Part 11 ✿

"You... you want to send me back in time?"

Yeonjun nodded with a serious look. He had entered the younger's room and told him what he decided to do.

"What do you think?"

"You... you want to send me back in time?" Beomgyu repeated, tightening his clutch on the teddy tiger. He forgot that that was even possible, Yeonjun's ebys really is one of the coolest.

The older sat beside the raven haired who looked troubled and put his arm around his shoulder "Since you repeated what you said, I'll do the same. What do you think?"

"I..." Beomgyu was at a complete loss for words, can he really go back in time and save Taehyun? This all felt too good to be true, he just couldn't believe it "I mean like... how is it going to work? Time travel is your ebys..."

"It's easy peasy, I can very well temporarily transfer my power to you, but of course as soon as I do that, my ebys will be gone for good."

Beomgyu abruptly got up, the hands that were holding the plush began shaking, inside him he was thrilled of this sudden abnormal opportunity to go into the past. But...

"I-I can't! This is too risky! I'm not a time traveler I will mess up everything!"

Yeonjun smiled "Jessica will be with you" he then got up as well and hugged his cousin. "Yo you better just say yes, my ebys will disappear anytime this week so it's now or never"

Happy tears started rolling down Beomgyu's cheeks and Yeonjun stroked his hair "You know... ever since I heard the news about Taehyun. Time traveling was the first thing that popped into my mind, we can't let him go if we have the power to prevent it, and I'm glad that my last days as an ebyser will be about saving someone's life."

"C-Can I really see Taehyun again?"

Yeonjun poked his cheek "Even better, you can save him"

Beomgyu pulled away and smiled softly at his cousin "Well..Okay!"

"BUT!!!!" Yeonjun yelled and stuck his index to the

ceiling "what you said is true, this is probably the riskiest thing you will ever do." He bluntly said.

Beomgyu put on his determined expression back "If it's for Taehyun.. I'm willing to take the risk. I would do anything."

The older cousin started his 'poking Beomgyu's cheeks repeatedly' ritual and teased "Oho Oh my.. You basically want to marry him at this point-"

"I do."

Hearing that unexpected answer from the younger, Yeonjun ceased his ritual "O-oh.

Anyway I can't send you off until tomorrow."

Beomgyu furrowed his eyebrows "Why not?"

Yeonjun inhaled since he's about to utter a series of words without taking a rest "BECAUSE, there are tons of warnings and instructions that I need to give you, time traveling is not something to take lightly which is why I don't use it anymore. ALSO you need to read that sheet of paper that Kai wrote for you. How are you supposed to save him if you don't even know what caused his death?" He now exhaled.

"I see.. okay I'm going to read it today, you give me the instructions tomorrow then I leave."

Yeonjun gave him a thumbs up.

It was still February 4th, Beomgyu decided to sit down on his bed with that sheet of paper, the text on it was extremely long so he was getting nervous. He took a deep breath and started reading,

Ok so,

The thing is, Taehyun's rebystraint has been doing him more bad than good. His internal fireball is always growing in size, it just keeps growing and growing. The random outbursts of fire that he was having, were actually helping the fireball to stay at a non changing size, regulating it. The outburst takes a big chunk of his internal fire every time, and as a result, the ball decreases in size.

It's really hard to explain in words what I mean.

But since the rebystraint was preventing the unleashes from happening, the ball was constantly just growing without reducing to the point that his body just couldn't take it anymore.

And well, the ball blew up inside of him. His biggest explosion so far, not what he usually gets. And there's no way one can survive that.

After years of analysis and research that were made on him. The doctors and scientists ended up discovering that fact pretty late, they warned him in a mail that it could happen on that day. They calculated that it would take like 5 years for the ball to completely blow up. And Taehyun got his rebystraint on the 28th of January 2015, which is exactly 5 years prior to his death

Even if he had removed his rebystraint priorly, it was already too late. He went to the hospital on that day for no real reason, he was already doomed to die anyway. The doctors just tried their best to save him, one last time. And looks like they wrongly estimated the time of death, it was supposed to happen around night, so they unfortunately died as well from the detonation.

You're probably telling yourself "So it's just a rebystraint problem?" Unfortunately no..

Taehyun's ebys as a whole (excluding the fire outbursts) was actually shortening his life this whole time. You see, only four ebysers in the world have the ability to control a classical element, Taehyun having the fire one.

4 out of 1.4 billion ebyser have this ebys, one of the worlds most powerful and rarest ebyses. Like just having the ebys itself shortness your life, even if you don't use it. Your body just deteriorates 24/7 little by little, the pills were mainly for that issue with the rebystraint being for the outbursts issue.

Those 3 other people who are basically Taehyun's family are probably already dead by now. They cannot live up to see their twenties for a fact, well unless they stay close with a specific person, but I don't have a lot of info about that. Neh.

Taehyun expected to die at the age of 20 but looks like it was 18...

I saw on the news that the ebyser who controls the earth element, caused a monstrous earthquake that killed a whole country including themselves, Yea that's what I mean by 'powerful'

Remember on January 27 when Taehyun suddenly

left the canteen that day and I told you that he went home? It was actually to write his letter to you. He then gave the folder to your brother. And on the day of his passing, he added more things to it (at the hospital) then gave it to me, so I can add this message and then I gave it to Taehyung hyung again.

