Qin Yinan took a quick shower in the bathroom attached to the living room. He changed into a clean set of clothes and stood at the living room, staring at the closed bedroom door for a while, before stepping into the study to grab his documents and leaving the house.
...
Cheng Qingchong woke up soon after that. Mrs. Cheng had to catch her plane tomorrow morning. After days of tourist activities, both Mrs. Cheng and Cheng Qingchong were tired. They had no plans that day other than staying at home in each otherâs quiet company.
Initially, Cheng Qingchong could still put up a normal front to chat with her mother as they watched the television, but after lunch, as time moved closer to 6:30 pm, she became more and more agitated.
Mrs. Cheng noticed this about her and couldnât help but ask, "Qingchong, whatâs wrong with you?"
Cheng Qingchong shook her head and told her that she was fine, just tired from working through the night helping Qin Yinan with his work.
Mrs. Cheng bought her story and urged Cheng Qingchong to return to her bedroom to catch up on sleep.
Cheng Qingchong was afraid that her mother might see through her acting if she stayed any longer, so she decided to take her motherâs advice to go take a nap. The nap didnât happen because even with her eyes closed, all she could think of was the struggle of that one choice.
She really didnât expect that she would face the choice with almost same conditions twice in her life.
The first time, for the sake of Big Boss, she crawled into Qin Yinanâs bed while he was drunk.
And this time, for the sake of Qin Yinan...
Truth be told, Cheng Qingchong had already made the decision when she went looking for Jin Ze. However much she was in love with Big Boss then was how much she love Qin Yinan then... or rather, how much more.
This love was different from the feelings she had toward her former Big Boss. She liked Big Boss, but it had never crossed her mind to be together with him. She merely hoped for her Big Boss to find happiness, even if she wasnât one who provided him the source of said happiness.
It was different with Qin Yinan. She loved Qin Yinan, and she wanted to be together with Qin Yinan. Similarly, she wished Qin Yinan would find happiness, but she wanted to be the one to provide him with the happiness.
One kind of love was almost similar to admiration, but there was another type that could last a lifetime.
She was willing to sacrifice so much for her adoration-like love, so why wouldnât she be willing to make a bigger sacrifice for this love that she wished to have for the rest of her life?
Tears started to fall from Cheng Qingchongâs eyes. She was sad, not for her life that thus would be ruinedâshe was sad that her hope that Qin Yinan would one day forgive her and be together with her was thus ruined. Her hope would remain unfulfilled.
Cheng Qingchong bit on her lips tightly before she allowed herself to cry. Afraid that Mrs. Cheng might hear her, she curled herself up in bed and hid under the cover. She wept and wept until she felt depleted of energy. She rubbed the tear stains off her face, sat up in bed, and grabbed her phone. She searched for Jin Zeâs name, typed a speedy message, and sent it before she could stop herself.
Her decision was resolute, as resolute as her heart that was willing to sacrifice everything for Qin Yinan.
Her message that went to Jin Ze said, "I accept your conditions."
