âGrandpa, why are you here?â Alexia asked, hurriedly getting up and watching Grandpa Lancaster walking in and leading a few people who held tonics.
Not getting a response, Alexia tried again. âGrandpa, have a seat here.â
Even though Grandpa Lancaster smiled kindly at Alexia, she couldnât help being nervous when she got up and pulled a chair over for him.
âHa-ha, alright. Aily, you have a seat too.â
Grandpa Lancaster smilingly sat down and clasped Alexiaâs hand, âI heard that you were hospitalized last night. The supplements are especially prepared for you. How do you feel now?â
âIâm fine, Grandpa, you donât have to come here specially for me. You couldâve just called me.â
âIt doesnât matter.â Grandpa Lancaster looked at Alexiaâs belly as he asked in a concerned tone, âHow do you feel now? Did you want to vomit, or maybe do you want to eat something?â
âWh-what?â Alexia was stunned. She just had stomach problems; why would Grandpa ask her these questions?
âWhy are you still so unconcerned? Pay more attention to your diet now.â Grandpa Lancaster said in earnestness.
After hearing the news last night, he was certain she must be pregnant.
Seeing her confused expression, Grandpa Lancaster reminded her again, âIf there is any discomfort, remember to tell the doctor. I donât want anything to happen to my great-grandson.â
âGreat-grandson?â
âThis⦠Grandpa, I was hospitalized because of a stomachache, not because of pregnancy.â
So big a mistake! How could she get pregnant so easily after getting laid with Chaim only once?
âNot pregnant?â Grandpa Lancasterâs smile immediately disappeared and he asked unhappily, âReally?
Donât you lie to me?â
âGrandpa?â Chaim entered Alexiaâs room with breakfast and stopped in surprise when he saw his grandfather. âWhy are you here?â
âIs there a problem with me being here?â Grandpa Lancasterâs expression grew sullen, âYouâve been married for three years but havenât had a child! Are you planning to piss me off?â
Grandpa Lancasterâs son and daughter-in-law, Chaimâs parents, passed away early, and he only had one grandson. If Chaim and Alexia didnât have children quickly, who would the future of the Lancaster family be passed on to?
âGrandpa, donât worry. We have our own plan.â Chaim put breakfast on the table and patiently comforted Grandpa Lancaster. âAily, am I right?â
Chaim looked at Alexia and because he rarely called her by her first name, Alexia stuttered in her answer.
âHuh? Yeah⦠yes, Grandpa, he is right.â Alexia answered, her face reddening.
âThatâs the first time Chaim called me by my first name.â Alexia was happy in secret.
âHumph!â Grandpa Lancaster saw through their ruse, âFine! Iâll wait. But donât even think about coming back to visit me until you have a child!â
âGrandpa, donât worry.â Chaim stepped forward to help Grandpa Lancaster up, âYou shall go back and rest first. There are too many bacteria in the hospital.â
âThatâs right, master.â The Lancaster familyâs old housekeeper also stepped forward to persuade, âLook, the young master is waiting to have breakfast with the young lady. How about we leave them to their meal?â
âAlright.â Hearing this, Grandpa Lancaster started calming down, and stood up to leave before retorting, âTake this matter seriously. Donât try to fool me!â
They left quickly and the room was quiet once more. Alexia was relieved, but soon became embarrassed again. If she couldnât have a child⦠Would Grandpa ask her to divorce Chaim?
Their marriage was originally set by Grandpa⦠But Chaim made it quite clear on their wedding day he didnât want to even think about having children.
Chaim turned around, and felt a little guilty seeing Alexia sitting on her bed with a melancholy face, âYou donât need to worry. I will solve it.â
How could he solve it? Alexia looked up in surprise. Did he agree to have a child with her? Before she could say anything else, Chaim continued.
âBreakfast is here, donât forget to eat. Aunt Song will come here later; I need to go back to work now.â
Chaim didnât seem interested in continuing the topic and left after giving Alexia a few more instructions.
Alexia sat on the bed in a daze, her heart hurt intensely⦠It was the same situation. He didnât want to have children with her.

After several days of observation in the hospital, Alexia was finally allowed to leave the hospital.
Chaim didnât visit her even once during her time in the hospital. Their relationship seemed to have returned to the starting point.
âMs. Alexia, I will go down to arrange the driver first,â Aunt Song said, grabbing Alexiaâs duffel bag and leaving the room.
Alexia headed for the elevator after washing her face. But as soon as she reached for the elevator button, someone suddenly grabbed her arm. Alexia turned around and saw her motherâs anxious face.
âMom, why are you here?â
âAily, how much money you have, give it to me. Now!â Mrs. White said, reaching for Alexiaâs purse.
Alexia was taken aback, and subconsciously took out her wallet. âMom, what happened?â
