(Y/N)'s POV:
Despite how nice it was of Mr. Mondevarious to create this party, I didn't think it would be such a good idea to celebrate during an investigation, not when something weird is going on with the college kids. When it started to get dark, Dean, Sam, (F/A/N) and I split up to ask if anyone knew anything strange that might be going on around here.
"So, you haven't noticed anything unusual since you started working here? Any weirdos running around? Or anything that might stand out from usual?" I ask one of the workers, who is dressed up in a creepy looking skeleton costume.
"Uh, no," says the worker.
"Okay, well thanks for your time," I say, then walk away with (F/A/N). Not long after, we meet up with Sam and Dean. "Hey, guys. Found anything yet?"
"Afraid not. It's the same thing, no matter who we ask. None of the workers have noticed anything out of the ordinary, no weirdos, or anybody that could possibly stand out. No one's been skipping work, so it can't be any of them," Sam explains. "And we can't ask any of the students, because that's asking for trouble. And according to those who have been working here the longest, they're not familiar with any strange rituals that could be related to this island, last time I checked."
"And I'm starting to think that Mondevarious guy was right about these students being possessed by something," Dean says. "How is it that none of the chicks here are falling for my good looks?"
Sam, (F/A/N) and I all roll our eyes at him.
Of course that'd bother him.
"Could you take this more seriously? People's lives could be at stake," I ask, feeling myself about to lose it, fed up with Dean's stupidity.
"I am taking this seriously. One of the chicks I tried to flirt with nearly threw me in the air, like what we saw today with that girl who was leaving the island, Carol," Dean explains. "And another one almost broke my arm, threatening that she'd do worse if I didn't "back off her grill"."
Hearing that made me curious. "And did anyone nearby react to the situation?" I ask.
"Well, the workers did, but were too scared to intervene. As for the students, they didn't react one bit, just like this afternoon," says Dean.
Guess Dean did find something, after all. I mean, as far as we can tell, all of the college students not only develop a strange behavior, but they also gain unusual strength. The question is how that's even possible? Just thinking about it is starting to make my head hurt.
"Maybe there's something we're missing, like a secret hideout of some kind," (F/A/N) suggests.
"Or maybe there are some rides that are closed and are not permitted to being entered," Sam points out.
"Only one way to find out," I say.
We tried again, but this time, we went looking at the beach. Thanks to Sam, he got some info that someone lives in a small hut at the beach, and he just might have the information we need. However...
"What are you doing here!?" I question, surprised to see Daphne, who is heading to the same hut we are going to.
"No, (Y/N), what are you doing here? I found this place first, in case you haven't noticed, so go look somewhere else to find clues," Daphne says, walking up to me.
"In case YOU haven't noticed, this isn't a race. This is a very important mystery," I say with my arms crossed, not happy to see her.
"I know that," she says.
"No, you don't, which is exactly why you always got kidnapped all the time by the villains we caught, you Prima Donna prom-queen."
Daphne then gasped. "You did NOT just say that."
Before things could get any worse, Sam speaks up. "Enough! Guys, come on. We're all here, so can't we at least work together on trying to solve this mystery, or are we going to continue this argument, when people on this island are in danger. Just this once. And once it's all over, you can go on with your lives and never have to see each other again. Can we live with that, at least?"
Daphne and I think about it for a moment before giving our answer. "Fine," she says.
"Whatever," I say.
With that said and done, we all walk up to the hut, hearing someone say stuff that we don't understand. Whatever he was saying, it possibly involved that dead chicken, especially since it looked like he was about to stab it with a knife.
"Excuse us," Daphne says all of a sudden.
The man turns his attention towards us. "What're you doing? Now I have to start my voodoo ritual all over again!" the man exclaims.
"Voodoo ritual?" Sam asks.
"Yes, voodoo ritual. I was about to sacrifice this chicken," the man says.
"But that chicken's not alive," says Dean.
"I know the chicken is not alive, smart aleck. What, did you figure that out when you saw it didn't have a head," the man says. "Now what're you doing here? What do you want? Why're you all up in voodoo ritual space?"
"Look, we're sorry to have bothered you, really. We were just looking for clues as to who's behind the strange behavior of the college students," I explain, helping the man understand why we're here.
"Well, here's a clue: Purple is a fall color," the man says, pointing towards Daphne. "It's the middle of May!"
"Pardon?" Daphne asks.
"Listen, all of you, do yourselves a favor and get off this island. Go home. Go home before evil befalls your little, aerobicized booties. And whatever you do...do not, I repeat, do not go into that Spooky Island Castle," the man says, pointing to a castle at the top of a hill.
"Ahah! You want us to go up to that castle," Daphne declares.
"Didn't you just hear what I said?" the man asks.
"But you're scary, and you knew we'd do the opposite of what you said. So, you told us not to go to the castle, so we would go up to that castle where you set a trap to capture us," Daphne says, making all of us confused on what she's talking about. "Unless...Unless, you knew we'd figure it out, so you told us not to go up the castle, so we would think you wanted us to go, so we wouldn't go, just like you didn't want us to. We'll find out what you're hiding in that castle. You watch."
Daphne then walks away.
"What in the world?" the man asks.
"Sorry about that. Thanks for your time, though," I say, starting to walk away and follow Daphne. "Sorry again for bothering you."
With that said, we head back to the park to go find Shaggy and Scooby. When we do find them, we see Shaggy in a dreamlike state, looking at Mary Jane as she leaves. As I remember him mentioning how he started to develop a thing for her, I begin to feel happy for him, knowing that he's got himself a new girlfriend.
