The Invisibility cloak is broken?
Sean looked at Harryâs empty hands. Is one of the Deathly Hallows items, the invisibility cloak passed down from ancient times to today, broken?
Sean led them into the Room of Requirement, and Harry was already groaning.
âItâs over⦠My dad will definitely punish me. This is passed down to him by my deceased grandfatherâ¦â
âShow me.â
Sean took the invisibility cloak from Harry, and after careful inspection, he found that there was indeed a small ripped part at the hem. He tried to put on the invisibility cloak to see; the ripped part had completely lost its invisibility effect, and a small piece of cloth was exposed in the air.
This caught Sean by surprise.
He also owns an invisibility cloak, which he got from West. It is a boutique invisibility cloak, and its effect can last for decades. But the one in Harryâs hand is one of the Deathly Hallows items.
Although this invisibility cloak is not worthy of the name of the Deathly Hallows, Dumbledore can see through it directly, and Mad-Eye Moodyâs magic eye can also see through it. Even many animals can directly detect the people under the invisibility cloak.
But the biggest utility of this invisibility cloak is that the invisibility effect is permanently effective. It is different from those cloaks that have been cast with illusion spells or made of invisible animal fur. The effect will never be erased by time.
Moreover, this invisibility cloak has an anti-jinx charm and cannot be deformed.
How could this thing break?
Sean cast a puzzled look at Harry.
Harry had a bitter expression on his face, âI usually keep it very carefully. How could I accidentally tear it up? I wanted to sneak around the restricted area with Ron and Neville after the morning class, but something was wrong when I took it out.â
âWas it intact before?â Sean asked.
Harry nodded quickly, âIt should be. The Invisibility Cloak is already very tough, and I am careful enough.â
Ron added, âI put it away for Harry when it was used up last time. I swear that there was absolutely no such big hole back then.â
âWhere do you store it?â
âOnly Ron, Neville, and I know the password in the magic suitcase my mother made for me. No one else knows that I have an invisibility cloak except for us, my parents, Sirius, and the others. Maybe Professor Dumbledore too.â
Hermione frowned and said, âIf thatâs the case, then it shouldnât be happening. If someone else knows about Harryâs Invisibility Cloak, then he has the ability to destroy it and steal it directly. Leaving Harry with a broken Invisibility Cloak is a weird motive.â
Sean lifted the invisibility cloak and looked at the ripped part carefully.
The ripped edges of the cloth were rough, and the pure black thread ends were exposed in a disorderly manner. It was not cut with a sharp weapon but more like it was torn apart with force. Sean tried to pull out an exposed thread, and Harry even shivered when he saw it.
âBe careful, Sean!â he begged.
Daisy bumped into her brother, âItâs broken anyway; Sean just wants to do an experiment.â
Harryâs jaw nearly dropped to the floor.
While observing the thread, Sean comforted him, âDonât worry, the invisible effect has been lost, and there will be no problem if you pull out a thread.â
Upon closer inspection, Sean really noticed something was wrong. The broken end was a little lighter than the other end, and the threads were rough and dry. This doesnât seem to be caused by external force but more like aging itself.
âHarry,â Sean asked in a deep voice, âhow long has this cloak been in your house?â
âHow long?â Harry was stunned, âAccording to my father, this invisibility cloak was in my house when he was a child, and when he entered Hogwarts, my grandfather kept it. After that, it was handed over to my father and handed to me when I went to school.â
As he said that, he added, âIâm sure that no outsider knows the existence of this invisibility cloak, and I was very careful when using it.â
âI see.â Sean raised his wand and pointed it at the Invisibility Cloak.
âReparo.â
The ripped part in the invisibility cloak quickly returned to its original shape under the spellâs influence. However, the invisibility effect still did not recover, as if a sudden black line was in the air.
âThe Mending Charm really didnât work.â Harry groaned.
Sean curled his lips, âIf Iâm not mistaken, this invisibility cloak has already aged.â
âAged?â Harry froze in place.
âThe invisibility cloak is not permanently invisible. Obviously, this invisibility cloak is about to expire.â Sean explained.
Hearing him say that, Harry breathed a sigh of relief.
âGod, Sean, you must go to my house to testify for me when you are on vacation.â
Sean nodded with a smile. However, he still has something in his heart.
Neither Harry nor the others knew that the Invisibility Cloak inherited from the Potter family belonged to the Deathly Hallows, but Sean didnât lie to him either. The invisibility cloak in Harryâs hand is indeed aging, and it is most likely not genuine.
How could Sean repair one of the Deathly Hallows items with a Mending Charm?
So the question is, where did the real invisibility cloak go?
Sean thought of the person who traveled long distances.
Could it be that the person meddled with it?
Sean suddenly thought of something. With such a serious accident, it was obvious that the person had traveled long distances in order to change the past forcefully.
So, has the âpastâ been changed?
Meanwhile, Sean is more concerned with the time travelerâs movements. The Invisibility Cloak inherited from the Potter family is one of the Deathly Hallows items. Legend has it that if you collect all the Deathly Hallows items, you can master the power of death.
