Chapter 110 After Grace had gone upstairs, Devin waited downstairs in a cafe.
Although he was looking at his phone, he kept an eye on the passage.
Seeing Antonio appear, he had a bad feeling.
Antonio was apparently searching for something. As soon as he spotted Devin, he strode over.
âWhereâs Grace?â Antonio asked in a cold tone.
When Devin heard this, his heart sank. He had an inkling of what was going on, and his gaze gradually turned cold.
âWhat do you want?â
âIâm looking for her. Itâs none of your business.â
Hearing Antonioâs irritable voice, Devin dropped his usual gentle demeanor.
âSheâs my wife.â
Those last two words stung Antonio deeply.
He looked over with a dark expression, his face full of resentment.
âDevin, what kind of woman canât you get? Why do you have to compete with me over an assistant? You are way too out of her league. You should just let her go.â
As Devin heard Antonioâ disdainful and condescending tone when mentioning Grace, his gaze sharpened.
âCompete? Grace is an independent person. Sheâs not a gift to be given. away, nor your possession. You have no right, nor the qualifications, to interfere with her life. Antonio, please save your overbearing arrogance. for someone else. You two are just really different, okay?â
His simple words fueled Antonioâs anger, but since they were now in public, he could only suppress it.
Clenching his fists, he stared at Devin for a long moment before leaving in anger.
After Antonio had left in his sports car, Graceâs voice came from behind Devin.
âWhat are you looking at?â
As Devin heard her familiar voice, a faint smile reappeared on his face. He turned and took her handbag.
Then he replied in a gentle voice, âI was watching two cats fight.â
Grace didnât suspect anything and also looked outside.
Meanwhile, she muttered, âCats? I thought it was Antonio. Did you see him?â
When Devin heard the name, a trace of imperceptible coldness flickered in his eyes.
âNo. Did you just run into him?â
âHe had Daisy call me. We didnât talk much before I left and went to the restroom. I thought you might have bumped into him.â
Noticing that her expression was quite relaxed, Devin let go of his worries.
He didnât want her to bother with Antonio anymore, so he quickly Chapter 110 changed the subject to their afternoon plans.
The couple walked out laughing and chatting.
The whole afternoon, the two were like an ordinary young couple, shopping, watching a movie, taking photos, and dating.
In the following days, they stayed at home, planning the layout of their villa in the Julstead Hills.
Their married life was very tranquil, and Grace got used to having Devin by her side. They chatted leisurely about the past, dreams, weather, dinner, and everything in between.
With each day spent together, their understanding of each other deepened. Their unfamiliarity, estrangement, politeness, and worries all gradually melted away.
May 18th was Lianaâs death anniversary.
Every year on this day, Grace would fly all the way back to her hometown to visit Liana, who was buried with her father.
She used to go back alone in previous years, but this year, she had Devin with her.
When they arrived in Millgrad, the weather was gloomy.â
They first went to buy a large bouquet of flowers and then hurried to the cemetery in the cold wind.
It had rained earlier, making the ground slippery. As a result, Devin held Graceâs cold hand while keeping a wary eye on the road.
After walking through the deep pine forest to the end, they arrived at Lianaâs grave.
The closer they got, the heavier Graceâs mood became.
Chapter 110 She wanted to see the tombstone but somehow dared not. In her struggle, she looked up and saw a familiar figure.
Antonio, holding a bunch of white chrysanthemums, stood not far away, his burning gaze falling on her.
More precisely, he was staring at her and Devinâs intertwined hands.
