âIf you really remember to bring your poor brains to the Potions classroom, then the potion should be as easy as flipping the palm of your hand. Fire it up and brew it.â On the podium, Snape said coldly.
All the students took action except for Sean, who was still standing there. Snape glanced at him sullenly, then moved closer to Harry.
âItâs unfairâ¦â Sean sighed secretly.
After what happened last night, Daisy and Hermione just ignored him. Sean didnât even notice a little thief ruining his potionâs main ingredients.
The airwing bird ate the eyes as a snack.
A low chirping sound came from inside Seanâs clothes. Hermione gave him a warning look but turned slightly to block Snapeâs view to her right.
âDonât make any trouble at this time, little guy.â Sean sneaked in his hand and pinched the bird.
The bird trembled in Seanâs clothes and soon lay numbly in the bag without moving.
After experimenting, he found that the back of the bird seemed to be its weakness, and a pinch could make it limp for a while. Although he was close to Sean, he couldnât understand what Sean meant, and he was still an idiot. Sean could only use this method to calm him down for a while.
The Potions class was still going on, and while Snape was laughing at Harryâs stirring technique, Sean sneaked up to Hermioneâs side.
âHermioneâ¦â He whispered.
Hermioneâs expression didnât change at all. She just moved a little to the right again.
âProfessor Snape asked me to vote for herâ¦â Sean was trying to explain it to her.
However, as soon as the words reached his lips, he swallowed them again. But after thinking about it, Sean still didnât know what to say.
Sean suddenly missed the days before he entered Hogwarts. At that time, he could freely roam among girls of all ages, but now he was at a loss.
âWallup.â After the cold voice, a book was smashed on Seanâs head.
When he returned to his senses, Snape looked down at him.
âDo you not understand what he says to you, Sean?â
Sean looked at Harry at this moment. He stuck out his tongue at Snapeâs back and raised his eyebrows at Sean, indicating that he seemed to be in a bad mood today.
Sean sighed secretly. When Snape turned to leave, Sean glanced at Hermione, who was seriously brewing the potion, and finally decided not to speak.
Sean also ignored Hermioneâs disgusted gaze, leaned over, and watched the process of her brewing the potion. Hermione still didnât look him in the eye and even moved on purpose to avoid him.
Not only did she not deliberately do that, but she also moved the material shelf slightly so that Sean couldnât see the operation steps of her brewing potion more clearly.
Of course, she didnât say a word to Sean until after class.
After class, Sean was going to talk to Hermione, but Snape stopped him.
âCome with me.â Snape said.
Following Snape to the basement floor, Sean almost thought he had come to the wrong place as soon as he entered Snapeâs office. The large glass jars in which grotesque limbs and hideous animals were soaked seem to have been removed and replaced by potions of all kinds.
The potions packed in glass bottles and crystal bottles look amazing. Some are boiling themselves, some are constantly jumping, and some are emitting colorful light. In addition to the brand-new bookshelf, there were velvet-backed chairs and a brightly roaring bonfire, making Snapeâs office didnât look eerie at all.
Sean, who had just walked in, felt the warm feeling that a potion master with profound potion-making would feel in this atmosphere.
Of course, Snape was still the same Snape. Nothing changed at all from him.
He walked to the potion rack, took down two bottles of potion, handed them to Sean, and said with a blank expression, âThis is the potion. Go back and study its properties. If you canât satisfy me during the weekend punishment, then prepare for everything.â
âOf course, Professor.â Sean agreed and then looked at the potion in his eyes.
One of the bottles is dark blue, there seems to be a light flickering in it, and the bottle is cold. Hermione also brewed a similar potion in the class just now, but the color of Hermioneâs bottle was much lighter, and the flashing dots in it were hard to see.
The other bottle was dark green, with air bubbles rising very slowly from the bottom of the bottle.
âWhat is this?â Sean asked suspiciously.
Snape flicked his sleeves, âIt seems that you havenât even read the contents of the potion book. This is an underwater breathing potion, and it is an excellent combination with the vision potions.â
âAnd youâre giving it to me?â Sean asked in surprise.
The breathing potion is much more precious than the vision potion. The cheapest one in Diagon Alley also costs fifteen Galleons, which is still the base price. The potion produced by a potion master like Snape is twice as valuable.
Snape left Sean with the back of his mind, âItâs about to expire. Iâll give it to you to get rid of it.â
âWell, thank you.â Sean swiftly put away the two potions.
Seeing that Snape stopped talking, Sean walked to the door, âIâll be going, Professor.â
Just when Sean was about to close the door, Snape suddenly spoke out. The voice was warning and serious.
âWallup, the key to brewing potions is to concentrate.â Snape continued, âDo you understand?â
âYes, Professor.â
âIf you understand it, then do it seriously. Otherwise, a pot of good potion may turn into poison.â
It became a threat all of a sudden.
