Chapter 45 - Accident

It was cold and windy. The red light at the intersection turned green. Qu Xiao drove the sports car that Shang Yan had left for her to the Qu Group building alone.

The weather was foggy, and she did not notice that a van was driving out of the fork in the road. It was secretly following her, and it was maintaining a relatively fast speed.

There was a section of the road from the villa area to the city that was being rebuilt. Qu Xiao followed the guidance of the navigation system and chose a somewhat remote path.

The van suddenly accelerated. On the muddy road section, the driver wearing a cap rammed into Qu Xiao’s car.

“My wife is frightened. I’m afraid she can’t continue receiving questions here.” Qu Xiao’s eyes were red. When she heard Shang Yan’s voice, she staggered and threw herself into his arms.

She tugged at Shang Yan’s collar with both hands and said in a soft and delicate voice, “I’m scared!”

Shang Yan was heartbroken. He hugged Qu Xiao tightly and coaxed in a hoarse voice, “I’m here, don’t be scared!”

The policeman’s eyes sized up the two of them. He thought of how rationally and calm Qu Xiao was just five minutes ago. She was even able to recite the other party’s license plate number accurately despite having just been in an accident, which provided the police with important facts.
