against them and her family having offended the Tanner family of Onza, she couldn’t afford to be overly

optimistic. “Well, you and Beatrix should come with me tomorrow!” she suggested.

instinctively began to undress for a bath, but Mackenzie stood up and gently stopped him.

She stopped him from undressing and pushed him outside. She whispered, “Beatrix will stay with us for

a while. Maybe we shouldn’t do it for the time being.”

“But…” He innocently queried, “We could do it even at the Quillen residence, so why not now? We’re

legally married!”

Mackenzie glared at Emmanuel. Her demeanor turned icy, and she was unwilling to elaborate.

At the Quillen residence, rooms were spacious, and Terence’s insistence had previously led Mackenzie
