Chapter 2051 The Difference Between the Two

“Gautier, you arranged for Gwain Lannister to deal with Emmanuel Lowe, haven’t you? Why haven’t I seen any action yet?” Teddy asked, “Lowe is even trying to stop the marriage alliance between us and the Chapmans. We need to take care of him before he ruins our plans!”

“Don’t worry, Master! Gwain’s been slow to act, but I’ll make sure Emmanuel clashes with them tomorrow. I’ll force him to make a move!” Gautier replied confidently.

“Good. I trust you! But what about the other half of the Dragon Tome? When are you going to get your hands on it?” Teddy’s expression suddenly turned fierce. “Emmanuel keeps opposing me and even wants to kill me. Once I’ve mastered the Dragon Tome, if he pushes me too far, I’ll have no choice but to kill him!”

Gautier’s heart leaped with joy. The old fox was finally starting to show his true colors in front of him, which meant he was beginning to trust him as a confidant. Outwardly, Teddy always wore the mask of a virtuous, road–minded man, a facade for the world to admire.

“I’ll make sure this task is done swiftly, Master!” Gautier promised.

“Good! I’m counting on you! Don’t let me down,” Teddy said, giving him a reassuring pat on the shoulder as though they were truly close.

“Can you lend me two skilled fighters, Master?” Gautier seized the moment and suggested. “I’ll go to Zone 4 tonight to capture Roselynn Lowe and have them do it under the Lannister family’s name.”

Teddy didn’t ask why. He thought for a moment, then gave him a thumbs–up

“Alright, I’ll have Levi make the arrangements”

“I’ll take my leave then, Master, Gautier said, bowing as he exited the room.

As he stepped outside, he ran into Levi, who was just entering. They exchanged brief greetings before Levi walked up to Teddy. “Mr. Tanner, aren’t you disappointed in Gautier’s martial arts skills? I saw him injure himself during practice.”

“Quite the opposite!” Teddy said with a sly smile, one that hinted at hidden intentions. “Gautier is a genius. If he had started training earlier, he’d probably be on par with Gwain Lannister by now.”

“Could the Dragon Tome he had gotten from Roselynn be a fake then?” Levi Asked, puzzled.

“No, not at all!” Teddy replied. “At least the first half is genuine.”

“Then why is Gautier…” Levi started to ask but stopped midway, suddenly realizing the truth. So these two–master and disciple–are locked in a subtle game of wits!

“Levi, your task now is to fully support Gautier. Help him take out Emmanuel,”

Teddy ordered, also instructing him to gather skilled fighters.

Levi nodded, accepting the task. He knew very well that if Gautier sincerely helped Teddy accomplish his grand plan, he’d certainly find a way to  eliminate Emmanuel.

In the past, both Teddy and Levi had admired Magnus, a young prodigy from the Zelinsky family. But after spending more time with Gautier, they realized this lesser–known youth from Yeringham was every bit as intelligent and cunning as Magnus–perhaps even more so. Unlike Magnus, who flaunted his skills, Gautier knew how to hide his talents, making him an even more dangerous and terrifying force.