"Shaggy. Scooby," Daphne calls out, gesturing them to follow us.
(Y/N) POV:
Once we reach our destination, Shaggy and Scooby get scared at the sight of the castle.
"No way," Shaggy says, not wanting to go in.
"Shaggy--" Daphne starts to say, to try and convince him to go in.
"Uh-uh, Scoob and me don't do castles," Shaggy says, earning a nod of agreement from Scooby.
"Why not?" Sam asks.
"Because castles have paintings with eyes that watch you, AND suits of armor you think is a statue, but there's a guy inside who follows you every time you turn around," Shaggy explains, while Scooby does certain gestures to show what he's talking about, nearly making Sam and Dean laugh for being silly.
"How many times has that actually happened?" Dean asks, trying not to laugh.
"Twelve. We're not gonna do it," Shaggy says with his arms crossed, his way of saying that he's not going in that castle, and that's final.
"Thrat's right," Scooby says in agreement.
Daphne then searches for something in her hand-bag. "Scooby?"
I know where this is going.
Scooby then starts to whimper and pretend that his right front leg is broken.
"Did you hurt your paw?" Daphne asks.
"Would you do it for a Scooby Snack?" (F/A/N) asks, gesturing to the snack Daphne is holding.
"Roh, boy!" Scooby exclaims, getting all excited about the snack.
"And you'll be fearless?" I ask.
"Rearless?" Scooby asks back, then does a few karate moves, and accidentally kicks Shaggy in the face.
"Ow. Hey, Hong Kong Phooey, watch the fists of fury, would ya, buddy?" Shaggy asks.
"Here you go," Daphne says, tossing the snack to Scooby, who caught in his mouth with no problem.
"Rank you," Scooby thanks.
"There's plenty more where that came from," Daphne says.
"Now let's get going before somebody sees us," I say. Before we could enter the castle, however, I notice that one of us is still too scared to go, which would be Shaggy. "You're not gonna stay out here ALONE, are you?"
"No, thank you," Shaggy says, catching up to the rest of us.
With that, we entered the castle, and the place is definitely a lot more scary then the other castles I've been to back with Mystery Inc.
"This place is, like, uber creepy," says Shaggy.
"Yeah, uber creepy," Scooby says in agreement.
"The only thing missing is a mindless zombie," says Daphne.
"Maybe a pharaoh covered in bandages," says Dean.
"Or Dracula," Sam says, joking a little.
"Oh, you two are a riot," I say, not amused with their humor.
We then hear a door open, catching us by surprise, thinking that we had been caught red-handed. Shaggy even jumped into Scooby's arms, while (F/A/N) and I hug each other for dear life. But, turns out, it was just Fred, who was just as shocked to see us, as we are of him.
"Fred, get back. I found this place. I call dibs on its clue," says Daphne.
I give her a glare. "You mean WE found this place," I say, telling her that it's not all about her.
"I've already found some clues," says Fred.
Daphne's eyes widen in shock. "What?"
"I followed some weird footprints up here. It might be dangerous for you," says Fred.
"If anyone messes with me, I'll just open a can of Chinese whoop-ass on them," Daphne declares.
During their conversation, I notice Velma, who is standing behind one of the monster looking animatronics. She places a finger on her lips, telling me to be quiet, and then points to Daphne. It's at that moment that I understand what she's trying to do, making me smile, and nod my head to her, to let her know that I won't blow her cover. Velma then slowly pushes the animatronic, and uses the hand to grab Daphne, making her and Shaggy scream. Velma and I then laugh at her successful prank to scare Daphne.
"Velma!" Shaggy exclaims, not happy that he also got scared from her prank.
"What are you doing here?" Fred asks.
"This ride was closed due to dangerous construction. It's the most likely place to hatch an insidious plan. And I wanted to scare the patootie out of Daphne," Velma says, earning smack on the hand from Daphne, who used her handbag.
"You knew she was behind there the whole time, didn't you?" Daphne questions, giving me a glare.
"M-Maybe!" I say, trying to control my laughter.
"Well, since we're all together, let's split up and look for more clues," Fred suggests. "Daphne, you two and I will--"
Velma then cuts him off, while I roll my eyes at him. "Typical," she says.
"What?" Fred asks, wondering what he did wrong this time.
"Oh, nothing. I was always picked last for the teams," Velma points out.
Fred then sighs. "Okay. Daphne, exit through the entrance. Velma and I will enter through the exit there. (Y/N), (F/A/N), Sam and Dean, you guys pick whoever you want to be teamed up with. And Shaggy and Scooby..." Fred says, pausing for a moment to see Shaggy messing around with the animatronic's hand. "...Do whatever you guys do."
With that said and done, we all split up into groups of three. Dean went with Fred and Velma, while Sam went with Shaggy and Scooby, and me and (F/A/N) went with Daphne.
"......Hey, Daphne?" I call out, getting her attention. "Sorry, about calling you a Prima Donna prom-queen earlier. I really shouldn't have said that."
She then gives me a small smile. "I'm sorry, too, for making this mystery sound like a competition, when it definitely isn't," she says.
"Does this mean you two are together again?" (F/A/N) asks, giving the both of us a smirk.
I feel myself blush a little. "Now, let's not go too far," I point out.
"Maybe we can start off with being friends?" Daphne suggest.
I nod my head to her. "I can live with that. Friends?" I ask, holding my hand out to Daphne.
"Friends," she says, shaking my hand.
Well, I guess coming here to this island wasn't such a bad idea, after all.
