Chapter 21

Briana looked a little helpless. “The dress I designed as your birthday present was accidentally hung up by the new clerk. A customer in the store wanted to buy it.”

Melody raised her eyebrows. Her eyes were full of curiosity, “What kind of dress? I am going to a party tonight. Tell Amy to bring it over, so I can wear it to the party.”

“It’s still half a month before your birthday. Let’s wait until your birthday. Hurry up and go to work. I still have some documents to deal with.”

Melody begged Briana for a while, but her efforts still didn’t work. Melody had to go to work.

In the evening, when she was about to leave work, Briana received a call from Maxim.

“I’m downstairs in MY Corporation. When do you get off work?”

Maxim’s voice was cold. He was still angry about what happened last night.

“It’s five o’clock. I still have ten minutes. If you’re in a hurry, I can head downstairs now.”

“No need. I’ll wait for you.”

When it was five o’clock, Briana put down the documents and went downstairs.

As soon as she walked out of the building, Briana saw a black Maybach parked by the side of the road.

She walked to the car. As soon as she opened the door and sat in, Briana felt cold all over her body.

Maxim stared at the document in his hand. He told the driver to start the car without raising his head.

They reached the gate of the Schneider’s house in silence. When the car was about to stop, Briana turned to look at Maxim and said, “If someone asks why I came here in your car, just say that Kiley asked you to give me a lift.”

Maxim frowned slightly. He looked at Briana coldly. “Is my existence so shameless for you?”

“We’ve been married in secret for three years, and we’re about to get divorced now. There’s no need to let others know that we were married.”

Maxim sneered. He said in a mocking tone, “You’re afraid that you’ll have problems in finding a man when others know you’ve married once, right?”

Surprise flashed in Briana’s eyes. She said expressionlessly, “It’s good that you know.”

She was about to open the door and get out of the car when her wrist was grabbed and pulled back.

She fell directly into Maxim’s arms.

Briana frowned. When she was about to push Maxim’s hand away, his cold voice sounded from above her head. “Briana, you’re challenging my patience time and time again!”

Outside the car, the Schneider family all came out to greet Maxim after they heard he was coming.

Desmond stood at the front with a proud smile on his face.

Maxim came to his birthday party this time, which was the most exciting news for him and the Schneider family. Desmond could teach those villains who tried to take advantage of the Schneider family.

Mallory also looked proud. If it weren’t for Kiley, Maxim wouldn’t have come here. She raised a good daughter.

They waited for a few minutes, but Maxim didn’t get out of the car. They started to feel a little weird.

Seeing such a big move in the Schneider family, the guests all came out, but they didn’t see Maxim.

They couldn’t help but start talking.

“What’s going on? Didn’t Mr. Yoder come?”

“I think maybe the Schneider family offended Mr. Yoder, and Mr. Yoder now deliberately stays in the car.

“Doesn’t Mr. Yoder like Kiley? Even if the Schneider family offended Mr. Yoder, Kiley can soften him up, right? I guess Kiley quarreled with Mr. Yoder, so Mr. Yoder is waiting for Kiley to ask him to get out of the car.”

The Schneider family heard the guests’ discussion. Desmond couldn’t help but look at Kiley.

“Kiley, go and ask Mr. Yoder to get out of the car.”
