78 Acknowledging the Truth In the aftermath of the charity gala, Alex found himself alone in his office, his mind a tumultuous sea of emotions. Alex stood up, walking towards the window, looking out at the city lights. “I owe Emma an apology, a genuine one. For years, I’ve been blind to her struggles, too caught up in my own perceptions. I need to make amends, not for her forgiveness, but for my own peace of mind.”

“And Lillian?” Collins asked cautiously.
