CH. 63 This is what we know

(Rosemary POV)

You know something about evil monsters? They like to harm. It doesn't matter who you are, where you are from, and how they ended up coming across you. Once that cruel being has its evil sight on you.

You're its target, which is what these two boys were.

A target of someone, and from the looks of this, it is not his first kill.

"Alright, everyone, all the evidence that was gathered at the crime scene, I want information from each one of them. I don't care how small the details are; I want them noted because even the tiny details are essential to the case." I said to my crime scene agents.

Every crime scene technician that works for me was interviewed by me; personally, I knew all their names, the schools they went to, the effort and work they put in to be part of my group, and each one of them deserved to be here.

I soften my voice.

"As you all know, it was two little boys that were found at the crime scene. I will be performing an autopsy on them; let's all work together to get closures for these boys and their loved ones. Please get to work." I said, and they all nodded their heads, scattering to do their workloads.

I took the elevator downstairs to the morgue part of my lab.

That's where everyone else was with Jamison.

When the elevator door opened, I walked out and made eye contact with the two boys, Jacob and Jonathan.

The look on their faces still haven't changed; they were both equally troubled and afraid of all of this.

"Hey, Bambi. We know where the parents live and other information about the boys as well." Jamison said to me as I headed towards them.

"How will you notify the law enforcement agents about this information without revealing how you got it?" My sister Red asked me.

"I usually figure out how to do so, usually when the kids go to the dentist, nowadays it's registered with their schools, their smiles, and proof. So I can search for that to see if I can get any hits." I said.

"Our school does that; they even gave our parents a card," Jacob said softly.

"That is a good thing for sure; we will go with that," I said to them.

"Our parents are going to see us like this?" Jonathan ask.

"Like, this," Jonathan said.

"My Mom and Dad are going to cry when they see me like this," Jacob said.

I held myself back from saying that the parents would already be crying as soon as they've learned that their sons were found murdered and sexually abused.

No parent would ever be okay after being told these things; no parents would ever be okay after seeing the state of the two young boys' bodies.

I know that to be the case, but I wasn't going to tell them that because I'm sure deep inside they knew that their parents would fall apart immediately.

"I will work hard on the appearances with the state you two are in, but they will see you after I've performed the autopsy on you two, and I will take care of your two bodies as the best I can," I said to them.

"Will you be the one who explains how we died?" Jonathan asked me.

"Yes, to your parents, officers, and agents on the case," I said.

"And you can't tell them that you can see us?" Jacob asked.

"I don't she can," Jonathan said in a sad voice.

That was something I didn't know how to answer; no, I couldn't tell their parents I could see their now found murdered sons, as a ghost, they're going to be devasted.

I decided to change the subject; conversations with children ghosts are the ones that get to me the most.

"Wasn't Natalie with you guys?" I asked Mona.

"She was; she stayed behind at the crime scene and is still looking around; Natalie said she would come here immediately after she's done," Mona said.

Natalie is a mother; after all, even though she's dead, she still wanted to stay by her family's side, and her family wanted her by their side as well. They were even open to being able to see her.

I wasn't going to lie to say that it didn't take me off guard, but when I saw the look on her husband's face when he was finally able to see his wife the way that their kids were able to see her.

I knew the decision was a good one.

With that being said, it is a great asset to have Natalie part of the team, especially with her saying that she would do her part and help with the cases but, I don't know how she's taking this case, with it being children involved.

"Hello," Natalie said, appearing next to us out of nowhere.

"I don't know why I didn't jump at that, but I think it's a good thing," Red said in a low voice.

I quickly glanced at my sister, who was standing next to Kendell, Kendell being able to help Red open her third eye faster than I thought would happen was something that I found interesting, very interesting.

There's no denying that this boy was also someone that has important skills, but also there's no denying that he's had some trauma.

Trauma either can make you into a Hero or destroy you and turn you into a villain; by the looks of Kendell, he falls into the excellent hero act, but there is no denying that the trauma he's gone through won't affect him. However, Kendell is hiding his emotions behind that stone face of his.

My readings on people are all good reading, which is how I know that this case has already bothered Kendell, just like it will bother everyone else on the team.

I turned to face Natalie; I found her looking at Jonathan and Jacob.

I know everyone in the group has noticed it as well.

"Natalie, what did you find?" I asked her softly.

She moved her stare away from the kids; she let out a sigh.

