Jing Wan and the two elders drank a bit of warm tea and nibbled on some snacks, as they idly chatted, very much pleasing.
Afterwards, not long later, Li Hong Yuan just appeared.
Jing Wan was surprised inside, âThis quick?â She originally thought that perhaps sheâll have to wait until itâs time to leave the palace before seeing him again.
Li Hong Yuan waved his hand, exempting Sir Luo and Luo Old Madam from bowing. These two also werenât the least bit humble either. What was that, âetiquette cannot be abolishedâ? Clearly they wonât hold back towards the person that stole their granddaughter.
Li Hong Yuan sat down by Jing Wanâs side, directly picking up Jing Wanâs tea cup and taking two sips, before finally opening his mouth, âA complete fall out.â
His expression and tone were all very indifferent. Having a disagreement with someone that raised one for that many years, even if oneâs mood wasnât that bad, for better or worst, it still shouldnât be like as if nothing happened.
The two Luo family elders looked to one another. In other words, the relationship between Jin Qinwang and Noble Consort Su seemingly was even more complicated than theyâd imagined. Moreover, looking at it, it was obvious that Jin Qinwang occupied the upper hand. Setting aside how Noble Consort Su treated Jing Wan, on this bit, it was truly very disgusting, but she was the person that raised him for twenty some years after all, so their impression towards this was still not too good.
He was able to build up that much power under the eyes of that many people, yet able to let everyone all think that he was powerless with no influence. Such deep calculations, the hand reaching the heavens, yet also this fickle and cold, if he wanted to do something to Wan Wan, Wan Wan definitely would get played until thereâs nothing left. âââAlright, how Li Hong Yuan was to others, they didnât care. Even if Noble Consort Su gets killed by him, they wonât care either. The one they worried about was forever just Jing Wan.
Li Hong Yuan had their expressions taken in, yet didnât say anything. How he was towards Jing Wan, he didnât need to use his mouth to tell others. He will only use his actions to prove. Sooner or later, there will be a day where he will let those that genuinely care for Jing Wan be absolutely reassured towards him, and every time mentioning Jing Wan, they will all say she had good fortune, marrying a good husband. Of course, this wasnât really him deliberately doing for others to see. After all, as time passes, outsiders will eventually know, and what they will say, one can for the most part guess.
Jing Wanâs attention was on Li Hong Yuan the entire time, âCanât you let someone prepare a cup for you. Itâll only take a moment.â
Li Hong Yuanâs line of sight landed on her lips, âWhat hasnât this prince tasted before, would one be bothered by this?â
These words, probably only young girls that havenât experienced anything wouldnât understand the deeper meaning. It was fine messing around in private, but this while, in front of the two eldersâ¦â¦â¦
Jing Wanâs face immediately exploded. Never mind now, even in her past life, this kind of things, bringing out in front of the elders, would also be quite shameful. Jing Wan flew into a rage out of embarrassment, subconsciously extending her foot to kick Li Hong Yuan. After kicking, she finally realized in hindsight that sheâd done something stupid again. To be having a âloverâs quarrelâ and whatnot in front of her grandparents, Jing Wan wished that she could find a crack to squeeze into.
The corner of her eye secretly glanced towards the two elders across from her. They were very calmly drinking tea, very tacitly chatting with one another. It wasnât forcefully finding a topic, but rather very natural.
Jing Wan relaxed a breath, forcing herself to calm down, letting the heat on her face fade as quickly as possible. Then, she ruthlessly shot a glare at Li Hong Yuan. This bastard, canât he pay attention to the setting a little?
Li Hong Yuan still just laughed and didnât speak. His wife also had times where she liked to deceive herself.
âââLaugh, laugh, laugh, whatâs so funny, still laughing?
Luo Old Madam saw Jing Wanâs rare look of embarrassment. She really was becoming more and more delicate, this little temper also growing. This was something sheâd spent several years trying to achieve, yet was all unable to. Then, seeing the obvious little footprint on the hem of Jin Qinwangâs gown, as the wife, having the guts to kick oneâs qinwang husband, this granddaughter of hers was probably also the first. But this granddaughter still didnât realize just how shocking of a thing sheâd done, and looking to Jin Qinwang, it was a look of neither hurt nor tickled, not only not getting angry, but even lovingly smiling with indulgence.
One can see the truth in the details. In private, their interactions were probably even more unreserved. Thatâs why, her worries perhaps really were a bit excessive? At least, judging from the present, it was indeed so.
On the inside, she still lightly sighed. Prior to Jing Wan marrying, regardless of how she doted on her, although in reality, because her bodyâs condition was displayed there, Wan Wan ultimately remained rational from beginning to end, restraining herself. And towards her, this grandmother, she attentively took care of, not needing others to worry, not giving others trouble, doing things that many all wouldnât be able to do even after experiencing through hardship. Jing Wan not reaching her ideal and just marrying, to say she wasnât disappointed and regretful inside was a lie. After all, as a wife, one would only have more hardships, and further canât act like a pampered young daughter.
