Ch. 16 Not Jealous

(Jamison POV)

When Rosemary left to head to her office, I did notice the look on her face and I honestly felt like I said something that affected her.

Heck, I knew I did and I would have to apologize for it later because I didn't like that look on her face.

I turned my stare away because Rosemary was no longer on site only to be greeted by many pairs of eyes looking at me and smirks on their faces.

"What?" I asked them and Hailey opened her mouth to speak.

"We saw you looking at her boy, don't even act surprised by our smirks," Hailey said causing Mona to laugh.

I heard my dad snickering and when I turned to look at him he suddenly turned his head to look at something else and stopped his snickering.

"I was just worried that I hit a sensitive topic for her," I said and Mona's eyes widen.

She gave a soft smile nodding her head.

"Yeah, just a little bit but Rosemary is strong, she probably got over it as soon as she entered her office," Mona said and I nodded my head, hoping it didn't drag out in her mind and that Mona was right.

I still was going to apologize to her though.

I wanted to always apologize to her if I did something wrong or said something to upset her because I wanted her to know that I never want her to think I don't care about her feelings.

Gosh, I don't know what's wrong with me, this is supposed to be just a job or an experiment whatever she calls it.

I shouldn't be feeling this way towards someone who won't see me more than an experiment.

"Yeah, but they way Jamison stares about her is so cute," Macy said and I rolled my eyes.

"No idea what you're talking about. I was just concerned that's all." I said and Macy raised a brow.

"I guess you're concerned all the time then." She said causing a laugh come from everyone else.

"Haha, whatever," I said and Hailey's eyes widen.

"We should come up with a ship name for them," Hailey said causing my eyes to widen at her randomness.

"No," I said and Macy nodded her head towards Hailey.

"Yes, it will be cute. We should come up with one right now for them." Macy said.

Mona laughed rang throw our ears.

"I just love Mona's laugh, it's contagious." My Dad said and the girls agreed.

"Yeah, it is," I said smiling.

"Romison is nice," Hailey said and Macy's eyes widen.

"Yes, you're right it is nice!" Macy said I watch as Mona's head nodded agreeing and I turned to see my Dad nodding his head also.

"You guys are naming a ship that will never sail," I said rolling my eyes.

"Aww, Jami don't say that," Hailey said and I rolled my eyes again.

"It's a very cute name isn't it?" She asked me and I shrugged, it's nice I admit but I wasn't going to get my hopes up.

"It's nice," I said in a low voice.

"Yeah it is, I got some good taste," Hailey said looking proud of herself getting a laugh from Mona.

"Gosh, there's never a dull moment with any of you," Mona said.

The conversation stopped as Rosemary walked back in, I avoided looking at her and everyone else.

I felt her staring at me and I didn't know why, I felt my face getting hot, hoping that my face wasn't red.

"I called her." She said walking back towards the chair she was sitting on previously.

I let out a sigh, grateful that the conversation would take a turn.

"What did she say?" Mona asked and Rosemary told us what she said.

"She's also adopting a kid soon, who is one of us," She said and the room fell silent.

a kid who was like Rosemary and me?

"What do you mean?" I asked hoping that what she implied was what I thought.

"I mean when I say he's one of us as in he has the abilities too and she's found out about it, from what I can tell. He is a victim she has saved from what was happening to him and she's going to adopt him. I'm going to help with the adoption so she will be able to come with him when she visits." She said and my eyes widen.

My heart clenched on the fact of the kid being mentioned as a victim and having to be saved from something.

People are monsters, I faced that at a young age and the fact that a kid is also facing that made me extremely upset.

When that Kid comes over, I would make sure he was completely okay and maybe even take over the big brother role to him.

Or uncle.

A voice in my mind said and I shook my head.

Yeah right.

I wasn't paying attention to the conversation until these words pulled me away from my thoughts.

"You mean your little boyfriend?" Mona asked and I saw Rosemary rolled her eyes.

Who? Who's little boyfriend?

"He's so obsessed with me, I have no idea why but he is. It's weird but I don't mind it. I think he's made his way into my heart. My cold dark heart that is." Rosemary said and for some reason alarmed ran through my body.

Did someone make themselves into her heart?

Someone was given that opportunity and actually succeeded?

"You don't have a cold dark heart, Rosemary," Hailey said and Rosemary gave her a small smile.

She's been smiling more, everyone else noticed but has she?

She had such a beautiful smile and I wondered if she knew that.

"Not that you know of," Rosemary said causing Macy to laugh.

I wanted to know who this little boyfriend was.

"I'm glad she's bringing him, it's nice to have him around. He always brings a smile to my face." Mona said taking me off guard.

Mona was okay with this? I mean, wasn't she on ship Romison like the girls?

I wanted to know who this person was and before I could stop myself the question left my mouth.

"Uh, who is this he?" I asked, staring at Rosemary.

She raised a brow at me and I refrained myself from squirming on my seat.

It wasn't my business but I wanted to know, she probably won't even tell me and go back to her feisty way.

"Yeah, I'm wondering also. It'll be crazy having two guys fight over Rosemary but boy will it be quite an enjoyment." Hailey said and Macy shush her, I noticed Macy gave me a concerned look and I avoided it.

Hailey probably noticed and she also had a concerned look on her face.

