Yun Zhijuan thought to himself, his gaze unintentionally landing on Xiao Qimo beside him, contemplative.
During his musings, he had already sent the mission packages to each commanderâs computer.
These were encrypted mission files with specialized processing, each commander possessing a unique verification code known only to them. By entering the code, they could access the information within.
The files were set with a âself-destruct after readingâ function, meaning that each person had only one opportunity to review the information.
Once viewed, the file packages would initiate a self-destruction protocol, completely obliterating themselves.
Thus, the elites sitting in the commandersâ seats generally had the ability to remember everything they read.
The seven commanders in the meeting room started reading intently upon receiving their file packages, recognizing the value of time and allowing no distractions.
However, there was an exception in the room.
Xiao Qimo squinted his eyes to see everyone else engrossed in their tasks, while his own computer showed no response.
He immediately understoodâthe leader had not assigned him a mission.
He slightly looked up at the main seat, his eyes carrying an even deeper bewilderment. Catching Yun Zhijuanâs slight mouth movement, an independent chat box popped up on his computer screen.@@novelbin@@
Yun Zhijuan sent over a smiling emoticon followed by a sentence.
âYou have a different task.â
Xiao Qimo furrowed his brow and sent back a terse â?â.
Yun Zhijuan: âContinue searching for the whereabouts of the mysterious individual number thirteen. This is your most important task right now. To know more details about the AorB case, thirteen is the key figure.â
Xiao Qimo stared at the message, his hands pausing on the keyboard.
He had never given up on tracking the mysterious person number thirteen. His biggest breakthrough was pinpointing the specific location in Kunpeng High School. But beyond that, he couldnât confirm anything more.
The man paused momentarily, then typed a reply.
âIf you had let me see the AorB case files, this task wouldnât have dragged on till now.â
As if expecting such a response, Yun Zhijuan slowly typed on the keyboard.
âEven if you had the information, it would have been of no use. Do you think Iâd have you do pointless work knowing who number thirteen is?â
ââ¦â
Some emotion flickered in Xiao Qimoâs eyes as he glanced at Yun Zhijuan, tacitly accepting his words.
Unless the leader had a screw loose, he wouldnât assign such a trivial task.
But Xiao Qimo always felt that Yun Zhijuan knew something. The last time he had traveled miles to go ice fishing with him, he couldnât coax any useful information out of him. Yet, Yun Zhijuan must be aware that those people had started moving againâ¦
If left unchecked, more victims could appear. Worse still, it could threaten Lu Mianâs safety.
Xiao Qimo ground his teeth and typed a line of text rapidly: âWhen exactly are you going to retire?â
Yun Zhijuan: âYouâre coveting my position as the leader, you lowly creature!â
One after another, are they planning a rebellion?
Xiao Qimo: â¦His brain really does have a hole in it.
Were it not for the fact he was his senior brother, he really would have wanted to kick Yun Zhijuan off the leaderâs seat and banish him to some snowy land to fish!
Disdain and irritation in his eyes, he typed a cold response.
âSo, why did you call me here this time?â
âA big matter!â Even from behind the Black Mask, Yun Zhijuanâs amusement was apparent: âJunior brother, you donât have a girlfriend yet, right? I know a particularly nice girl. How about I arrange for you two to meet? What do you say?â
