CH: 77 Everything with you
(Rosemary POV)
The date was amazing, honestly. I had a good time, and I could tell that Jamison put a lot of effort into planning the day. It was something that he did a lot of research on, and it was something that he wanted to impress me with.
I was impressed, today was one of my favorite days, and it would be a day I would remember forever.
Now we were headed home after watching a movie. I was humming to myself while in the car with Jamison, who was driving.
"So, did you have a good time?" He asked.
I turned to look at Jamison, who had a goofy facial expression.
"I did. It was great, and we should do it again whenever possible." I said, smiling at him. Jamison smiled back and nodded his head.
"Most definitely, we should. It'll be fun to have date days from time to time." He said.
"Yes, I agree, and we can both take turns planning them. I want to be the one who plans the date day next time, and we'll do the things that you like doing. Sounds good?" I asked.
"Yeah, sounds good," Jamison said, his smile widened.
I stared at him as he drove; I found it interesting how someone could be so happy with wanting to spend time with me in this way.
I felt happy and eager to spend time with him the following date day, but seeing it written all over Jamison's face made me feel more excited. It's nice to know that someone genuinely likes being around you.
"Woah, what's going on?" Jamison said, slowing down; there was an accident ahead, which looked terrible.
"Looks like an accident happened," I said, trying to figure out what had happened.
We both stilled when a woman was running with injuries.
"Please, please protect him! Don't let him take him, please." The woman said as she was yelling at onlookers, the onlookers who couldn't see her.
"She's dead," Jamison said.
"Yeah, and she doesn't want someone taking someone," I said. I was looking at the woman, trying to get everyone's attention.
"We need to do something," Jamison said, stopping the car and pulling off the road.
I knew he would want to do something; that was how he was. He wasn't going just to let this woman continue to scream and ask for help in distress. Neither was I going to let that happen either.
As soon as Jamison was parked on the grass, we both got out of the car.
I went to where Jamison was standing, and we both stared at the distressed woman, who made eye contact with us.
"In a minute, she was right in front of us. With a look of distress, please tell me you can see me. Please, I know I'm dead. I know I'm dead, but please help me. Please tell me you can see me." She said, tears rolling from her eyes.
"We can see you," Jamison said softly.
Her eyes widened, and a look of relief mixed with distress still was seen on her face.
"Please, help me. My son is in that car, and he is badly injured. He can't go back to that house; you can't let him go back. We were trying to escape and escape from that man, but he must've done something to our car because I couldn't press the brakes. The car started to act up, and we ended up crashing." She said, panic being heard in her voice.
Fear was written all over her face; she was afraid and trying to protect her son.
"Who is he? His dad?" I asked her.
She nodded her head, a look of shame reflected on her face.
"I've been trying to leave for years, and when I finally decide to make a move, this happens." She said.
"I failed my son; please don't let him take him. If he does, my son will not be safe." She said, turning back to look at the ambulance that came.
"Do you have any family?" I asked her.
"Yes, I have a sister. I was heading towards where she lives, she doesn't know any of this, but she loves both of us. She will take care of my son, so please do something. I'm begging." She said.
The woman looked back as a man was seen running towards the car.
"That's him, don't believe him. He's abused us. I have the injuries to prove it all over my body, please. Don't let him take my son. Please, don't." She said, vanishing in front of us and appearing next to the car she was dead in.
"We can't let him take the son," Jamison said, facing me.
The woman who was in front of us was now standing next to the police officer, who was talking to the man.
The man she warned us about.
"Let's go," I said, approaching the car accident scene.
Jamison followed me as I made my way toward the scene.
"Ma; am you can't. Oh, sorry, Doctor Lavender, let me get out of the way for the both of you." An officer said.
"Thank you," I said, going to the car.
"I'm sorry for your loss, sir; your son is being rushed to the hospital." An officer said to the man.
"I'll be handling the scene," I said, speaking up.
Both the man and officer turned to face me.
The officer's eyes widened.
"Dr. Lavender, sorry I didn't know you were coming?" The officer said. He looked nervous to even speak to me.
I do have an intimating aura, so I can't blame him. I know that I can be seen as scary by others, yet it didn't bother me what others thought as long as they didn't get in my way.
The man turned around to face me, and a sneer then appeared on his face. The sneer on his face quickly disappeared after a few seconds, but I held his gaze and showed him that I saw that sneer and that I wasn't going to let that scare me away or bother me.
"I was in the area, I'll call my team to come to the scene, and also, I'll call some agents I know to speak to the other person in the car," I said.
"That person is a minor, so no detective or agents will speak to him without me." The man said, his voice cold.
The police officer beside him stared at him, stunned as if he had lost his mind.
"Shouldn't you be worried about the minor's condition instead of detectives speaking to the minor?" Jamison said next to me in a low deep voice.
I could tell that he was angry.
The man looked at Jamison; he narrowed his eyes. A look crossed his face, and he forced a sigh.
"I'm sorry if I was rude; a lot has happened. My wife and son were in a car accident, and I was told my wife had died. So, this is a lot." He said, making my skin crawl.
"Yet, you're not breaking down; you're not rushing to the hospital to where your son is. Instead, you're still here at the scene. Is there anything at the scene that you need to handle? Is there anything at the scene that requires your attention more than your family? I said, staring at him with a stern look.
He held my gaze.
"You're right. Excuse me." He said, walking away.
I turned to the officer, who was now admiring me.
"You notice something was strange about him as well, huh?" I asked him.
"Yes, ma'am, he wasn't behaving like someone who lost their wife. He just kept looking around at the crime scene." The police officer said.
"Did it look like he was looking for something?" Jamison asked.
"Yes. Sir." The officer said; Jamison cleared his throat. I glanced at him and saw a look on his face.
I held the urge to roll my eyes. Oh gosh. He liked being called sir, didn't he?
"Hmm, I'm going to call my team. Officer Nelson." I said, reading his name tag.
"Yes, Ma'am?" He said.
"Could you call these two agents for me? Tell them what happened, and ask them to report to the hospital regarding the young boy. Tell them I will also call them to fill them in." I said to him as I handed him the two cards that I had on me that had the agent's information on them.
"Yes, ma'am." He said, taking the cards from me.
I smiled at him and nodded.
The tint of red that appeared on his cheek was not missed as I walked away to call my team. I also didn't miss hearing Jamison clear his throat.
I took out my phone to notify everyone about the scene they needed to report. Something played in the back of my head.
He was looking for something and hanging around the scene for something; whatever it was, he was on edge about it.
