CH. 49 It's the truth.

(Rosemary POV)

It was just Jamison and me who was in my car; we were park outside Natalie's home. I could sense her inside, and I knew that Jamison could as well. Not only that, but I know that Natalie most likely knew that we were here.

"How exactly are we going to do this?" Jamison asked me.

I let out a sigh, turned to him, and could tell that doing this was bothering him.

I could imagine, we were about to tell a widow, who's the wife of the man that we've met that we can see her, talk to her and that she's a ghost still roaming around. Not only that, but she was also still here in the house with him.

This wasn't going to be something easy to do, none of this has been easy, but it's something that has to be done and so, we'll do it.

"Jamison, I know you're not looking forward to doing this, and to be honest, I wouldn't blame you. This is something that is not easy. I know it's not, and you know that as well. Even so, we have to do this. Not only for Natalie but her family, her husband deserves to know. Just think of us as messengers. We are giving Natalies message to her family; especially, she's not able to communicate with all of them." I said to Jamison, watching him let out a breath.

He nodded his head.

"Okay, let's do it then." He said, and I nodded my head.

We both got out of the car and headed towards the house.

"I'll knock," Jamison said.

I watched Jamison knocked on the door.

Not even two minutes went by, and the door was open, Natalie's husband stood there with the door held open, and he had bags under his eyes.

He stares move to Jamison to me, and his eyes widened.

"Doctor Lavender?" He said, most likely wondering why I was here.

"Could we talk to you? It's important." I said to her husband.

"Yes, okay. Come in." He said, moving aside and letting us in.

"Sorry, I didn't catch your name last time." He said to Jamison. He and Jamison exchanged their names in greetings.

"Sorry, I wasn't expecting anyone to come today. We've been trying to get through everything that's happened. The kids have a weird way of accepting what's happening." Natalie's husband said, We sat down in the living room.

"Mr. Musco, the reason we are here-" I started to say, but two of the kids ran to the living room.

Natalie was with them.

"You're Rosemary! Mommy has told us about you! She says you can see her too!" The son said.

"Kids, what. Stop that." Mr. Musco said, giving me a sorry look.

"I'm so sorry, the kids still think their mother is around, and it's not easy for me when they do that. Kids, please."

"You're Jamison. Mommy said you could see her too, can you please tell our dad that she's still here." The daughter said.

Mr. Musco turned to look at us with a confused face.

"Wait, how did you know their names. What's going on?" He asked, confused.

"The kids are telling the truth," Jamison said.

"Excuse me?" Mr. Musco said.

"He's right; your kids are also right. Mr. Musco, your wife Natalie is here among us, and I know it's hard for you to believe us, but it's the truth." I said, and I could see anger work, it's way to Mr. Musco's face.

"Please leave, my children are grieving. The last thing I need is you two feeding off of that." He said, standing up.

"Tell him something for me; he needs to believe you," Natalie said.

"Tell him that, when we first met. I always wondered why he kept staring at me, and even though he was weird." Natalie said.

I repeated her words to her husband.

"That it finally took me to go up to him and ask, 'hey, why do you keep staring?' only to have him look at me with a shock expression and asked me if he wasn't discreet with it," Natalie said laughing.

I repeated those words to Mr. Musco.

I watch as sadness took over his face.

"How did you know that?" He asked me.

"Tell him that our first time together, that I laughed and then told him after I knew I was his first," Natalie said.

"Tell him that when he asked me to marry him, that we were both crying near the orange tree, tell him that our wedding day when I walked down the aisle and saw him crying, that I couldn't wait to be right next to him. Tell him when I told him that we were expecting that I surprised him with a gift box of a pink bird." Natalie said, and I repeated those words to him.

Mr. Musco was crying.

"Dad, moms here. She's telling Rosemary this." His daughter said to him.

Mr. Musco sat back down on the couch.

"How are you guys able to see her?" He asked us.

"We are somewhat different, but your children are telling the truth. Your wife has been here." I said.

He looked up as if he was trying to see her.

Natalie went to sit next to her husband and touch his shoulder.

Mr. Musco let out a hitch of breath and started sobbing.

"I'm sorry I didn't believe you kids. I'm so sorry." He said.

His kids ran up to him and hugged him.

"Is she, is she in pain?" He asked me.

I turned my attention to look at Natalie; she smiled a sad, soft smile.

"Just tell him I'm just a little sad that I'm missing his amazing cooking skills that could but chef Ramsey down," Natalie said, and I repeated what she said to her husband.

He let out a laugh.

"I can't believe you're still teasing me. I know I'm a horrible cook, but I've been learning for our kids." He said.

Natalie smiled.

"Is there a way I'll be able to see her? Just like how my kids can?" Mr. Musco asked me.

"Is there a way?" Natalie asked me, eagerness was in her eyes, and I didn't even know how to answer that question.

"Natalie, do you not want to move on?" I asked her.

"What do you mean?" She asked, and I spoke in a soft voice.

"You're a ghost; I think you're even getting towards the spirit level. Once you've accepted things, you can move on. As in, you won't be roaming around anymore." I told her.

Her eyes widened.

"Wait, what if I accepted things but don't want to move on, what if I just want to be with my family?" She asked me.

I let her words settle in; this is something Mona could help with, but would it indeed be for the best?

"Rosemary, I want to be with my children and husband. I want to watch my kids grow up; I want to just be with them." She said.

"I understand that but, this is something I'll have to ask someone about," I said.

"Are you talking to her, what is she saying?" Her husband asked me.

"She wants to stay with you all," I told her husband.

"She can do that? Isn't there a-" He started to say, but I finished his sentence.

"An afterlife? Well, it's a lot to discuss if we go there." I said to him, his eyes widened.

"Will she be able to stay with us? Will, I'll be able to see her?" Mr. Musco asked me.

I was going to say something, but I paused and looked at all of them.

I looked at them.

Bags were under Mr. Musco's eyes.

The children were looking at their mother with such sadness, but glad she was here.

Mona wasn't alive, but she was with me this whole time, maybe I could just try to see if it'll work with this family.

"I'll have to see if there's a way, I'll be taking my leave. Your children can see your wife, so please listen to them. Take care, no, don't worry about getting up. I'll let myself out." I said to the husband, as he went to stand up.

"Thank you so much for coming here to tell me." He said, and I nodded my head.

I turned around and took Jamison hand, we walked out of the house and headed towards my car.

As we got to my car and got in, I started to drive, feeling Jamison stare on me.

"So, what are you going to do?" Jamison asked me.

"I'll figure something out, I'll ask Mona," I said.

"Okay, thanks for taking the lead in there." He said. As we reached a red light, I turned around and stared at him.

"Of course, anything I can do to make you comfortable," I said to him.

He took my hand and placed a kiss on it.

"I appreciate it very much." He said.

"We are a team; it's no problem," I said.

He smiled at that, and the lights turned green, so I continued driving.

"So, you got my back?" He said.

"Yes," I said.

"Good, because I have yours as well." He said, squeezing the freehand.

"Now, I just have to figure out how to tell Mona this," I said.

"We'll tell her. Teamwork." He said.

"Teamwork." hoping Mona wouldn't kick both our behinds.