Could it be that someone who should have died was resurrected?
Dumbledore must have known about this. He may be the one doing long-distance time travel.
But why didnât he want to tell him?
Sean rubbed his temples with a headache.
He looked at Harry, âI have a way to contact the outside world. How about I talk to your dad first?â
âWhy?â
âDonât worry, Iâll help you, and itâs not your fault in the first place.â Sean comforted.
âVery well then, you should contact my dad now.â Harry finally said heavily.
Sean made a quick call and contacted Lupin, and this evening, Lupin sent a message.
âThank you for letting me know the news, Sean. Help me tell Harry that heâs not to blame for this incident.â Jamesâ words were very calm, but he felt a little bit bad for the magical item passed down in his family.
âI hope you can help me convey this. You mentioned in your letter whether there were any changes in the Potter family in the early years. I must say that my family has always lived a relatively peaceful life. The only exception was many years ago before I was born, which my late father once told me.â
âThieves once visited Potterâs house, but at that time, there were no valuables missing from the house. At that time, my father was only a child, and he told me that someone had invaded Potterâs house that night.â
âIt seems to be a small thief with no skills. Everything in the house is intact, including the invisibility cloak. Honestly, I donât think anyone would go out of their way to steal the invisibility cloak. Ordinary wizards are no match for the Potters, and a powerful wizard doesnât need a cloak that only provides invisibility.â
Sean rubbed his chin. It seemed that the Potter family didnât know that their invisibility cloak was one of the Deathly Hallows items. They only regarded it as a special and precious invisibility cloak.
However, he has some doubts about the thief mentioned in Jamesâ letter. He intuitively believes that the time traveler went back to the past. Sean is not sure about this.
If it is said that the traveler went back to the past and changed history, then the memory of the thief in Jamesâ mind should have changed yesterday. According to the information given by Stephanie, the wizard is aware of the impact of the time accident.
So, logically speaking, James should feel that something was wrong with this memory, but James didnât show it in the letter. It seemed to be a memory he knew well.
In this case, Seanâs thoughts conflicted.
There is too little information. Sean tapped the armrest of the chair.
In an old castle thousands of miles away from Hogwarts.
Among them are pure-bloods who hide their figures, black wizards with haggard appearance, staff of official institutions, and more wizards can be seen. Everyone is staring at the person in the center frantically.
âMy friends, no, let me call you my countrymen.â Grindelwald smiled and opened his hands to everyone.
The crowd uttered a huge, fanatical shout.
âThe law makes us like rats in the sewer. The law makes us hide our true selves. The law makes those under its jurisdiction curl up in fear, lest we will reveal our identity,â Grindelwald laughed With a voice, âMany people present must have heard this passage before.â
Instead of laughing along with him, people waved their hands even more to prove their loyalty and admiration for him. Grindelwald paced slowly, waving the wand that originally belonged to Sean.
In mid-air, one picture after another was displayed.
There are wizards walking in rows, middle-aged men who were knocked down by Muggle guns and their wands fell off, and young lovers wrapped in windbreakers and walking through the crowd to hide their wands.
Tank driving around, fighter jets whizzing through the sky, missiles blazing, and mushroom clouds rising one by one.
âFriends, compatriots, my comrades-in-arms,â Grindelwaldâs voice was resounding, but his expression was calm and firm, âThis is what we are facing; the moment they are angered, wizards will fall one by one. Meanwhile, the Muggles are gaining more and more power to prosecute more wizards.â
The crowd roared in anger.
But Grindelwald didnât quiet them down. He floated into the air and said in a firm and powerful voice, âIs this what we want to see? Wizards wouldnât be allowed to draw out their wand? All those who stand before me, who should look down on those lowly worms, are now bound by a law that our fellow men have made, and that law barred us!â
âYour parents, grandparents, and children in the future will be bound like this forever.â
The crowd became even more angry, and the sound of drumming resounded under the night sky.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âAnd the ones who decide how to treat them should be us, wizards. What do you want to do to them? Wizards will give them a place, and we will have real freedom.â
âYou make friends with them? You donât like each other? If you love a Muggle or hate a Muggle, it doesnât matter, and itâs not worth writing about. Because itâs all the freedom we deserve.â
âMagic only blooms in the blood of a few people, just like glory does not descend on the heads of everyone in the world. We are born to do better, but now, we are fighting for our rights.â Everyone was cheering and applauding.
Grindelwaldâs voice became louder, âGo on, my brothers, my sisters, my friends, my fellow countrymen. This applause is not for me but for yourselves. By standing here, you know yourself that the desire in your heart, understand the situation you are in!â
âWhatâs sad is that our countrymen in the Ministry of Magic, the Guards, and the Confederation are helping the Muggles to squeeze their own countrymen. Theyâre hiding under the cover and pulling every wizard who wants to pursue the truth. â
âBut Iâm not angry because you are standing here. I believe that if more people know about this, we will be even bigger.â
âMy friends, we are not fighting for hatred. We are fighting to change the world. For freedom, for truth.â
âAnd for the love in our hearts.â