Sean smiled, âOkay, Professor.â
He quickly left the underground office.
When the footsteps faded away, Snape turned around and slowly sat down on the velvet armchair. Je seemed to maintain his previous habit, with his back straight and not leaning against the soft backrest.
ââ
Snape was like an old hen protecting her cubs⦠While eating, Sean was still thinking about what Snape had just told him.
He is not stupid. Of course, he can understand what he meant.
Thinking about it, he glanced sideways at a long table. Daisy and Hermione were chatting happily while eating, but he should have been there. The two didnât wait for him to eat today.
Sean sighed, secretly stuffed a piece of fish steak into his clothes while no one was paying attention, and soon, the swallowing sound of a bird could be heard. Although this little guy was just born, he needs to be fed regularly.
After finishing lunch, Sean walked out of the castle. In the afternoon, there was a session on the magical animals class. Newt should have been there to make preparations. He happened to take the bird and ask for his opinion.
Although he didnât see him at the table during lunch, Sean didnât care. For Newt, this is normal. Sean didnât see Newt until he came to the edge of the Forbidden Forest and saw Hagrid there.
âHey, Hagrid, howâs it going?â he greeted from afar.
Hagrid raised his head and showed a smile, âNot bad. Come here, young man, look at the little guy you are going to learn today.â
A hippogriff was standing next to Hagrid, eating something.
âOh, a hippogriff? Thatâs cool.â Sean walked over.
âOf course, you know what it is, a wonderful one, right?â Hagrid laughed heartily, âBy the way, this guyâs name is Buckbeak. I think you know how to handle hippogriffs. Wanted to give it a try?â
âOf course.â Sean nodded readily.
He walked up to Buckbeak, met its dark and vivid eyes with a smile, bent down, and bowed sincerely.
âYes, thatâs it, well done,â Hagrid encouraged from the side. âOf course, if it approves of you, it will also bow in return. If it doesnât, remember to back away slowly⦠ohâ¦â
Before Hagrid could finish speaking, Buckbeak quickly bowed his head in return and leaned affectionately to Seanâs side.
âHuh? Hagrid, what did you just say? Sorry, I didnât hear it clearly.â Sean asked while stroking Buckbeakâs fur.
Hagrid spread his hands helplessly, âItâs nothing.â
âBy the way, whereâs Professor Scamander? I thought heâd come over long ago to make preparations.â Sean turned neatly onto Buckbeak and asked curiously.
âOh, donât you know? Professor Scamander took a leave of absence and left Hogwarts yesterday.â Hagrid tidied up his messy coat again, âHe trusts me a lot, so I temporarily became his substitute for a week.â
âOh, thatâs great, Hagrid. Congratulations, everyone will welcome you.â Sean congratulated me sincerely.
âOh, I hope so.â Hagrid rubbed his hands a little awkwardly, âIâm a little worried. You know, Professor Scamander is so good.â
âYouâre fine too, Hagrid. Of course, if you need my help, just let me know.â Sean said with a smile.
Hagrid is kind-hearted, but his perception of the danger of magical animals is different from that of normal wizards. If possible, he is willing to help out in class. Hagridâs class would have been interesting if there had been no danger.
Hagrid patted Sean on the shoulder gratefully.
âThank you, Sean.â
âYouâre welcome, Hagrid.â Sean replied with a smile.
Sean also looked into the distance suspiciously. It is rare for Professor Scamander to ask for leave.
When the class started, Hagrid informed everyone that Professor Scamander was temporarily on leave. He would substitute for a week and invited Sean to be his assistant.
Sean was very popular, Dracoâs gang would not openly make trouble, and Hagridâs first class went quite smoothly.
After Sean demonstrated it once, the Hippogriff quickly adapted to the students. They bowed and stroked one by one. Even Draco, who had always been unhappy with Hagrid, was doing good.
âAlright, next one.â Shouted Sean, who was standing next to Buckbeak.
Excited, the girl touched Buckbeak again and ran away with small steps, and a girl behind stepped forward.
Itâs Hermione.
Hermione still had the same expression as before, as if Sean didnât exist. Seanâs eyes lit up. He gently stroked Buckbeak and leaned over to whisper a few words.
While using his talent, Buckbeak quickly understood what Sean meant. Although he didnât understand why he had to fly around with the girl in front of him, but since Sean ordered it, heâll do it.
He promised to give him two whole chickens.
Suspicion appeared in Hermioneâs eyes, but there were already students urging her behind her, so she had no choice but to step forward and bow quickly.
Buckbeak also bowed slowly in return, and Sean smiled and said, âIt likes you very much. You can try riding it.â
Hermione glanced at him and finally walked around to Buckbeak. She refused Seanâs move to help her up, and she got on his back.
Buckbeak uttered a long cry, stepped forward amidst the shouts of the students, and spread his wings.
After that, Buckbeak flew away.
