Chapter 35 – Holy Knight ②

Johannes drew out a lavishly decorated ‘rapier’. That’s right, now that I think about it, he said it was for the sake of emphasizing speed.

I also aimed Gale Tulle towards him and remained on guard. I had seen Johannes’ power before, and had heard of his numerous exploits. If I underestimated him, I would be done for.

“Skor, go back home.”

“B-but…”

“You’re still naked, you’ll catch a cold.”

“Okay. I’ll come back as soon as I change.”

As I watched Skor go back inside the house, I confront Johannes.

“Do you think you can defeat me, Rasty?”

“Who knows? This is my first time facing a human opponent. I won’t know until I try.”

“…That’s right, you have no actual combat experience. That’s why you’re weak! I’ll hurt your arms and legs so you can’t move. And then, I’ll take you back to the Empire.”

Johannes stomped on the ground and pointed his rapier at me…. What speed! He was already in front of me…I have to protect myself with Gale Tulle…!

No, it’s too late.

I can’t keep up with his speed.

When I was about to rely on the defense equipment, suddenly, the rapier was deflected, and even Johannes’ body was thrown into the air.

…What happened?

I couldn’t understand the situation.

While grasping the situation, I noticed that another knight had fallen. He had been taken down without us noticing. Johannes managed to land on the ground and was surprised.

Johannes was pale and trembling. Is Alfred really someone who can make that man so frightened?

“That I am. However, I am a butler who serves Rusty Vermillion-sama, not His Majesty the Emperor. If it means protecting my master, I will defeat even a former subordinate.”

Alfred wielded his sword with incredible skill and glared at Johannes like a hawk with a unique stance… He looked really cool.

Johannes becomes weak at the presence of Alfred. Oi oi, even though he had been talking so big earlier, he must have been too scared. Is Alfred really that scary? I’ve never seen him fight before, so I don’t know how strong he is…

“What will you do?”

“…I surrender.”

Johannes threw his rapier to the ground and raised his hands in surrender… What the heck? Seriously? Why did he give up so easily?

“Hey… Johannes, just go back to the empire obediently.”

“…Ah, challenging Lord Snyder was the height of recklessness. Once he appeared, defeat was inevitable. I will leave early.”

Johannes picks up the fallen knight and heads for the beach. The other one should be there too. Well, even I wouldn’t go so far as to slash at an unarmed opponent from behind.

Wait, so Alfred is considered such a formidable opponent. I didn’t know I had such an amazing man serving as my butler.

“Johannes! Tell my father that I’m somehow still alive!”

“…I understand. But Rasty… the Dvorak Empire won’t give up on you. It wouldn’t be strange if the Knight Commander comes next! Be prepared, d*mn it…!!”

By the way, the ‘Knight Commander’, huh.
