~Angel~
I walk downstairs and sit down on the couch next to Jayden just in time for the doorbell to ring.
When Jay doesn't move, I got up.
"Oh no, don't rush, I'll get the door." I spit sarcastically.
"Thanks, sis." He waves me off absentmindedly, his eyes fixated on the T.V, making me scowl.
I walk to the door and fling it open.
"Uncle Cole!" I exclaim happily, jumping into his open arms.
"Mini Summer-Storm!" He hugs me tightly before putting me down just in time for me to be squished in a hug by Aunt Kyla.
"Hi, baby!" She squeals happily, kissing my cheek.
"Hi, Aunt Ky." I greet back, just as happily, returning her hug.
She pulls away and I look down at the brown haired girl in front of me.
Immediately, she throws her arms around my waist and hugs me tightly.
"Rose!" She exclaims happily, squeezing the living day lights out of me.
"Toro!" I shout, hugging Raziel's eleven year old sister.
Like Raz and I, Tori and I also have special nicknames for each other. She calls me Rose, which is my middle name, and I call her Toro, because, well, because I can.
She pulls away from me and follows Uncle Cole and Aunt Kyla inside.
I look at Raziel with an eyebrow raised. "What?"
"Don't I get a hug?" He holds his arms out with a pout on his face.
I roll my eyes and chuckle, hugging him.
He kisses my temple before walking inside.
I look out the door just in time to see Uncle Nate and Uncle Reese racing each other up the driveway. They both pull me into a hug yelling, "Hi, Angel!"
"Hi, Uncle Nate. Hi, Uncle Reese." I greet, struggling for air. "Can't. Breathe."
They instantly let me go, rubbing the backs of their necks, smiling sheepishly. "Sorry."
I chuckle. "No problem."
Uncle Reese ruffles my black hair before looking at each other and yelling in unison again. "Stormy!"
They run inside.
A few seconds later, Hunter slams into me, hugging me tightly before rushing inside.
"Ang!" Aunt Hannah envelopes me in a hug.
"Hey, Aunt Han." I smile, hugging her back before pulling away.
"Hi, Angel." Aunt Cassie greets softly, pulling me into a soft hug.
"Hi, Aunt Cas." I smile, hugging her back just as softly.
They walk inside.
"Hey, A." Ashlynn kisses my cheek.
"Hey, Ashy." I ruffle her hair before giving her a hug. She walks inside.
"Angel!" I hear a squeaky voice squeal from the end of the driveway and spot Ella running over.
I meets her halfway and pick her up, kissing her cheek and engulfing her in a hug.
"Hey, princess." I grin as she giggles at the nickname.
I keep Ella in my arms as Beth hugs me, kissing my cheek.
"Hi, sweetie." She greets cheerfully. "How are you?"
"I'm good." I smile. "You?"
"I'm great, honey, thanks for asking." She grins. "I'm going to go say hi to your mother and Aunts. I haven't seen them in a while."
I nod as she takes Ella from me and walks inside.
"Hey, Angel!" Leo booms as he reaches me and ruffles my hair before hugging me.
"Hey, Leo." I smile brightly. "Dad, Uncle Nate, Uncle Cole and Uncle Reese are in the backyard."
"Thanks, Ang." He smiles gratefully, going to the back.
"Hey, Devil."
I turn to River. "Hey, Forest."
"I like your new profile picture." He smirks at me.
I chuckle. "I look good in it, right?"
"Always." His smirk turns into a cute smile before he holds his arms out. "Now do I get a hug or was that for everyone but me?"
I roll my grey eyes playfully before literally jumping on him, wrapping my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist.
He doesn't budge. He just wraps his arms around my waist and hugs me back tightly, holding me up.
A few minutes later, we break away and he puts me down.
He smirks. "I think I got the best hug out of everyone."
I chuckle quietly as we walk inside.
Almost instantly, mom, Aunt Kyla, Aunt Hannah, Aunt Cassie and Beth stop talking and stare at us.
"Oh my gosh, they match!" Aunt Kyla squeals happily, clapping her hands.
"Awwww!" Aunt Hannah and Aunt Cassie coo.
"See, we told you." Mom smirks knowingly.
"They like each other so much they're even dressing similarly." Beth mirrors mom's smirk.
Matching?
What the hell are they talking about.
Simultaneously, River and I turn to each other and look at the other's outfit.
He's also wearing a pair of ripped jeans, but they're not folded. He's wearing a pair of plain black Nikes. I can't see his shirt, but I can see his hoodie.
"You're wearing my hoodie!" We exclaim to each other, pointing out the obvious.
"That's great, you have eyes!" Mom claps her hands sarcastically. "Now kiss!"
River and I share a look before awkwardly shuffling away from each other.
Just then, Sir Cumberbatch the Fourth starts sobbing from upstairs.
I groan inwardly.
Just two more days.
That thing cried so much at night that River and I had ended up having to spend the night at each others house every night for the last month.
Not that I'm complaining, seeing as I stole a bunch of River's clothes.
Hehe.
I walk upstairs with River in tow.
"Stupid piece of plastic. Just two more days. Two more painful days. Stupid Sir Cumberbatch the Fourth. Why did I even let Angel name him that?" I hear River mumbling under his breath from behind me, making me smother my laugh.
We make it to my room and I pick the baby up from Ella's toy cot which is sitting in the corner of my room.
He wouldn't stop crying so I handed him to River but he kept on crying his mechanical lungs out.
I sight before taking Sir Cumberbatch back in my arms.
I take a breath and start singing.
"I wanna leave my footprint on the sands of time
Know there was something that, meant something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I'll leave no regrets,
Leave something to remember, so they won't forget
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I want to say I lived each day, until I die
And know that I meant something in somebody's life
The hearts I have touched will be the proof that I leave
That I made a difference, and this world will see
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone to happiness
Left this world a little better just because
I was here
I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here.
(I lived), I lived
(I loved), I was here
(I did), I did
(I've done), I was here
(I lived), I lived
(I loved)
I was here
I did
(I've done)
I was here."
By the time I finished singing I Was Here by beyoncé, Sir Cumberbatch the Fourth had stopped crying and was fast asleep.
I place him back in the crib before turning around to face River.
His eyes don't leave mine as he stares at me, intrigued.
"Forest?"
He snaps out of his trance. "That was...wow."
I chuckle nervously. "Thanks, I guess."
"I'm serious, Devil." He walks towards me and stops only inches away. "That was amazing."
I look down shyly. "Thank you."
The Angel Rose Paris is shy. Someone call 911!
Shut up!
He places his finger under my chin and gently lifts my head up, making my grey eyes lock with his green ones.
"You'll make a great mother someday." He states genuinely, making me bite my lip.
"Stop biting your lip!" He groans.
And his lips meet mine.
