The next day was the schoolâs classroom hygiene assessment. Everyone was busy cleaning their classrooms.
Qu Xiao was wiping the tables and chairs when she suddenly saw Jiang Xueâer barging in from the classroom door and walking straight to her.
The surrounding students all stopped moving and curiously sized up Jiang Xueâer as they discussed softly, âSheâs the prettiest girl in the class next door, right? Even she knows Qu Xiao? I heard that Jiang Xueâer and Qu Qi are close. She must be here looking for trouble!â
Only now did Qu Xiao find out that Jiang Xueâer was also studying in the same high school as her. But what did she want from her?
Bang! Jiang Xueâer slammed her phone on the desk. Her phone screen was full of intimate photos of her and Ling Chi shopping at the furniture market that day.
âDid you distribute these photos?â
Jiang Xueâerâs eyes were red as she said with an exaggerated expression, âHow could you do this? I thought you were my best friend.â
Qu Xiao was stunned for a moment. Then, she looked at the photos carefully and replied in a light tone, âThese photos werenât taken by me. I was standing in front of you at that time, which doesnât align with the angles in which these photos were taken. This has nothing to do with me. Donât accuse me.â
Since they were in school, Qu Xiao said nicely to Jiang Xueâer so as to not embarrass her.
Jiang Xueâer saw her arrogant and cold face and became even more angry and resentful towards her.
Ever since the photos were released, Ling Chi had cut off all contact with her.
Ling Chi wasnât even willing to listen to her explanation. He only thought about how to explain the photos to Qu Zhen.
Jiang Xueâer blamed everything on Qu Xiao. She felt the gazes around her and deliberately said in an aggrieved tone, âI know that you used to like Ling Chi. But now, youâre already married to Shang Yan. Why are you still getting involved in his relationships?â
âIâm your good friend. Iâm just worried for you...â
Jiang Xueâer deliberately distorted the truth, trying to make Qu Xiao sound like someone who was two-timing.
The corners of Qu Xiaoâs lips curled up into a cold smile. She looked at Jiang Xueâerâs smug expression and crossed her arms as she leaned against the desk. âGood friend?â
âWhen I was bullied in the Qu family to the point where I wasnât even given food, as my best friend, where were you?â
âAt the Qu familyâs dinner party, you helped me pick out an evening gown to deliberately embarrass myself in public. Have you forgotten all of this?â
Qu Xiao narrated their past clearly. The gossipy female classmates looked at Jiang Xueâer with disdain. They did not expect that the seemingly gentle and kind class belle would be so vicious in private.
Jiang Xueâer wanted to retort, but Qu Xiao raised her hand to stop her.
âYou clearly knew about my relationship with Ling Chi back then, but you still frequently asked him out to meet alone then. You said that you cared about me. How come I didnât feel any care at all!â
âInstead, I felt that you were using me as a tool and stepping stone.â
Qu Xiao stared coldly at Jiang Xueâer.
The class was in an uproar. Jiang Xueâer was shocked. Her fair face flushed red.
âDonât listen to her nonsense!â
âSheâs distorting the truth and making up lies!â
Jiang Xueâer wanted to seek the support of the surrounding students, but no one was willing to stand up for her and support her.
Qu Xiao looked at her flustered appearance indifferently as her gaze fell on the photos on her phone screen.
That day at the furniture market, Ling Chi and Jiang Xueâer were only there for half an hour. Other than her, no one else was present. Could it be... Shang Yan?
A thought popped up in Qu Xiaoâs mind, and Shang Yanâs jealous face immediately appeared in her mind.
Seeing that she was in a daze, Jiang Xueâerâs eyes rolled as she thought of a plan.
She deliberately pulled Qu Xiaoâs arm outward and said, âXiao, it seems that there is a misunderstanding between us.â
âLetâs go out and have a good chat. Is that alright?â
Qu Xiao played along. She wanted to see what kind of tricks Jiang Xueâer had up her sleeves.
The two of them came to the front of the stairs outside the classroom. The class door was only slightly open. The students all peeked outside and pricked up their ears, wanting to listen to their conversation.
Seeing this, Jiang Xueâer deliberately pulled Qu Xiaoâs hand and pushed it towards herself.
She lost her balance and fell backwards. Her entire body fell onto the stairs and she rolled down a few steps.
Jiang Xueâerâs ankles and knees were all bleeding. She held her ankles and her eyes were filled with sparkling tears as she said with a sobbing tone, âXiao, I know you hate me, but you canât injure me like this. My foot...â
