5. Alpha Female

*Maria pov*

I flailed my four legs and took off in a run towards the boys. I leaped over the territory line and whipped behind Jeremy. Jeremy growled once at the large blonde looking wolf. He was probably a beta because he was a little smaller than Jeremy. What surprised me was I was as big as Jeremy. I was boxed in by Matt and Ryder, the only way to exit was backwards.

'Go Maria, he's calling his Alpha. I don't want you getting hurt.' Jeremy said. I slowly backed out and took off in a sprint. I felt my feet kick up dirt.

I weaved in and out of the luscious green trees. Branches reach out and grab me, leaving scratches along my coat. I heard a howl from behind me and push myself faster.

In a few short minutes I reached the main village in our pack. I didn't stop when I reached the paved main road. Cars squealed as I ran in between them. I left people confused because I smelt like pack but nobody knew my wolf.

I lost my footing and rolled. The next chance I had I was back on my feet and continued to sprint. My wolf was content with my speed and how fast I was able to run, but she didn't like that I was fleeing.

I crashed into the front door of the pack house and whimpered. I shook my head and scratched at the door. Kylie answered so I just bowled her over and ran to my room leaving muddy paw prints on the soft fuzzy carpet.

My nails clicked as I walked on the hardwood in my room. There I shifted and dressed myself in sweatpants with my school's emblem on the leg and a T-shirt with the sleeves ripped off.

I padded down the stairs and began to scrub my paw prints out. I was on my knees when Kylie came and kicked my in the ribs. A feral growl left my mouth and I shot to my feet pinning Kylie to the maroon coloured wall. She squeaked nervously because I had never done this before.

"Jeremy!" She calls panicking. Her heartbeat sped up and her breaths were shallow. Little beats of sweat fought through the make up on her face. "Anybody want to help me here?"

"Don't serve what you can't eat, because I'll make you choke it down anyway." my wolf said controlling me. Kylie's eyes grew. I felt my canines extend and then dropped her. I ran up the stairs into my bedroom.

When I entered I slid over towards my mirror. My eyes were a brilliant emerald green that reminded me of spring. I gasped when I noticed my teeth which were still elongated. I ran my tongue lightly over them and laughed. I closed my eyes and felt my teeth go back to normal. My eyes were back to normal too.

"Congrats Maria and welcome officially to the pack." Jeremy said barging into my room.

"Did you know that my wolf doesn't like disrespect?" I asked, "I almost choked Kylie."

"Oh that would explain the dent in the wall downstairs." Matt laughed.

"Yeah wolves tend to be temperamental." Ryder chuckled. "Especially Alpha wolves." Jeremy and Matt punched him in the gut in synchronization. I raised my eyebrow in question.

"Example A and B." Jeremy said quickly. Ryder just laid on my floor gasping for air like a fish.

"You guys are so weird I don't even know why I hang out with you." I laughed. "Now get out of my room!" I squealed while shoving Matt and Jeremy's backs. I gently kicked Ryder across the floor and out the door.

When I had rid my room of the annoying hairy fur balls, I sat on my bed and took out my phone to text Gemma.

I shifted today, got attacked when I crossed over the territory line, then almost strangled Kayla xMariamellow

Poor Gemma. I yawned and then opened my book to read.

*Ryder pov*

I was assaulted with two pairs of hands when we left Maria and were in Jeremy's office.

"What the hell Ryder?" Matt yelled. "Your little slip up almost cost us everything!"

"I didn't mean to say that!" I defended myself quickly.

"Would it really be so bad if we told her?" Jeremy asked.

"Yes! She'd kill us!" I shouted.

"Withholding that information from her like we are, she'd would do more than kill us." Matt grunted.

"We'll have to tell her sooner or later." Jeremy said with a groan. "Our punishment may be less severe the sooner we tell her."

"But do you want to deal with a pissed off Alpha female? Didn't think so." I said sarcastically.

"We have to tell her sometime." Jeremy warned and we nodded. "Now bugger off so I can do some work, I'm reopening the schools on Friday."
