âBlake?â
Afraid that something had happened to him, Yasmin crawled over and removed his snow goggles.
The face she found under the goggles was tense.
Staring at her, Blake said, âThereâs a chance my leg is broken.â
Having fallen into the pit just now, he heard a snap. The situation appeared to be quite
serious.
âAre you sure?â Yasmin was panicking. She quickly got off him and examined his leg.
âWhich leg?â she asked.
âLeft leg,â Blake replied.
She reached out and pressed his left leg. âIs it here?â
âYeah.â As if in pain, he furrowed his brows and instructed, âCall for help.â
âOkay.â
With no time to waste, she looked up at the edge of the pit. Ivan and the others had already arrived.
Everyone stood above, their faces showing concern.
âAre you both okay?â Ivan asked.
The snow pit was over 3.2 feet deep. If they were injured, it shouldnât be too serious.
Yasmin climbed off Blake and looked up, answering, âIâm fine, but Blake seems to have injured his
leg. He canât move. We need to call an ambulance.â
Half an hour later, Blake was lifted into an ambulance.
Feeling guilty, Yasmin said, âMr. Burke, Blake got injured because of me. I have to go to the hospital
to take care of him. Iâll leave first. Weâll talk next time.â
âOkay, be careful on the road,â said Ivan as he saw her off onto the ambulance.
When Blake, who was lying inside the ambulance, saw it was Yasmin who was going to escort him
to the hospital, he said, âIâm seriously injured here, and you still have the heart to flirt with your lover
in front of me?â
Yasmin frowned and answered, âLover? Flirting? I was just saying goodbye to him.â
âYou broke my leg, and youâre speaking with so much confidence?â Speaking of which, Yasmin
indeed felt guilty for hurting Blake.
Lowering her head, she said, âIsnât that why Iâm coming to the hospital with you to take care of
you?â
That was more like it. Blake closed his eyes, and they headed to the hospital.
Joel put on his white coat as soon as he reached the hospital and followed a group of doctors into
the operating room. The others waited outside.
Giselle asked, âWhat happened just now? How did you guys fall?
Yasmin looked up at Erik, who was standing in the corner. Since there was a hint of sorrow
in his eyes, he was probably already aware that he had caused trouble.
âIt was my fault. I accidentally bumped into her,â said Erik, admitting his mistake
voluntarily. âI just wanted to scare her. I didnât expect her to fall.â
Yasmin did not quite believe him. She thought he had pushed her down the slope intentionally
because he harbored prejudice against her.
Upon hearing that Erik took the blame, Giselleâs expression softened.
âNo more next time. Skiing is very dangerous.â
âI know,â Erik replied, looking remorseful, likely feeling as bad as he looked.
Yasmin ignored them and waited in one corner, feeling strangely uneasy. It was because of her that
Blake broke his leg. There was no way she could feel at ease now.
Erik suddenly said, âGiselle, youâre pregnant. Go back and rest. Iâll wait here.â
âHow can I leave when Blake is still in there?â said Giselle, shaking her head..
With her hand supporting her waist, she insisted on waiting outside the operating room. Erik looked
guilty.
As time passed, Yasminâs heart remained in suspense. After half an hour, Joel walked out of the
operating room.
Noticing the movement, Yasmin looked up and saw Giselle walking over to ask, âJoel, how is
Blake?â
âBlake has a minor fracture in his left leg.â

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief after learning that it was only a minor fracture. The tense
atmosphere gradually dispersed. Yasmin quietly exhaled, finally feeling a bit relieved.