"Hush, can't you sense that Jamison is getting Jealous," Macy said meaning to say it in a low voice but the room was quiet and everyone heard her.

"I'm not getting jealous, I just want to know who he is that's all," I said and Mona laugh, seeming to be wiping tears away from her face.

I was confused about why she was laughing.

"Jamison, I'm sure you and the guy will get along great." My dad said and I looked at him like he was crazy.

What? No. Stop the teasing, who the heck is this guy

I turned to look at Rosemary, she still hasn't answered my question.

"What?" She asked.

What does she mean what?

Answer my question.

"Who's this him that's coming with your sister?" I asked and I heard Mona still chucking.

"Her Dog," Rosemary said in a serious tone and my eyes widen, feeling my face getting heated.

The whole table erupted in laughter.

"What a dog?" Hailey asked and Rosemary nodded her head, confused to what was so funny.

"She has this dog, who Mona refers to as my little boyfriend because how he is with me." She said, shrugging her shoulders.

She was unaware of how I felt because of a simple misunderstanding.

Macy turned to look at me with concern, smiling.

"See, Jamison. There's no competition." Macy said and I could feel that caught Rosemary attention.

"Competition?" Rosemary asked.

Gosh, I just wanted to disappear.

There's no way Bambi knows that I'm attracted to her.

"How do you like the name Romison?" Hailey randomly asked and my eyes widen as I looked at her.

Oh no she didn't.

"I like it? Why?" Rosemary said and I turned to look at her.

Did she like it? Did she really....

"You do?" Hailey asked and Rosemary nodded her head.

"Yeah, I let it settle in and decided that I like it. Why do you know a Romison?" She asked, causing Hailey and Macy to giggle.

I knew what they were giggling about.

"It's a ship name." She said and I put my hand on my face.

Why am I being tortured like this?

"Someone name a ship Romison?" Rosemary asked and I looked towards Bambi to see that she was clearly confused and had no idea that they were not referring to an actual ship.

"Girls quit picking on these two," Mona said, letting a small laugh.

I looked at her and she smiled softly at me, giving me an understanding look.

"I'm confused." Rosemary said and Mona spoke."

"Oh Rosemary my dear, you'll understand soon. So what do you all want to eat?" Mona said changing the topic.

Rosemary turned to stare at me and we made eye contact, I looked away and join in a conversation that was being had.

I felt my heart beating fast against my chest, wondering if she caught on to the girl's ship name.

Mona had got our options for dinner and cooked, we had dinner, it was getting late. The girls wanted to watch the news but I was actually beat tired, making my way towards my room.

I felt my arm being grabbed gently, confused I turned around widening my eyes that it was her.

"Hey, is something wrong?" She asked me, we were in the hallways alone.

"No, not at all why?" I asked, surprised she actually sought me out asking me that.

Was she worried?

"It's just you looked bothered at dinner." She said and I laughed softly.

"No, I'm fine I was just being teased earlier by the girls, but it was done in good heart. I'm fine don't worry Bambi." I said and she nodded her head.

She didn't say anything about me calling her the Bambi pet name I gave her.

My eyes widen on the fact that I still felt her hand, that was holding onto my arm but I didn't say anything.

"Are you okay?" I asked her and she looked up at me.

"Yeah, just realizing that there's so much to be done that's all. I honestly don't want any more bodies to be found and knowing that that won't happen just bothers me." She said, letting go of my arm and my heart clenched already missing the touch that came from her.

"Do you want a hug?" I asked and her eyes widen as she looked at me.

"A what?" She asked me and I wanted to smack myself for asking, I'm such an idiot.

"Never mind, sorry for suggesting that. I don't know what I was thinking." I said scratching my head.

"No, it's fine. Uh, I'll take one." She said and my eyes widen, wondering if I heard right.

"You'll take the hug?" I asked and she nodded her head, looking confused. As if she didn't know why she said that but she looked at me and nodded her head again.

I didn't question it and I just pulled her into my arms. Hugging her tightly because this will probably be the only time she would ever let me touch her so I decided to make the hug a good one.

I rubbed her back softly as I hugged her, I felt something that took me off guard.

She actually had raised her arms and wrapped them around me.

I laid my face on the top of her head and took a small sniff.

She smelled so good.

I heard her sniffing me also and it took me off guard, was she smelling me also? No, surely I heard wrong.

She pulled away from the hug and I didn't know what to say, being lucky that she spoke first.

"Thanks for that, uh hug. Tomorrow do you want to go shopping. Since I didn't bring you here with your clothes, it would be best if we went to go get some and other things together. Will also get something to eat since it will be a long day most likely." She said and I nodded my head.

"Yeah, that's fine," I said and she nodded her head again, looking as if she wanted to say or ask something.

She shook her head.

"Good night." She said wrapping her arms around herself and walking towards the second flight of stairs.

I turned around to come face to face with Hailey and Macy.

I held my chest

"Holy fucking shit, Y'all almost gave me a damn heart attack," I said.

"Well we were eavesdropping and we noticed that you're going on a date tomorrow," Hailey said and I raised a brow.

"A what?" I asked and Macy laughed.

"A date." She said and I shook my head but stop shaking my head.

"It's not a date," I said and they looked at me.

"You're going shopping with her and out to eat, it's not a date you say?" Hailey asked and I was taken off guard.

It's not a date?

Right?