(T/N: Itâs only ever subtly noted throughout the novel, but Luo Old Madam isnât really as healthy as she appears. A few years prior to the start of the novel, she actually almost passed away from illness, but survived through willpower because she was worried about leaving Jing Wan alone.)
But looking at it now, Wan Wan was the complete opposite. If not for being spoiled by her husband, it was definitely impossible for her to be like this. Moreover, it wasnât the ordinary kind of spoiling. Only the kind where she completely didnât need to worry about anything would it be like this. And with Li Hong Yuanâs status and position, as long as he was willing, he completely can accomplish this.
It was obvious, he not only was willing, but even did exactly just that. Speaking from this bit, Luo Old Madam felt that perhaps she should thank Jin Qinwang.
Jing Wan retracted her gaze, inadvertently catching Luo Old Madamâs line of sight again, her breathing growing a bit heavier as she lowered her eyes, obediently pretending to be an ostrich.
Jing Wan felt embarrassed, but Li Hong Yuan was completely unconcerned. They were the people closest to Wan Wan. Him being intimate with Wan Wan, at most it was just pretending to lecture a few words, but on the inside, it was mostly still feeling happy. Thatâs why, some things didnât really have that many misgivings. Li Hong Yuan was someone that did things as he pleased, but in reality, on Jing Wanâs matters, he actually cared quite a lot, caring about her and her everything.
Li Hong Yuan and Luo Old Madam glanced at one another, both having a tacit understanding.
Li Hong Yuan idly chatted with the two Luo family elders, waiting for Jing Wan to voluntarily have her head âpulled outâ. Because they were all considerate, Jing Wan, this ostrich, didnât hide her head for long.
They didnât ask about matters regarding Noble Consort Su, yet Li Hong Yuan voluntarily mentioned, for nothing else other than wanting to ease their hearts, because they wholeheartedly cared for Jing Wan.
In other words, Li Hong Yuan treating Noble Consort Su as such wasnât because he was heartless, but rather having its own reason.
There was just the four of them present. The people serving them had all withdrawn far away. Based on Li Hong Yuanâs acute sense, they can ensure that there wonât be a fifth person hearing.
Although it wasnât Jing Wanâs first time hearing Li Hong Yuan mention this matter, but hearing again, she still felt very much heartbroken. At the time, he was only ten years old. How could Noble Consort Su be that heartless, how could she do such a thing? Even raising a cat or dog, one was able to have feelings, let alone a person, even putting in her heart and blood, exhausting her thoughts.
When facing Noble Consort Su, Jing Wan actually wanted to grab her and shake her with all her might, letting her brain come to its sense, wanting to ask her, when doing it, did she ever once hesitate in the slightest?
The two Luo family elders although were more restrained, their expressions were similarly very ugly. In reality, the two of them also werenât the type to emphasize on blind loyalty and unquestioning filial piety. Thatâs why, they didnât feel that the things Li Hong Yuan did to Noble Consort Su now was wrong in the slightest, or that he shouldnât do.
Then again, if these two were that typeâââââit is whatever the parents say it isâ, âwhatever the parents do, itâs all correctâ, or âwhatever the parents do, one all canât disobeyâ, then never mind Li Hong Yuan not telling them anything, even Jing Wanâs relationship with them all wonât be that good.
After getting angry, Luo Pei Shan slightly narrowed his eyes, penetrating with a bit of piercing danger, âNoble Consort Su targeting Wan Wan for no reason, this is treating this old man as a dead person?â
Thatâs why, for Luo Pei Shan, this old fox, some things that still werenât suited to be pulled out, he wonât touch, but him venting out his anger because of his granddaughter, what will you do? Based on Luo Pei Shanâs sly manner in handling matters, in addition to a Head Cabinet Minister Ruan Rui Zhong assisting from the side, no matter how much Li Hong Ming suffers, he still wonât be able to find an excuse to complain before Le Cheng Emperor.
Noble Consort Su was too sly in some of her methods, and moreover, she was successful in her every endeavor. When using on Jing Wan, she also never once considered whether or not it was appropriate. Speaking of which, the biggest difference between Jing Wan and Rui Wangfei was that Jing Wan wonât let herself be controlled, and also wonât be restricted by reputation. The same thing, Rui Wangfei will just suffer in silence, but Jing Wan absolutely wonât. Rui Wangfei has never resisted before, and moreover, when instructing her daughter-in-laws, Noble Consort Su generally would always do it in private, so others naturally donât know. Then, her occasionally saying a few words that had deeper meaning, an average person really wonât think too much. However, the two elders of the Luo family both werenât simple either. They loved Jing Wan dearly. And Li Hong Yuan further wasnât someone to be trifled with. Jing Wan was the pearl of his eye, the meat of his heart. Loving Jing Wan deep into his bones all wasnât an exaggeration. Thatâs why, having bullied Jing Wan, yet still counting on it being like when training Rui Wangfei, peaceful with no repercussion, even bringing her a beautiful reputation, must be dreaming!n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
