Chapter 27 Jinqiâs Medical Skills Were Questioned
Lu Jinqi had just arrived at the airport when an unknown call came in.
âIs this White Deer? Have you arrived at the airport?â A young manâs voice came from the other end of the line.
Lu Jinqi wore a voice changer and her tone was flat. âYes, Iâm here.â
She was not surprised that the other party knew her number. The two of them had contacted each other through text messages before they arrived.
âThen Iâll send someone to pick you up.â The man was surprised to hear Lu Jinqiâs voice. Clearly, he did not expect White Deer to be a girl.
He was very confused.
âNo need, send me the address.â Lu Jinqi walked out with her long legs, refusing the personâs offer on the phone.
The man did not insist on picking her up and agreed immediately.
Soon, a text message arrived. Seeing the address, Lu Jinqiâs brows raised slightly.
After leaving the airport, she took a taxi to the city center and walked straight into a Shengbai building.
She wore a mask and walked into a shop. When she came out, her long black hair had turned into silver strands, shining under the lights.
Lu Jinqi looked down at the school uniform on her body, slightly stunned. Then, she walked into a menâs clothing store and chose a set of clothes to wear.
When she finished changing, everyone in the store turned to look at her. The female employeesâ faces were red and their eyes were glinting
Her silver hair was a little messy as it covered her forehead slightly. Her eyes were alluring and her thin lips were curled up.
She was wearing a white round-necked hoodie and a pair of pure white harem trousers. She had a black bag on her shoulder and her entire body exuded a languid and handsome presence.
A girl whispered to the friend beside her, âI thought this outfit was ordinary when I first came in, but now I suddenly feel like itâs exquisite.â
The girl was also excited and nodded in agreement. âMe too, now I want to buy this outfit too.â
All of a sudden, all the girls told the shop assistant to get the same outfit Ju Jinqi wore. This was the first time the shop assistant had seen such a situation, so she was a little stunned.
It was the manager who came to his senses, and with a bright face, he called for someone to go get the goods.
However, during this period, a small incident happened, causing everyone to be at a loss.
A young couple had a disagreement, and the girl insisted on buying this set. However, the boy felt that this set was not good-looking and did not match his whole vibe, so he was unwilling to get it for her.
In the end, the girl directly said something, causing him to be speechless. âWhere did this attitude come from? This is the set I want, itâs clean and neat, not like you.â Lu Jinqi acted like a bystander as she calmly paid the bill and left.
âYouâre White Deer?â The man asked in disbelief.
Twenty minutes ago, he had received a call from Lu Jinqi and came out to pick her up. When he saw her, he was stunned.
Even though she was wearing a mask, he could tell from her eyes and brows that she looked like a very young girl. If she said that she was a celebrity, people would have probably believed her.
Lu Jinqiâs voice was low. âIs there a problem with that?â
The man came back to his senses and shook his head. âNo, let me introduce myself. My name is Kuang Jin.â
Hearing this, Lu Jinqi replied with a nod, indicating that she knew.
Seeing how calm she was, the corners of Kuang Jinâs mouth twitched. He felt defeated. This was the first time he had seen someone react like this when they heard his name.
Lu Jinqi was impatient. Under the mask, her thin lips parted slightly. âWhereâs the patient?â Kuang Jin regained his composure and brought her to the door of a room. He stopped.
âJust to let you know, the person inside is the president of the Calligraphy Association. Earlier, he suddenly fainted. The doctor said that there was a blood clot in his brain, but heâs too old to guarantee that the surgery will be successful, soâ¦â
He could not finish his sentence, and his expression was heavy.
Lu Jinqi understood what he wanted to say, but she could not make a conclusion without seeing the patient.
âI need to take a look at it myself.â
âOkay.â Kuang Jin opened the door and the two of them walked in together.
Lu Jinqi went forward to look at the old man with white hair on the bed. She carefully pulled his sleeves up and placed her fingers on his wrist.
After a long while, she turned to look at Kuang Jin. âI only have a 70 percent chance of success rate at this point.â
70 percent? Kuang Jinâs eyes widened when he heard that. After all, the other doctors had told him that there was only a 30 percent chance of survival were they to operate on this old man.
Now that the person in front of him had told him that he had a 70 percent chance, how could he not be excited.
â70 percent? Sure.â
Lu Jinqi raised her eyebrows when she heard that. âYou can make this decision that quick?â
Kuang Jin understood what she meant. Perhaps she had misunderstood him, so he could not help but rub his head. âI forgot to mention that the person on the bed is my grandfather.â
âOh, you donât look alike,â Lu Jinqi said lazily, glancing at the person on the bed.
Kuang Jin was stunned, but he realized what she meant. It would be a miracle if a grandfather and a grandson looked alike.
As though she had seen enough of his expression, Lu Jinqiâs red lips curled up. âI was just joking.â
âThen you really have a wicked sense of humorâ¦â
Kuang Jin rolled his eyes at her and snapped, âWhen do we start?â
âNow,â Lu Jinqi said as she took out something from her bag. When she opened it, it was filled with acupuncture needles. When Kuang Jin saw these things, he frowned.
âYouâre a chinese doctor?â
Lu Jingi looked at him and said softly, âYes, canât I not be one?â
âItâs not just that, are you sure⦠you know what youâre doing? You have to know that western doctors canât do anything about it. Chinese doctors have been declining for so longâ¦â Kuang Jin suddenly regretted agreeing to her. Who would still seek treatment from a chinese doctor?
They had looked for so many western doctors but they were all useless. Could chinese doctors even help at this point?
Hearing the disdain in his words, Lu Jinqiâs eyes turned cold. A cold smile hung on the corner of her lips.
âWhy? Could it be that the ancestors of the Kuang family have started using western medicine instead? Chinese medicine has been passed down for many generations, but to you, it doesnât work?â Hearing that, Kuang Jin understood that she had been angered. Even though what she said made sense, he was still suspicious of chinese medicine!
A hint of mockery flashed across Lu Jinqiâs eyes. She packed her things and prepared to leave.
At that moment, a middle-aged man appeared at the door. When he saw this scene, he looked at Kuang Jin in confusion.
âWhatâs going on?â
Kuang Jin walked over quickly and told him the whole story in a hushed voice.
When he heard this, the man slapped his head in anger. âWhat are you talking about?â
Kuang Jin was stunned. He stared blankly at his father as he walked towards Lu Jinqi.
âWhite Deer, right? Iâm sorry, this little brat doesnât know what he;s saying. We definitely have no intention of looking down on chinese medicine.â
The man was shocked for a second when he saw Lu Jinqi. However, he was someone who had been through a lot. There were many geniuses in this world that were younger than this kid.
Hearing this, Lu Jinqiâs cold eyes remained the same. She said unhurriedly, âSince you guys prefer the western medicine treatment, I shall take my leave.â
Chinese medicine had been passed down for thousands of years, but now, she was looked down upon by a young boy. She did not know whether to feel sad or sigh.
Seeing her like this, the man panicked. They had looked for so many doctors, but it was all for naught. Now, there was finally hope, but it was all ruined by his useless son, Kuang Jin.
With that thought, he glared fiercely at Kuang Jin. He would settle the score with him later.
âWhy donât you get your *ss over here and apologize?â
Kuang Jin held back his anger and slowly moved over. He carefully apologized, âIâm sorry, I shouldnât have said that.â
Lu Jinqiâs expression was impatient. His apology did not mean anything to her.
âIâm sorry, I canât take this job.â
She coldly said those words and quickly left with her equipment bag.
