Chapter 113 Lost in random thoughts, Antonio fell asleep without knowing it.
When he woke up, he felt like his body was on fire and his throat was dry and sore. He had no strength, and his mind was muddled.
In a daze, he fumbled for his phone and called Morton, telling him to come over right away.
Enduring the burning body heat, he waited for ten minutes before he finally passed out.
When Morton rushed over to find Antonio in a high fever, he was almost scared out of his wits. He hurriedly contacted the front desk to take Antonio to the hospital.
During the six hours of IV drip treatment, Morton stayed by his side, not daring to even blink.
In the middle of the night, Antonio woke up and asked for water.
Morton quickly grabbed a glass to get water. As he passed through the hallway, he heard a very familiar voice. He turned his head subconsciously and immediately saw Grace.
She was also by the bedside, holding a thermometer, and the one lying on the hospital bed was Devin.
Thinking of Antonioâ purpose for this trip, Morton pondered for a moment. He then quickly got a glass of water and tiptoed back to the ward.
After Antonio finished drinking, Morton took the glass over and whispered what he had seen just now.
As soon as Antonio heard Graceâs name, his spirit picked up quite a lot. He immediately sat up straight, about to pull out the drip needle.
Morton hurriedly held him down and called for a nurse to bring a mobile drip stand.
Although the fever had subsided, Antonio still had little strength. He could only lean against the wall and slowly walk out of the ward.
Through a window, he saw Grace leaning over to give Devin his medicine. Their intimacy caused a pang of jealousy to well up inside him.
Sharp and observant as he was, Morton immediately sensed that something was about to happen and made a hasty excuse to leave.
After the sound of footsteps had died away, the hallway was quiet again, and the sounds from the ward were clearly audible.
Devin and Grace had planned to head straight back to Cruxfield after returning from the cemetery.
However, as soon as they arrived at the airport, Devin started coughing. Worried about his health, Grace took him straight to the hospital.
After a thorough check, the doctor confirmed that he had caught a cold, but fortunately, he didnât have a fever.
The doctor prescribed some medicine and brought a thermometer, instructing Grace to check Devinâs body temperature every few hours.
To watch over his condition, Grace didnât rest but just kept track of the time.
Seeing that she refused to rest, Devin wouldnât either. He held her hand and talked nonstop, interspersed with coughs.
âCan we go back home tomorrow? You promised to go watch the sunset by the sea with me.
âWhatâs the point of watching the sunset when youâre sick? Letâs do it when you get better.â
âNo, I made a bet with Ally. If you donât go with me, she wonât help me with the Daywich project, and our honeymoon will have to be postponed.â
âThen letâs postpone it. Iâm not in a hurry with it anyway.â
âBut I am! I donât want to work. I just want to travel happily with my wife.â
Perhaps because he was sick. Devin was as restless as a child.
Grace looked at him resignedly. She just couldnât persuade him and could only agree.
âFine. Have a good rest, and Iâll go to watch the sunset with you, okay?â
âDonât lie to me.â
Grace gently tucked him in.
Meanwhile, she said in a voice full of affection. âNonsense, when have I ever lied to you?â
âLast time, you promised to kiss me, but in the end, you ran away...â
