âIt wasnât Cecilia who picked a fight, it was you, Harris. If you touch Cecilia a little bit, Iâll talk to you directly. Youâre the one who bothered my people.â
âOh, Iâm scared.â
Despite being obviously sarcastic, those behind Harris fiercely aimed at Cecilia.
For a moment, I could feel who the power of this family was directed to and what to do.
I shouldnât turn Harris into an enemy, yet something strong popped out of my chest. I didnât want to do anything.
It was her who bullied me, so I looked at Cecilia and faced Harris.
âHarris, stop it.â
Meanwhile, Allen approached me and stared at Harris.
But it wasnât her who backed out.
âItâs a total mess if youâre getting involved in this.â
âGet back, Brother. Harris wants to talk to me, so you two talk over there.â
âBut Bebe.â
Allen, who was calling me in a mournful voice, sighed deeply as he mumbled. Then he took Cecilia and backed away from me, thinking he shouldnât have stepped out.
It wasnât until then that I looked directly at Cecilia.
âMy people back down, so why donât you do it too, Harris?â
âI donât want to.â
âReally? You donât think you can talk to me?â
âNo, I donât.â
âOr you donât have to keep them close.â
Harris looked back slightly as if she had felt something in my words. Only then did the people who looked frighteningly fierce step back.
I think Harris looked at their faces and picked the servant or the knight. How could she be so rough?
Their expressions were fierce enough to remind me of the knights who used to hit me.
âSo what do you want to talk about while youâre all beaten?â
âHarris, are you trying to pretend to be me on purpose?â
âYes, I donât like you. I have to be the only Lady here.â
âI guess you are scared.â
The feelings of a mere five-year-old were no different from mine.
For an average home-grown child, Harrisâ feelings were not as good as expected. I even thought that she might have lived in hard times, just as I did.
âAs if she didnât want to take what she had.â
I thought it was strange when I felt her emotion completely.
âWhy?â
Although she lost her parents when she was young, she said that the old couple raised her well. She may have lived in poverty or had less of what she wanted, but she could not be so vicious.
âAm I thinking of her for no reason?â
But I felt that feeling in those eyes while she was staring at me.
Itâs a feeling that only I could know because sheâs just like me.
I didnât know because I didnât treat others like me, but I did feel it.
âI am not afraid. Donât be ridiculous!â
âIf not, why are you so afraid of me?â
âIâm not scared. Thereâs no way Iâm afraid of someone like you.â
âThen stop it. I donât care about someone like you. But you are different. You keep saying no, but I can feel that you care about me a lot. Isnât it weird that you care about me so much with all you have?â
âHa. You, uh, youâre over-reacting.â
Harrisâ dark black eyelashes trembled as if she was astonished. It was as if she was expressing in a childish manner, yet she seemed honest.
Especially for a five-year-old, sheâs a good speaker. Itâs kind of weird. Was it something to do with this awkwardness?
My heart kept pounding ominously.
Thatâs one of the things Iâve heard in my past few lives. They told me that a child was disgustingly good at speaking.
I thought it was because I lived there many times.
âThen why does Harris speak so well?â
There must be something about Harris who speaks as well as I do.
Others may think sheâs just a good talker and smart kid, but I donât think it was just that. The terrible discomfort I got whenever I saw Harris was probably because of those things.
It was thenâ¦
At that moment, somewhere in my chest became stuffy. No, itâs hot and stinging like someone was burning my heart out in the sun.
I noticed what this raw sense was at once.
âMom!â
The magic hanging on my mother was breaking. I was sure someone was attacking my mother.
After talking to Harris a little while ago, I quickly turned away.
âHey. Who are you? Why are you talking like that? Why are you turning all of a sudden?â
