Chapter 7
âRegretting it already? Is your love that cheap? Has it faded into nothingness after just two years?â
Blake mocked. He stared at Yasmin.
He had her pinned to the bed. Her pale face was devoid of emotion. âYes, Iâm regretting it. wonât
love you anymore.â
She wasnât worthy of him, so she was giving up.
Blakeâs expression darkened. He growled, âFine, then. Since you donât love me anymore, thatâs all
the more reason for me not to let you off the h o ok. I want you to stay by my side for the rest of your
life to atone for your sins. Thatâll be the perfect way to torment the day you die.â.
you until
Yasmin was stunned. âAre we really unforgivable just because my father tricked you?â
âYes. Itâs the one thing I hate the most, so you have to stay by my side for the rest of your life. You
donât have a choice in this.â With that, Blake stormed out and slammed the door behind him.
Yasmin sat up, looking desolate. She hadnât expected Blake to insist that she dedicate her life to
him as a form of reparation for Stuartâs trickery.
The following morning, Yasmin slowly stirred awake as the sunlight streamed in through the window.
It was a bright, sunny day, which was at odds with her mood.
Her stomach was hurting a little again. She had to eat something before taking her
medication.
She went downstairs for breakfast. Mary had made her something suitable for her constitution. âEat
as much as you can, Mrs. Ford.â 1

âOkay.â Yasmin started eating. She had a cute appearance. Mary couldnât help pitying her. She
rubbed Yasmin on the head.
Suddenly, laughter rang out. Yasmin turned to see Blake and Giselle walking into the house. She
paused halfway through her meal as her expression darkened. He refused to get a divorce, yet he
still wanted to bring his mistress home. He was such a jerk!
âMary, set another place at the table.â Blake walked into the dining room, looking like a perfect
gentleman in his black suit.

Mary was only a housekeeper, so she didnât dare to defy him. She did as told.
Blake and Giselle sat down. The former acted like Yasmin was nonexistent and scooped some food
onto the latterâs plate. âHave some of this. Itâs good for you and the baby.â
Giselle was pleasantly surprised by this. She glanced at Yasmin and said shyly, âYour wifeâs
around.â
âShe wonât mind.â Blake looked unruffled.
Yasminâs heart constricted. Indeed, she shouldnât be bothered by these things. She was only here to
atone for her sins.
âIâm sorry about this, Mrs. Ford. Blake and I have known each other for years. Heâs always been this
way. Heâs just habitually caring for me since Iâm pregnant,â Giselle said demurely. She was the very
picture of a well-mannered lady.
Yasmin said plainly, âDonât call me Mrs. Ford.â
She hated that address now. She didnât want to have anything to do with Blake.
âWhy?â Giselle gave Blake a confused look. âDo you two have a bad relationship?â
Blake pursed his lips without saying anything. Giselle turned to Yasmin again, asking gently, âIs it
because you two donât see each other often?â
âNo.â Yasminâs expression was icy. âThis is nothing but a political marriage. There arenât any
feelings involved.â
She glared at Blake. He returned it with an ice-cold gaze.
Giselle could tell things were genuinely bad between them. This put her at ease. She said gently,
âCould you pass me the salad bowl, Yasmin? Blake doesnât like taking his vegetables, so I want to
get him some to make him eat healthy.â 1
Yasmin said, âIsnât there a turntable? Just turn it to get whatever you want.
âOh, right.â Giselle looked like sheâd just noticed it. âSorry, Iâve been abroad for so long that Iâm not
used to how things are back here.â
âArenât there turntables abroad?â
Giselle paused. Then, she continued, âNo, itâs just that Iâve always eaten alone. Iâve never had any
need for tables like this. It was quite lonely, really.â
