Chapter 122

Shirley received called from Mildred early the next morning.

She reached for her mobile, glanced at the children sleeping beside and walked out from the bedroom.

The moment she answered, she complained, “My lady, it’s only six in the morning!” She raised her hand and stroke her hair.

Mildred’s voice was full of excitement, “Paisley quick, have a look at the discussion forum online, any one of it, Amelia is all doomed.”

Shirley’s action of stroking her hair froze, she turned on the speaker mode and browsed the internet.

A few pictures of Amelia hugging an old man in his eighties popped out with the headline: A wealthy daughter’s love for an old man.

Shirley could guess the content only by looking at the pictures and explosive headline.

When she scrolled down, a series of Amelia’s previous scandals were uncovered.

It even had the news where Amelia trapped and hurt the children.

Shirley frowned when she saw the news related to her children, she was wide awakened by it.

“Only you, Master, Kevin and I know about the incident involved the children, Amelia was kicked out by Master Stewart yesterday and spread rumours that I seduce Doctor Clark. And her scandals were all exposed online today, who did it?”

Mildred let out a sigh hearing the last three words from Shirley.

She thought Shirley would not suspect anyone near them when she released the news to Bryan secretly for him to investigate that vicious woman, but seemed like she couldn’t hide it.

“I was too angry yesterday and sent Amelia’s scandal to his assistant.”

“How did you get Bryan’s assistant contact number?”

“Paisley, sometimes you are smart sometimes you are terribly dumb. I’m your boss, I can easily get a hand on the information of your client.” Mildred would not reveal that Bryan gave his contact so he could learn more about Shirley.

Shirley trusted the excuse given by Mildred.

“Alright Mildred, but Amelia is revengeful, she will definitely fight back for exposing her scandals, stay away from her and don’t ever let her find out that it was you behind all this. I worry she might do something to you.” Shirley became suspicious of everyone after what she had been through.

Amelia behaved insanely these few days.

But looking at what happened to her now, she felt good that her children were avenged.

However, this was not enough to repent her sin that almost killed her children in that dark storeroom.

“Noted. What about the children? Did you check their injuries?”

Shirley rubbed her eyebrows, “Jacob’s injury is more severe, Emma’s skin is scratched, they are fine though, no worries.”

“Well, then I won’t go over for a few days,” Mildred said softly.

Shirley laughed lightly, “Yes, get all lovey-dovey with your loved one, I’m heading back to the room.”

Shirley browsed through the website again after hanging up.

The whole screen was filled with Amelia's news, she became famous within a night.

Shirley lied beside the children until they woke up, the family then woke up together.

They washed up, had breakfast and went for a shower.

Jacob was hesitant to let Shirley showered him, so Shirley sought help from Cameron.

After showered, Doctor Woods came to apply medicines on the children.

Emma took her school bag and walked towards her mom. “Mommy, don’t worry about me and Jacob, we are fine, it’s late, we will be going now.”

She knew they needed to attend kindergarten if there was nothing special.

A sudden sadness hit Shirley seeing how well-behaved Emma was, she pulled her into her arms. “Let’s not go to school today, Mom will stay home with both of you.”

Jacob turned his head immediately hearing that, “Mommy, really?”

“Yes, let’s wait until you are fully recovered.” More importantly, she wanted to go to school and took care of what happened yesterday.

She wanted to know which student hit her children and wanted to meet the parents.

“Yeah, can I visit uncle then? He prepared us lots of snacks at his office yesterday and napped with us.” Emma said while clapping, her angelic smile was accompanied by two dimples.

Shirley wanted to say no but couldn’t looking at Emma’s happy face.

After a moment of silence, she grabbed Emma in her arms, “Uncle is busy, we can’t interrupt him, and you’ve been with him the whole day yesterday, right?”

Emma’s smile disappeared slowly. She looked down and played with her braid. “Uncle said we could go see him anytime we want to, he will always have time for us.”

Shirley frowned, she didn’t expect Bryan would say such things to her children.

She had never overpromised the children, she didn’t want them to be disappointed if she failed to deliver her promise.

Daisy approached, “Ms Thomas, there are a family of three outside asked to see you.”

Shirley looked up, “A family of three? Who?”

“They claimed to be the Koch, the kid is Ruben Koch, it seems like they are here to apologize to the children,” Daisy said.

Presently, Doctor Woods had finished applying medicine on Jacob.

Jacob sat up, “Mommy, it was Ruben Koch that injured my back.”

Shirley understood everything after hearing Jacob.

“Let’s meet them then.”

“Mommy, I don’t want to.” Emma slid down from Shirley’s arms, ran over to the window and covered herself up with the curtains.

Emma stood up and asked in bewilderment, “Emma, why didn’t you want to see him? It was his fault to snatch your belongings, he should apologize to you and your brother.”
