Chapter 279: “Snape Is Coming”

“Veritaserum?!” Everyone’s eyes widened.

“What happened to Sean?” Hermione asked anxiously, grabbing Harry’s robes.

Harry put away the invisibility cloak and said, “I didn’t dare to get too close. I only heard a little bit of vague conversation, but it sounds like the explosion over the room was caused by Sean, and the Guards suffered heavy losses. The man seen being carried out is their captain.”

“How could this be…” Daisy covered her mouth.

Hermione frowned, “Sean didn’t tell us… But if he really caused such big damage, he can’t be allowed to stay in the school, and he was backed by Professor McGonagall just now. I guess that’s enough to prove that he wasn’t the one who caused the accident, but why is Sean still being given Veritaserum?”

Daisy seemed to have thought something. Her face turned pale slightly, “Could it be that Sean’s memory has also been tampered with? He may have made something under control. Which led the Guards to find him, and that memory switch thing was triggered to him?”

Hermione grabbed Daisy’s hand, “The people and things Sean has come into contact with recently may be beyond our imagination. But judging by Professor McGonagall’s attitude, there shouldn’t be any major problems.”

She pulled Daisy to another corner and whispered, “It’s over. Even if Sean has nothing to do with tonight’s accident, he is an illegal Animagus.”

Daisy also reacted. She anxiously said, “What should we do? An Illegal Animagus will be arrested and sent to the Ministry of Magic. Maybe I must write something to Dad. He is still in the Ministry of Magic.”

“I’m afraid your father can’t deal with the situation now,” Hermione said in a deep voice, “The Guards are here for Sean, and it will be difficult if they are caught.”

The two discussed quietly for a while. Harry waited anxiously and shouted from behind, “What should we do? Snape’s is coming.”

“Huh?” Hermione turned her head abruptly, “Professor Snape?”

“That’s right. The Guards outside were ordered to go to Hogwarts to find Snape. If you think about it, you will know. They must have asked him for the Veritaserum.”

“Why didn’t you tell me before?!” Hermione dragged Daisy and ran away.

“Huh?” Harry scratched his head, wondering.

Hermione pulled Daisy back and took out the Invisibility Cloak.

“Harry, I’ll borrow this!”

“Hermione?” Daisy was led away in a daze, her face full of doubts.

Hermione took her hand and ran out of the castle. Two Guards were guarding the gate. She stopped at the corner and looked at Daisy.

“Daisy, listen. Hogwarts and Nurmengard are thousands of miles apart. Professor Snape must pass through a Portkey if he wants to come here, but Nurmengard is protected by magic, just like Hogwarts. The Portkey Network is still in Grindelwald’s authority, so the flashing point of the Portkey must still be at the main entrance outside.”

She pressed her hands on the slightly panting Daisy’s shoulders and said seriously, “Professor Snape has preferential treatment to you. You have to persuade him to drop the Veritaserum so that you can save Sean.”

Daisy had always been smart, so she naturally knew that Professor Snape was acting special when facing her. Although she didn’t know the specific reason, she could guess some of it. It should have something to do with her parents. Professor Snape looked at her very much like the way Sirius and Lupin looked at her.

Thinking of this, Daisy nodded, “I’ll try!”

“Okay, they are guarding now. The invisibility cloak alone may not be able to pass through those two, my Disillusionment spell is not as good as Sean’s, and the invisibility cloak can still be seen. I’ll go to the other side to attract them.” Hermione said quickly.

“Be careful, Hermione.”

Daisy soon heard a huge explosion from the corridor on the right side of the gate. The two Guards looked at each other, and one of them raised his wand and walked over cautiously. Then, another explosion occurred, and the remaining guards couldn’t help casting their gazes.

Daisy walked out quickly at the right time, and Hermione came over with a crying voice. Wearing the invisibility cloak, Daisy ran across the square as fast as she could. She came to the outermost gate, found a corner, and squatted down.

The temperature difference between day and night in the mountains was huge, and the night rain brought a biting coldness. Daisy was still wearing her pajamas, and the invisibility cloak didn’t have the function of keeping her warm. She didn’t dare to use magic spells to keep warm because she was worried about being discovered.

Daisy waited tremblingly for someone to come.

Just when she felt that her limbs were about to freeze, the space at the main entrance twisted, a candlestick fell to the ground, and a long-haired man in a huge black robe with a gloomy face came. Beside him is a wizard in the uniform of the Guards.

“Mr. Snape, I hope you can make sure that Veritaserum is real and effective. I have heard of your reputation. It is said that there is an enhanced version of Veritaserum now, isn’t it? It is stronger and lasts longer.”

Snape stopped abruptly. He turned his head and looked at the man with a gloomy and stern expression, “I will never produce those potions, and please don’t teach me how to do things first.”

Daisy’s beautiful eyes blinked anxiously. She didn’t expect that there were other people there. Daisy wanted to move around in a hurry, seeing that Snape was about to pass by.

“Professor…” In desperation, she called out lowly.

But the two didn’t notice this.

Just as she was about to speak, Snape suddenly fell silently two steps behind, and his wand slipped from the tip.

