/N. She went to the exact place where that woman told her to go to. She knocked on the door looking around her since many men were walking around.

"Yah, I already pai-, Ms. Im?" Y/N was shocked. She didn't expect to see her teacher in front of her.

"What are you doing here? You shouldn't be here."

"We need to talk Y/N."

"Hey Y/N, who's that beautiful girl? Can I have her?" A man yelled from behind and Y/N pulled Nayeon inside since it's dangerous for her to be outside.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Y/N is beyond angry about Nayeon showing up here.

"D-do you live here?" Nayeon asked looking around. She didn't expect Y/N to be living in such bad circumstances.

"That's none of your business." Y/N replied but Nayeon looked at her with sad eyes which made her calm down.

"Yes, I do." She sighed. There's no point in denying anymore.

"Y/N..." Nayeon's voice was weak, very weak. She was about to cry from what she was seeing. How can such a young girl live in a place like this? Around gangsters and thieves, in the worst neighbourhood of town.

Y/N didn't know what to do nor what to say, she felt embarrassed. She saw the shock on her teacher's face. She wanted to tell her to go away, but she knows how dangerous it is in this neighbourhood so she can't let her go.

"I know you're confused. Let's just sit and talk." Y/N suggested and they sat down on Y/N's bed since there was no other place where they could sit. Nayeon can't stand the smell that's inside of the room. It's the smell of a sewage system.

"How did you find me? You went to my guardian didn't you?" Nayeon just nodded.

"Aish, I told her not to tell anyone about where I live. I don't appreciate you invading my privacy like this."

"Why don't you live with her? Why do you live here?" Her guardian seems to be doing fine and she lives in a decent house so Nayeon is confused on why Y/N doesn't live with her but alone.

"That woman has a weird business. By that I mean business of pleasuring men. She does it everyday in her house, she sometimes even did it in front of me which was disgusting. When I grew a bit older she wanted me to join the business and I told her that I won't, that's when she kicked me out." Nayeon couldn't believe her ears how can you ask a kid to do something like that?

"What the hell Y/N, why didn't you ask for another guardian?"

"I did, but I never got one. I couldn't prove that she was doing those things so they didn't believe me."

"What happened to your parents?" Nayeon knows it's risky to ask her this question. Hell she's even surprised that Y/N actually took her in and didn't kick her out.

"They died when I was 10. I got into an orphanage after that. At the age of 14 I got my guardian and I moved out when I turned 16. So I've been living here for a year now."

"A-are you a gangster?" Nayeon asked and Y/N chuckled.

"Yah, I'm asking you a serious question!" The teacher hit Y/N's arm.

"No, I'm not. I just live in this neighbourhood."

"Why? Why would you live in a neighbourhood like this??"

"You're asking too many questions, seonsaengnnim. You already know a lot about me that you shouldn't know. But to answer your question, this is the only place that I can afford."

"But it's dangerous, aren't you scared?" Nayeon knows Y/N is a tough girl, but still she's just a kid. How can she live in a neighbourhood like this?

"I was at first, but I got used to it. They don't bother me as much anymore. Some of them are actually nice."

"Yah, have you lost your mind? How can you call people like this nice?" Y/N just kept quiet and an awkward silence overtook the room.

"I'm sorry for the other day seonsaengnim. I didn't mean what I said." Y/N looked down.

"It's okay, I know you didn't mean it."

"Is that why you don't give up? Because you know that I don't mean the shit I say?"

"Yes, like I said earlier, I know you're putting on an act. I can see the real you that's why I don't give up." Ms. Im looked at Y/N with sad eyes.

"I really hate that you're figuring me out. It's driving me crazy. I really want to kick you out right now for coming here but I can't do that since it's dangerous out there." That shows Nayeon that the student cares about her as well. If she didn't, she would have kicked her out by now but she didn't because she knows Nayeon would be in danger.

"Can you tell me what happened that day? Why were you so angry?"

"I got fired." Nayeon's eyes widened. She's not surprised since Y/N didn't do well with customers but now she understands why Y/N was so angry that day.

"I've been looking for a new job for the past few days but I didn't find anything and it's making me lose my mind. As you can see I'm poor. I barely could go around with the money I got from the coffee shop and now that I don't have a job anymore, I'll probably be homeless." Nayeon's heart broke when she heard that. She knew there was something about Y/N but she never would've guessed that it would be this.

"Y/N... You can't survive like this. I mean look at this place, it smells and it's freakin cold. Not to mention there are men wandering around with guns right behind that door. It's dangerous."

"What else can I do? I have no choice Ms. Im." There was a short silence after that when the room suddenly got dark.

"Fuck, not again." Y/N stood up as fast as she could.

"What's happening?" Nayeon admits that she's scared of being here. She has a bad feeling about all of this.

"Don't move and don't be scared." Y/N said and she lit up some candles so there would be light in the room.

"Electricity got cut off." Y/N acted like it was a very normal thing.

"Does that happen a lot?"

"It happens sometimes. Most of the time it will come back after a day. But you should go now seonsaengnim. If it gets too late you won't be able to leave this place. I'll help you get to your car. Then drive as fast as you can out of here." After 12 am the neigbourhood gets even more dangerous than it already is.

"Come with me." Nayeon approached her. How can she leave her student alone in circumstances like this? It's freezing inside and there's no electricity.

"I can't leave you here, so pack your stuff and come with me."

"I can't, I don't want to bother you. Also isn't it weird for me to go to my teacher's place?"

"No teacher would leave their student behind like this so pack your stuff and come with me. I'm not repeating myself again." Y/N admits that her teacher gets very hot when she's being bossy like this. She likes it.

Y/N packed her stuff like her teacher told her to. Well, there wasn't that much to pack anyways. Nayeon was about to open the door to leave the room but Y/N stopped her.

"You know it's dangerous here, you can't just go out like that. Stand behind me and try not showing yourself. Do not, I repeat, do not leave my side, okay? We need to go to your car as fast as possible." Nayeon just nodded since she's scared. Y/N always makes her feel safe and protected. Y/N took her teachers's hand and they both blushed at the small skinship.

They walked to Nayeon's car very fast and right when they got to the car a guy stopped in front of Y/N.

"Aaah, Y/N. Who's this beautiful lady?" The guy asked smirking. Y/N tightened her grip on Nayeon's hand and made sure that Nayeon was standing behind her.

"None of your business, go home oppa." Y/N knows this guy very well. The guy is actually pretty nice, but he changes when he's drunk. And right now Y/N can see that he's drunk.

"Yah, why would I go home when you brought a pretty girl like this? Just let me touch her." Y/N got angry hearing this. No one can speak like that about Nayeon so she punched him and he fell. Y/N was about to kick him, but Nayeon stopped her. How many times is this scene going to happen? Y/N always getting into a fight and Nayeon trying to stop her.

"Don't. Let's go." Nayeon told her to which she nodded. They got in the car and drove away from the shitty neighbourhood.
