Diana felt useless at times, she could see so many things going on behind everyone's back. Now she had to help a fellow agent retrieve his memories. She wasn't sure what would happen or if he would go crazy and she would have to send him back to HQ and then everyone in this period would notice he went missing as well. So many thoughts ran through her head as she looked out the window. She could see a few of the ladies in waiting gossiping, no doubt about the king's many infidelities. Anne was a favorite and everyone knew that, which meant that Camile would have to do something to earn the kings favor even more. No matter what, she knew that she would have to come to Anne's aide somehow she just wondered what would happen to make that come into play.
She heard her door open behind her.
"You called for me my lady?" Brendan asked as he carefully shut the door behind him.
Taking a deep breath, Diana looked down at the watch in her hand. This had been his when she taught him self defense. A lesson she would clearly have to reteach him in the not too distant future. Gripping it, she turned and looked to Brendan who was looking at her confused. He had no idea why she called him to her room but he feared she would get rid of him just as Camile did before her.
"You have no reason to be afraid of me Brendan. I have a gift for you, I think it may help you with that little memory problem you think you may have." Diana said as she walked up to him. "Hold out your non dominate arm."
Brendan did so without question. Looking to his eyes, Diana smiled as she put the watch onto his wrist. He completely trusted her. Her heart was warmed by this fact and yet she feared it would be the last time he truly trusted her.
"Close your eyes and I will help restore those memories." She spoke in a kind whisper to him.
Once again he did as she asked. His eyes were closed and she took in a deep breath. Diana pressed the red button on the watch and it activated. All his memories that had been erased were brought back into his mind. He would remember all about who he really was, the agency he worked for and hopefully how he got dragged into this time period in the first place. Diana waited on baited breath hoping he wouldn't have a complete mental breakdown right in front of her.
"Diana, activate your suit. He will need a familiar face and your suit will make you look just as he would remember you." Abigail told her daughter through the ear piece.
Nodding, Diana pressed her watch and he dress disappeared. A black suit appeared on her body, her guns not at her side but her nametag in place, the crest of the agency, and her agent number all appeared. Her hair was put up in a high pony-tail. She would look just as she did the first time he met her.
"All brain waves normal and functional. Nothing bad so far. We are almost done, 10% left to complete." Fred said through the ear piece as well.
Diana nodded to herself as she stood before him waiting for his eyes to open.
"Transfer complete." The watch's AI voice spoke from Simon's watch.
Blinking, the man before her opened his eyes. Diana was prepared incase she would have to knock him out but she really hoped that would not be the case. Instead he looked at her name and agent number. Instead of freaking out, Simon smiled and grabbed Diana and hugged her tightly. She froze for a moment but then hugged him back.
"Simon?" Diana questioned.
"I knew someone would notice I was gone, she went mental, she wouldn't leave the time she was in and knocked me out. Next thing I knew were in a hut somewhere and she was messing with my watch...after that I don't know a thing." Simon spoke rather quickly and Diana blinked a few times trying to process the information he just told her.
"Damn, I knew I hated this woman." Diana said pulling away from Simon but right away making eye contact with him. "I am so sorry Simon, you have to be a field agent and help me out now. If not I can send you right back to HQ bu-"
She started but Simon put his hands on her shoulders and shook his head.
"I agree, I will be a field agent and help you out. I will do anything to make up for the mistake I caused." Simon said as he touched his watch and looked over the briefing report.
Diana was shocked and impressed, he didn't completely lose it. Instead he accepted it and decided to face it head on. She watched him in awe as he made notes on things he had remembered from here. For example that Camile would try to get each of the ladies in waiting thrown out or killed, starting with Anne.
"I'm your lover?" Simon asked catching Diana off guard.
"Well, it's a long story and yes, you are my lover and as far as Camile knows a damn good one at that." Diana said walking up to his side and Simon watching her the whole time.
"You probably didn't know this but I had a crush on you back at HQ." Simon admitted shly.
"She liked you too, also we all knew." Fred and Abigail answered through the watches.
Diana blushed and shut the watches off. She turned to Simon and smiled her best smile.
"She's gonna accuse Anne of something. How are we gonna stop her?" Simon asked Diana.
"We are going to take her side, after all being the Queen's cousin has some privileges right?" she sighed and prayed her answer was right.
Simon would continue to play along as Brendan, no one would know he had his true memories back. That night, as the crowd was gathered for dinner Camile made her move. One that no one truly saw coming since the person she was accusing was so new at court.
"What has been brought to your attention love?'' the king asked Camile and both Simon and Diana looked at one another waiting to see what lie would flow from her mouth.
"She has committed incest my king." Camile said bowing before both the King and Queen.
Diana shut her eyes and held her tongue. Anne was shocked and looked around the room at all the eyes that were now upon her. What would happen? Would anyone believe her? Anne was about to speak when another stood up for her.
"Lady Camile, you do know all the gossip do you not?" Diana said as she stood and looked right at Camile.
The King and Queen watched to see what Camile would say to defend herself.
"One must know as mush as possible." Camile smiled.
"True, but does that make every statement that comes from your lips true? Dare I inquire to where you received this information?" Diana asked clearly challenging the woman's word.
Camile was silent for a long time. In truth she had no reply for Diana and that was something Diana knew. Camile had begun to play with her necklace, clearly she was trying to think of a way to dig herself out of the grave she had dug.
"A high person of confidence told me as much, I can not tell their name out of the utmost confidence." She replied and licked her lips.
"In other words you made it up?" Diana spoke as she looked Camile right in the eyes.
"What right does she to question me my king?'' Camile asked turning to the king begging for help.
Henry in turn looked to his wife who had a serious look on her face.
"My cousin has no reason to lie, she simply wants to make sure my life as well as those of my ladies are well cared for and never accused of such a heinous crime." The queen said with a flat line upon her face, clearly she was tired of Camile's lies as well.
The king seemed to agree with her, he waved Camile away and Diana breathed a sigh of relief. She had saved Anne this time but she knew that the wench wouldn't go down without a fight. The rest of dinner, Camile kept her eyes on Diana and Anne noticed. What Camile didn't know was Anne had supports as well and they had now seen her as a threat. Walking back to her room, Diana tried to think of what might happen next. Then she felt the back of her dress be pulled backwards. Turning back she saw Camile with a dagger in her hand. Crap...
