âBlake will be getting a cast, and thereâs no need for hospitalization. After half an hour of
observation, heâs free to go home.â
After lo
Joel finished speaking, he scanned the corridor to look for Yasmin. When he saw her,
he waved at her.
Yasmin pointed to herself and asked, âAre you calling me?â
âYes.â
Giselle glanced at Yasmin as the latter approached.
Joel continued, âBlake will require bed rest once heâs home. The recovery might take two to three
weeks. Iâll make regular visits for followâup examinations and to change bandages. I trust you to
look after him well.â
âOkay,â Yasmin agreed. Since she was the reason for Blakeâs leg fracture, she accepted the
responsibility to care for him.
However, Giselle, who stood beside her, wasnât thrilled. As Blakeâs girlfriend, she questioned why
Joel entrusted this duty to Yasmin.
With Erik by her side, Giselle entered the ward to check on Blake.
Leaning on the hospital bed, his left leg immobilized in a cast, he showcased his usual striking
appearance, marked by thick hair and a sharp nose. Yet, his lowered gaze conveyed a frail and
chilly demeanor.
As soon as Erik entered, he apologized to Blake. âBlake, Iâm sorry.â
âWhy apologize?â said Blake, looking straight at him.
âIt was my fault,â said Erik, with his head down, âIf I hadnât pushed Yasmin, she wouldnât
down the slope.â
have gone
Blake frowned. âIt was you who pushed her?â
âYes,â said Erik, feeling very guilty.
Giselle quickly explained, âErik didnât do it on purpose. He was just messing around with Yasmin at
the time. He didnât expect her to fall so easily and cause you harm. Erik knows his mistake
already.â
She spoke gently, explaining on Erikâs behalf, but Blake merely glanced at Erik and sternly. stated,
âThe person you should apologize to isnât me.
Erik understood right away what he meant. He was telling him to apologize to Yasmin
instead.
Outside the ward, after everyone had departed, Joel whispered, âYasmin, when you Blake fell, did
he also get injured in that area?â
That area? Like the crotch?
and
As soon as she heard this, she broke out in a cold sweat and nervously asked, âIs something
wrong?â
âItâs a bit swollen on one side,â replied Joel, still whispering. âDid you hit it when
you fell?â
âOh no,â she thought. She was wearing a helmet and snow goggles when she fell, and that impact
must have been quite severe.
Worried, she asked, âIs everything okay?â
âI donât know for sure at the moment, but youâll need to apply some medicine to reduce the swelling
and bruising when you get back,â Joel elaborated. âIâll go get the medicine now. You head over to
Blakeâs ward, and Iâll see you there.â
âOkay,â Yasmin responded.
At first, she was not so concerned, but after hearing about this, she began worrying again. She
prayed that nothing serious would happen. Otherwise, she would be in trouble. Blake would use this
as an excuse to take revenge on her.
She turned to go to the ward. Just as she reached the door, she heard Giselle saying, âBlake, your
leg is injured, and you need to rest for at least half a month. Why donât I move to Oak Garden and
look after you?â
âNo need,â Blake calmly refused her. âYouâre pregnant. You should be resting.â
âThen, Iâll look after you, Blake. It was my fault that you were hurt. Iâll move to Oak Garden,
Erik volunteered.
âNo need,â Blake rejected him too.
Raising his eyes, he noticed Yasmin entering, and with a subdued tone,
Thereâs someone at home looking after me.â
His words were intended for her.