The curse hit the unsuspecting member of the guard, and he froze in place. Snape turned around blankly and pointed his wand in Daisy’s direction.

“Sneaking out of the castle in the middle of the night? No matter where you are, you and your father are as keen to break the rules and proud of it,” Snape’s expression changed, “If you can’t give me a reasonable explanation, I think Nurmengard’s harsh punishment might teach you to restrain yourself, Potter.”

“I’m sorry, Professor…” Daisy pursed her lips and lifted off the cloak of invisibility. Her head was exposed in mid-air, and there was a bit of grievance on her face.

“Daisy?” Snape’s expression was shocked.

Daisy didn’t know why Professor Snape, who had always been friendly to her, suddenly became like this. She was afraid and worried, and she was trembling slightly.

“Professor, I’m sorry. I wanted to ask you for a favor…but I don’t know…”

Seeing the girl’s expression in front of him, Snape stiffened his steps.

“Don’t cry.” He stretched out his hand and suddenly found that he was still holding the wand in his hand, and he quickly put his hand behind his backn/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

“I’m not crying, Professor,” Daisy said anxiously, “I want you to do me a favor. They want you to interrogate Sean with Veritaserum, can you…”

Snape’s face was expressionless, but his lips were tightly pressed together. He caught sight of Daisy’s expression. Daisy was about to continue talking when she saw Snape waving his wand, and a warm current dispelled the chill in her body in an instant.

“I can guarantee that Sean is definitely not that kind of bad person. He is a good and trustworthy person, just like you.” Snape raised his head.

“Professor?” She looked at him expectantly.

Snape took a deep breath, then took out two crystal bottles.

Daisy recognized one of them, it was a tonic, and she drank a lot in the first half of the school year, but she had never seen the other bottle.

Snape uncorked the bottle, slowly poured the unknown light silver potion into the tonic, and explained in a steady tone, “With the root extract of the Pale grass, this liquid can make the potion transparent. It is clear without any peculiar smell, and at the same time, it will not destroy the effect. The side effect is that users who take it within 24 hours are prone to drowsiness.”

Daisy opened her eyes wide, watching the tonic become transparent and clear.

“Just looking at it, it’s exactly the same as Veritaserum.” Snape finished corking the bottle, and a small note flew out of his inner pocket and stuck to the bottle.

It reads “Veritaserum”.

How could Daisy not understand? She showed a happy smile and said, “Thank you, Professor!”

Snape raised his head and put the bottle back into his arms. In the inner pocket that no one saw, another bottle of transparent potion was lying quietly inside. He handed over two bottles with a blank face.

“Rejuvenating potion, drink a spoonful when you get back, and tonic, take a spoonful before going to bed every night.”

Daisy smiled even more after taking the potion.

Daisy’s smile was too dazzling. Snape looked away and said in a low voice, “Don’t catch a cold, don’t cause trouble for me.”

“I will, Professor!”

Snape nodded, “Put on that invisibility cloak and return. Go back to sleep, or I’ll give you a punishment, understand?”

“Okay, professor,” Daisy blinked, “but this is Nurmengard?”

Snape paused and shook his sleeves annoyedly, “I am your professor. Now, go.”

When Daisy’s figure disappeared again, Snape waved his wand, and the members of the Guards, who were stunned in place, shook their heads in bewilderment.

“Um, Mr. Snape?”

Snape showed a mocking smile, “The members of the Guards can’t even resist the subsequent dizziness of the Portkey?”

The man was taken aback for a moment, then smiled embarrassingly, “Maybe just fatigue from all the things that happened lately.”

“Let’s go.” Snape didn’t reply anymore.

The Guards followed behind him and patted himself on the head in a daze. He found that Snape actually slowed down a lot, so he didn’t need to follow fast.

“It seems that this Mr. Snape is quite kind.” He thought to himself.

Walking steadily all the way into the castle, Snape glanced back calmly and then walked quickly to the vice-principal’s office.

Walking into the office, he glanced at everyone gloomyly. His tone was indifferent and mocking, “Can’t the Guards and Nurmengard even get a bottle of Veritaserum?”

Ponte took a step forward, “Professor Snape, this is to dispel everyone’s worries. Did you bring the Veritaserum? Our guards will compensate you for the potion materials.”

Snape took out the crystal bottle, which contained a clear and transparent potion, and the words “Veritaserum” were stuck on the bottle. Ponte exchanged glances with the wizard who brought Snape and moved away after receiving a signal of ‘no problem’ from them.

Sean stared stubbornly and aggrievedly at the potion in Snape’s hand. The wand had slipped into his sleeve and aimed at his throat.

Snape poured out a few drops of the liquid and said to Sean sullenly, “Just three drops, and you will reveal your deepest secrets, Mr. Wallup. If you are not honest, I will reward you with a few drops from time to time in class and maybe share it with your disobedient friends as well so that your first-grade girlfriend will not get into trouble and come to me later to beg for mercy.”

He knew who he was referring to, but he was completely confused.

However, it looks like Snape met Daisy before he walked in. Did Daisy come to talk to him before this?

Then he doesn’t have to worry about it anymore.
