At the snowfield, Ivan said gently, âYasmin, when youâre skiing, donât focus on the ground. Look
ahead.â
âOkay!â Yasmin nodded and lifted her gaze. She then locked eyes with Blake. He sat there, a staff
member kneeling to attach the snowboard to his feet. His face bore a cold and grim expression.
Their eyes met. He was glaring at her.
Yasmin was startled, and her heart raced. Then, her speed spiraled out of control. She thought she
was about to fall, and her eyes widened in terror. âHelp!â she could not help but
scream.
Beside her, Ivan wore a smirk as he scooped her up. She practically pounced on him,
pressing against his chest. After the initial bump, he took a step back, managing to maintain his grip
on her.
They looked at each other in the snow, and the scene resembled a romantic drama.
âOh my goodness! Thatâs like a scene from a romantic drama.â Joel was sitting next to Blake,
slapping his thigh..
He continued, âNow would be the perfect timing for some music. I feel like falling in love by just
watching it.â
Blake gave him a cold sideâeye. âNo one would mistake you for a mute if you donât speak.â
âI think itâs romantic. A compliment wonât hurt.â Joel sensed his displeasure and proceeded
to add fuel to the fire.
He added, âBut itâs genuinely romantic. Iâm not lying.â
âI also think they would make a great couple,â Giselle commented as she looked in Yasminâs
direction.
Joel said, âRight? Theyâre indeed a lovely couple, just like the characters from a romantic
drama.â
Giselle hummed in agreement as she sat down. 1
Blake remained silent until he noticed Yasmin looking in their direction from a distance. He
immediately averted his gaze and turned his head to Giselle. âDo you want to try it? I can
teach you.â
Giselle was surprised that Blake volunteered to teach her skiing because he usually ignored her all
the time. She looked up and saw Yasmin watching them. Then, she understood that it was because
of Yasminâs gaze.
She subtly clenched her fists and smiled gently, âI canât play. Donât forget that Iâm pregnant. I canât
engage in strenuous exercise.â Even though she wore skiing attire, she did not participate. She was
there for company and to take some selfies. 1
Picking up her phone, she was about to ask Blake and Joel to look at the camera. However, Blake
grabbed his ski pole and slid away. Giselleâs frozen smile remained on the phone.
Joel chuckled, âBlake has always been this way. Taking photos is not his thing. Donât mind him.â
With that, he also glided away.
Giselle remained alone in the resting area. Peering through the floorâtoâceiling windows, she
watched the people outside having a great time in the snow.
Joel slid over to Yasminâs side and greeted her with a smile, âHi, Yasmin. Howâs my best friendâs
darling doing?â
Upon hearing his address, Ivan slightly frowned as he looked coldly at Joelâs charming face.
Joel smiled at him, âHi, Mr. Burke.â
Ivan asked in disdain, âDid you all come together?â
âYeah,â Joel admitted. They all belonged to the upper class and had business connections. Hence,
they knew each other.
Joel asked Ivan, âCan I have a word with my best friendâs darling?â
Ivan glanced at Yasmin.
Yasmin said, âDr. Sawyer, Iâm not your best friendâs darling anymore.â
âOops! Sorry.â Joel approached and took Yasmin away.
âCome on, Yasmin. Let me teach you, an
and we can chat.â With that, he dragged Yasmin away.
Yasmin was on the snowboard as Joel dragged her effortlessly for a distance. He asked, â Yasmin,
whatâs going on? How did you and Blake go your separate ways?â
Yasmin replied candidly, âHe cheated on me, and I did the same thing.â
Joelâs lips twitched. âYasmin, navigating marriage can be challenging. But thereâs no turning
back once you give up.â
