Chapter 4 â Letâs Build A Hut
Muddy water is still water.
I was able to get some hydration, but it tasted awful! Now⦠about the stranded elf. She was next to me, trying to vomit rainbow-colored liquid. It seems she couldnât stomach the muddy water.
Iâll survive even if I have to drink mud water.
ââ¦Bleh. This tastes awful.â
âItâs better than dying. By the way, Elf, whatâs your name?â
âI-Iâm sorry for not introducing myself earlier. I am Skor Zlonitse, washed up here from the elven nation of Borodin. Iâm not much, but please take care of me.â
Skor greets by placing three fingers on the ground. She bows her head very politely, and I feel a little embarrassed. â¦Wait, is she really an elf? Skor is a pretty cute name, though.
â¦hmm?
Skor⦠I feel like Iâve heard that name somewhere before. Or maybe not. Oh well, it doesnât matter.
âI am Rasty, the former third prince of the Empire.â
âTh-the prince of the Empire!?â
âThatâs right. Do you have a problem with that?â
âNo, butâ¦former?â
âI was exiled by my darn father. But I decided to live on this âuninhabited islandâ. Iâll build the strongest nation and make my father regret it. Skor, was it? Will you help me too?â
âEh?! Me too? But wait, Isnât it better to escape from this uninhabited island and return to the continent? I donât think we can survive here.â
Skor looked at me anxiously. Certainly, our current situation was unsettling. We were in a desperate situation where we couldnât even produce enough water. But there is always hope.
In my hand.
âDonât worry. I have theãUninhabited Island Developmentãskill. Skor, with your help, I will create a more comfortable environment than a nobleâs life.â
âReally?â
âI swear it.â
âReally, really?â
âReally, really.â
âWell then, shall we give it a try?â
âA try? Why? We canât leave this uninhabited island anyway.â
âWell, you see, Iâm an elf.â
âSo?â
ââ¦oh well, never mind. Then, Rasty-san, nice to meet you.â
We shook hands, and the agreement was made here. Iâm lucky. I thought I would spend my whole life alone, but now I get to live on this uninhabited island with such a beautiful elf.
Iâll do my best for Skorâs sake. â¦Oh, I see, I can work hard if itâs for someone else.
â
Skor went out to procure food. She said she was going to look for nuts and fruits. I was worried about letting her go alone, but division of labor is more efficient for this kind of work. I have things I need to do too.
This time, Iâm going to make a âhutâ instead of âswampâ. The sun is starting to go down, so it will be difficult if I donât make a place to sleep. To make the hut, I need âwoodâ and âstonesâ. It seems that I only need â10â of each, and the cost is low. I can make it right away.
As expected of theãUninhabited Island Developmentãskill. It seems like making a hut is a piece of cake. Alright, letâs start collecting.
