Don't forget that this story is fictional, well obviously, things that happen here are completely beyond normality, thus paranormal.

In this world, 20% of the population is born gifted with a mysterious supernatural ability that we call ebys. This power usually disappear when the individual enters their twenties.

Someone who holds an ebys is called an ebyser.

Non-ebysers dominate the worldwide population. But in this school, (Ebys academy, the school the characters attend) it's the utter opposite.

And there aren't any ebists there, people who think ebysers are mistakes of nature or some kind of mutants. Which isn't true, they're humans too.

If one's Ebys is considered too strong and a danger to themselves or people around them they are usually expected to wear a Rebystraint. They come in many forms: earrings, hats, bracelets, stickers, etc. Wearing these items will limit or disable the ebys's power.
