Chapter 52 - Please Continue

Xue Ling’s face darkened. Just when she was about to explain, she remembered the vast number of reporters in the venue and thought that if she were to say it out loud, the headline of tomorrow’s newspapers would definitely be her and Ji Jinchuan’s dating rumors.

When she thought about it, her mood suddenly became better as she smiled. “How can that be?”

As long as she could stay connected to a man like Ji Jinchuan, she would be willing even if her reputation was ruined by rumors.

Shen Youran clearly had a look of disbelief. “Please continue .” With that, she swiftly left.

Ji Jinchuan squinted as he looked at her back, which looked as though she was escaping.

After He Zimin was done talking with others, he prepared to go to the hall. When he turned around, a woman and a man walked toward him and he bumped into Qiu Shaoze.

Shen Youran held a glass of champagne and had a faint smile. “Mayor He, we meet again.”

He Zimin nodded his head. “Ms. Shen. Why don’t I see President Shen today?”

She gave a simple answer. “Business trip.”

Shen Youran was the young missy of the Shen family, so he did not find it weird that she appeared here, but with her was that man who wanted to interview him previously. This made it difficult for He Zimin to not be suspicious of the reason that the two people were talking to him.

“President Shen is really busy.” He smiled and placed the glass of champagne back to the long table behind him. “I have something on so I will take my leave.”

With that, he stepped to the side and wanted to walk past them. When Qiu Shaoze saw him leaving, he stepped forward and stopped him. “Mayor He, I’m Qiu Shaoze from ME Magazine Agency. Please give us a chance to interview you.”

He Zimin’s expression turned cold before his expressionless face was filled with a sense of threat. “My time is very precious. Please move aside.”

Qiu Shaoze said, “Mayor He, I know you are scared that magazine agencies will write without basis. But our magazine agency is an official one and would definitely not produce articles like those entertainment magazines, which make groundless accusations. I can assure you that we will write the truth and not those fictitious things.”

He Zimin remained indifferent and his attitude became colder. “I said that I won’t accept interviews from any magazine agencies. Please move aside!”

Qiu Shaoze became frantic. He’d been a reporter for ME Magazine Agency for so many years and he had yet to meet such a difficult person. “He…”

He had just said the first word when his sleeve was tugged by Shen Youran. A waiter carrying a tray walked by, and Shen Youran placed her wine glass on the tray before smiling toward He Zimin, who had a cold look.

She calmly said, “Mayor He, we heard a rumor saying that you are about to be promoted to Deputy Governor. Although such rumors may not be true, it is not groundless accusations either.”

She carefully observed He Zimin’s expression. His expression was calm and had no change.

He was indeed a sly old fox to be so calm.

She continued, “The Provincial Director may not have confirmed it, but if Mayor He is willing to accept our interview, our magazine agency will report more of your honorable deeds and even build an image for you. This will be beneficial for your selection as Deputy Governor. What do you think?”

He Zimin remained indifferent. “Ms. Shen, on account of your father, I will not embarrass you. But if you continue to pester me, wait for my lawyer’s letter.”

Qiu Shaoze was angry and frantic as he blurted out, “Why are you so stubborn?”

He Zimin’s expression turned dark. “If you continue to pester me, I can only call for the securities to drive you out!”
