Chapter 28 of 59

Na-Na-Na -Na-Na-Sen-NA!

Secret Identity (completed)1,395 words~7 min read

Senna's POV

After my talk with Harri, I took a nap and had a very cramped shower while bouncing around the onboard bathroom. Stepping on to small space between the basin and the shower I rub my wet hair vigorously with a towel just until it is no longer dripping, deciding to let my curls air dry.

Making my way to the back lounge where the boys are, no surprises, playing FIFA. I see Beckett still curled up under the throw rug where I left him a few hours ago. I suspect that even though his eyes are open that he may in fact be asleep.

Meanwhile, Jax as usual, is being overly competitive. He is taking taking on the twins, who are still yet to put on a shirt.

"I could murder a hamburger right about now," I announce to the group as Jax yells out some expletive because he missed his shot at goal.

"Me too," Beckett says, raising his hand like a zombie about to crawl out from a grave. Well, at least I know he's alive, and awake, I think as I count his vote an affirmative for food.

"Yeah, food would be good," the twins grumble. Which doesn't surprise me since they're always hungry. God know where they put it.

I look to Jax . He has on what we like to call his Level 5 Game Face, which basically means you're done because once he has that face on he will never let you win. "Yeah, Sen. I could do with a feed," he adds, his eyes never waiving from the screen.

After getting the group's agreement I make my towards the front of the bus. "Hey Ray Ray, have we got time for a pit stop? The boys and I were hoping to grab a burger."

"I'm not surprised after the night you had. You were in a right mess when you came back last night." he points out with a chuckle.

I mumble some excuse about not feeling well before we got to the club like it would go some way to redeeming me for my behaviour but from the look on Ray Ray's face, I can see he isn't buying it.

"Let me check with boss man and the road crew first," he says as he picks up the radio and places a call to the convoy behind us. Once he gets approval from Zander, and the production team, who confirm that they will keep going to the venue so not to delay set up, Ray Ray pulls Gus into the nearest roadhouse. Lil' Tony and the boys pull up in a car behind us. They're so good at what they do that half the time I forget they're even there.

As we walk into the restaurant we are met with the stares of a dozen or so drowsy truckers and 3 older ladies working the counter and the grill. I look further inside and see a young couple with two young kids at the play area. Fortunately, there are no crazed fans in sight. We each breathe a sigh of relief and make our way towards the counter.

We order our food and take a seat a the horseshoe-shaped booth next to the window. We playfully squeeze in as tight into the booth as we can, squishing the twins who are sitting in the middle. "Where are you even going to put eight slices of bread and four meat patties?" Beckett asks them in reference to 'The Manwhich" which they have both just ordered.

"Right here," Rafa answers patting his stomach, through the shirt that Beckett in true Dad mode had told him and Luca they must wear before we got off the bus.

"So, Na-Na-Na -Na-Na-Sen-NA!" Jax sings in tune to the Batman theme song. "Spill! How'd it go with Harri?"

I wipe the table absent-mindedly with a dry napkin. "Ok, I guess."

"Just ok?" Beckett enquires.

"Yeah, well... ummm"

"Come on Senna. Spill the tea!" Luca insists, throwing a salt packet at me from the condiments plate at the center of the table.

"There's nothing to tell. Honestly." I answer remaining coy.

I mean generally this stuff is not such a big deal, at least for Jax and to some extent the twins, but for me it is. The boys know that despite being linked to a lot of girls and having dated, let's just say a little more than a few, that I am not one to fall easily for someone, if at all. I think they are also aware that since Harri has no idea who I am that this time it just feels different. Realistically this feeling is probably something that only these four boys can relate to since they are the only ones in the world who really face the exact same problems as I do when meeting people. Sure other 'famous' people have these pressures but these boys have lived the exact same journey as me and really understand where I am coming from. At least I hope they do.

Jax, who is sitting next to my right and closest to the window gives me a reassuring pat on the leg as if he knows what I am thinking. I take the hint. "Okay, so I told her that I like her and she said it back." I splutter trying not to blush.

They each nod and smile at me. A semi-uncomfortable silence falls over the table. Before it can enter full awkward mode Jax breaks the silence by tapping his knuckles rhythmically four times on the table and bursting into song. I don't' know what kind of reaction I was expecting but I certainly wasn't expecting this.

Jax smiles, "were you all like:  Oh, Shittake. I think I like youuuu. Woah-Oh, I said, Shiitake. I think I like youuuuuu."

The twins, as always, are quick off the mark to harmonise. They start clapping and singing a scale, although instead of notes they're singing, "woah, woah, woah," like they're in a church choir.

To add to the whole disjointed nature of the impromptu singalong Beckett joins in with some table drumming and lyrical assistance, until the entire table, myself included, is rocking out to "Shiitake I think I like you." The song only comes to an end when our food is brought to our table, and as suspected he twins "manwhiches," are like mini Leaning Tower's of Pisa.

Apparently, we were all so into the song that we didn't even notice that everyone in the restaurant had started to look at us. I look around and see that the young couple even have their phones out and cross my fingers hoping that they didn't record our any of it.

I glance over at Lil' Tony and the boys who are just standing in position by the door shaking their heads, with a smile.

As soon as the waitress deposits our burgers on the table and walks away we all burst into laughter. "That might be one to save for the next album," Luca laughs.

"Or maybe not," I counter, throwing the salt packet back at him.

Turns out the burger is exactly what we all needed as we get back on the bus feeling refreshed and happy to be on the way to last few shows before we head home. That is, except for the twins who we basically had to roll on to the bus after they dared each other the eat the entire manwhich.

Rafa finished first because Luca refused to eat the tomato and the pickles calling them the devils food. Rafa then called him out for being extra and which resulting in him losing the challenge; and much to the entrainment of the truckers meant Luca had to run around the roadhouse dinning area with his t-shirt flipped inside itself like a crop top, singing, "I'm a fairy, watch me fly," while flapping his arms like wings. All of which Rafa filmed and posted to his social media accounts.

Just a quick update today.

What do you think of the song? Is it a hit?

Can you blame Senna for not wanting to tell the boys about Harri?

*next update will be up in the next 48 hours. It is longer and has LOT'S of Harri and SJ (Who need a ship name).