"I was assuming that he wouldn't be at the crime scene or one of the onlookers in the crime scene. So I went into nearby areas that had places where people could either sit to eat or have drinks." Natalie said.

"So, I found myself at a diner with the tv on, on the channel that was discussing the two bodies that were found," Natalie said.

"And, you looked at everyone in there to see if any one of them was paying the tv channel a different attention?" Jamison asked.

"Yes. Exactly." Natalie said.

"Because everyone in the diner would be giving the tv attention in horror except one person," I said, and Natalie nodded her head.

"I sat in front of him and analyzed him the whole time; I knew it was him, from the moment I went into the dinner and analyzed everyone. Is it okay if I described him to you two? To see if it is him, only if it's okay with you both." Natalie asked Jacob and Jonathan.

"Yes." They both said.

"Okay, he was wearing a blue-" Natalie started to say.

Jonathan cut her off.

"Blue hat with a mushroom on it?" Jonathan asked.

Natalie's eyes widened, but she nodded her head to give her response.

"Yes, dark brown eyes, white male, about 6foot, and a beard. Do I need to continue?" Natalie.

"No, because it's him," Jacob said in a whisper, but of course, everyone heard him on how quiet the room was.

"The guy who lives in the same building as you two?" Jamison asked.

"Yes," Jonathan said.

"What apartment building and what floor does he live in?" Natalie asked.

"He lives on the fourth floor, apartment 409," Jonathan said and also telling him the apartment building name.

Natalie turned to face all of us.

"I'm going to go there and watch him; Mona said she created a spirit link for us, so I'll update you all on that and what he's doing," Natalie said.

I looked at Natalie, it was a good idea indeed, but I needed to say this.

"Got it, Natalie, don't do anything that will have him dead but also, don't let him out of your sight or let him leave the apartment either," I said.

"Don't let him leave the apartment?" Natalie asked.

From the look on her face, she knew what I meant by that, but of course, she was looking for reassurance.

"Yes. Don't let him leave the apartment." I said.

"Got it." She said, disappearing.

"She died as well?" Jacob asked in a soft voice.

"Just like you guys too?" Jacob asked, staring at Mona, Damian, Macy, Marsha, and Hailey.

"Yes," Hailey said.

"Isn't there a place for you all to go? I am not religious but isn't there like a heaven or hell or something?" Jacob asked.

"There sort of is something similar, but we've all decided to stay here," Hailey asked.

"Why?" Jonathan asked.

"Doesn't it hurt to see your family?" Jonathan asked.

Silence fell in the room.

"How about we talk about this with me," Mona said, going up to the two boys.

She gave them a small soft smile.

"Follow me; let's let the others work, okay," Mona said, leading the two boys somewhere else.

"Wow, I didn't even know how to answer that," Hailey said.

"None of us did, and the kid is right. It does hurt having to see our family go through that and seeing their lives change." Macy said.

"We could barely get through it ourselves; the person who did this to us is on trial; I can't imagine how these two boys are going to deal with this," Marsha said.

"I'm going to work on the bodies. If anyone needs me, you all know where to find me." I said.

"Rosemary. This isn't this guy's first kill." Hailey said, which caused me to stop walking.

"I know," I said.

"We are going to look around in the police and sheriff departments to see if there are any similar cases of missing boys or found missing boys," Hailey said.

I turned to face her.

"Okay, sounds good. Damian. Could you surveillance my team, not that I don't trust them or anything, but if you see something that could be valuable evidence that they had either overlook or don't think it could be, that would be great." I said.

"Got it; I'll also take a look at the crime scene again." Jamison's dad, Damian, said.

"Sounds good; I'll see you all later," I said to them.

The girls and Damian all disappeared, heading to their destination.

I turned my attention to look at Jamison, who was already looking at me.

"Are you ready?" I asked him.

"Yes, let's do this." He said, walking to stand next to me.

"I just really hope those two boys will be able to pull through this," Jamison said.

"Me too; the thing is, as we do the autopsy on them, we'll find out what exactly they went through, also from what they told us and what we can confirm on the bodies," I said as we headed to the main door that would lead us where the bodies were.

"Are you sure you can do this?" I asked Jamison again.

"Yes, I can. It'll bother me, but I'll put my feelings aside; besides, I have you by my side. There's nothing I can't do with you here." He said as I opened the main morgue door for him.

"Okay, let's get ready," I said to him.

One thing about getting all these cases is none of them are ever easy.

They just get more challenging and more fucked up.