So that's it hyung, our Taehyun was just destined to pass away at a young age, and it seems like there's absolutely no way of preventing it.

All I have to say now is: screw the blazing ebys.

"Huening Kai don't say that!!" Beomgyu yelled while scrunching the paper without realising it. "There has to be a way for him to live!"

But unfortunately what Kai said was kind of a fact, as of now at least.

'This whole time... Taehyun knew that he would pass before he turns 20? He knew..? And besides all that he was still being himself.. living life like normal..'

Beomgyu felt a tear of vexation rolling down his cheek 'This is so unfair... Taehyun doesn't deserve this. It's not his fault if he was born with that ebys....'

He clenched his fists "I swear I'm going to get him back"

February 5th 2020

Soobin, Yeonjun and Huening Kai all came over to see Beomgyu off. Well of course Yeonjun had to be there, duh.

They were all sitting at the dining table, Taehyung included and Huening Kai started "Honestly dude, this is the best gift you could ever give him, like seriously."

Soobin sighed "The birthday gift that I had for him is complete trash compared to this. Like what can beat life??"

"Happy birthday Taehyun-ah!" Yeonjun boohooed while grimacing and also hitting the table for no apparent reason, like there is no reason that could explain why he did that.

"Okay time to get serious now, MATE." He looked at Beomgyu sternly.

'What's with the sudden mood switch?'

"It is now time, for your directions. Pal."  Yeonjun said chin up feeling superior to everyone all of a sudden.

Beomgyu nodded and prepared himself for what Yeonjun had to say.

"Little things that you change will significantly alter the future. And remember, you're basically travelling to a parallel universe. A universe where no one knows that you time travelled, not even me, none of us. Everything will happen exactly the same way unless you tamper with the events, which is what you will do. DON'T BE CARELESS I SWEAR TO GOSH!"

Beomgyu looked scared "You're putting a tad too much pressure on me cousin"

"No interruptions sir, I mean pal.

You can travel to different times, for example you can go from 2019 to 2008 then back to 2015 if this helps you to save Taehyun. But bear in mind that you CAN'T come back to the timeline we're currently in. So if you make any mistakes, well that's that. This is why it's important 'to save.' And I recommend you to save on the 28th of January, before Taehyun goes to the hospital. I won't explain to you what saving is, it's kind of self explanatory and Jess might do it for you.

If you stay in the same timeline for more than a day, then that timeline will be permanent and you will lose my ebys, so seriously be careful.

When you feel like you've done all the necessary changes, you load your save. And you live on in that timeline!"

Beomgyu rested his head on the table "This is way too much information to grasp all at once hyung... And why do I feel like if I make the slightest mistake, the world will end."

Taehyung ruffled his hair "But you're still willing to do it right?"

"Of course"

"Nice mate!" Huening said.

Yeonjun crossed his arms and his legs "THERE'S MORE! When you decide to go forward or backwards in time, Jessica will ask you this question: "Do you wish to go as yourself or as an outsider?"

If you go as an outsider, there will basically be 2 Beomgyus at the same time, the one from that timeline and you. But when you go as 'yourself' well there will just be one Beomgyu, you will take the place of the one in that timeline. Bear that in mind pal."

His younger cousin nodded repeatedly, like he was taking the information in but he actually wasn't.

Huening spoke up "I'm not really sure if I get it...But will our pal still have his future sight ebys?"

"Yea. That's actually a very useful tool for a time traveler and wait... I will make sure that you can perfectly control your ebys, Jess will help you with that"

Soobin gasped "Wow Jessica is amazing!"

"Oh and. There's a slight chance that having Jessica in your brain will make you lose some brain cells. Literally."

"....Should I be concerned?"

"Dunno."

Yeonjun looked up at the ceiling, trying to find something else that he can tell Beomgyu, but he thinks everything essential has already been said.

"So mate, are you ready to go?"

'Why are they calling me mate and pal all of a sudden?'

Beomgyu didn't hesitate for a second when he replied "Yes" he wasn't confident at first but.. now he's absolutely determined to do it. He's also bringing a bag that contains the folder with the sheets of paper, the necklaces and also the teddy tiger for comfort if he messes up.

His older brother gave him a big hug "Be careful Beom"

"Yess! Goodbye PAL" Huening Kai shouted "Don't forget that Jessica is with you!"

Soobin gave him a thumbs up "I know you can do it, we trust you!" He then chuckled "When Taehyun is safe. Anytime during 2020, Could you tell past Soobin to eat less? I've been getting stomach aches these days"

Beomgyu let out a small giggle "Noted"

Huening pondered "If you do save Taehyun, the 'us' from that universe won't even be aware what terrible thing we escaped..."

Yeonjun removed the rebystraint that he has been wearing on his finger then held his cousin's hands "Bye mate, Tell me when you're ready and I'll send you off"

This is it, Beomgyu thought. It's now time, there's no turning back. 'I'm coming Tyun-ah'

He made a determined expression "I'm ready."

Yeonjun smiled then whispered "The truth is inside"

But before Beomgyu could react to that, everything went black and it began.
