Annalise was happy to see Yasmin do the sensible thing. After dropping her off at the Oak Garden,
sheâd even given her two bottles of looseâleaf tea. âYasmin, you get sick easily. Take these herbal
teas. Theyâre good for you.â
âThank you, Annalise.â Yasmin accepted the gifts with a smile.
Annalise continued, âI also hope no one else finds out about our agreement.â
âOkay,â Yasmin agreed.
Annalise drove off.
Yasmin stood in the yard with the gift in her hand. The storm cloud above her heart slowly
dissipated.
So long as Blake asked for a divorce, her father would be able to come back.
She inwardly encouraged herself to make this a reality!
When she walked into the villa, Mary asked her, âMrs. Ford, youâre home. Have you had
breakfast?â
âNot yet.â
Yasmin grinned cheerfully. She was in such a good mood that she got her appetite back.
Mary served her a nutritious breakfast.
Just as Yasmin was slowly enjoying her food, she heard a housekeeper call out, âSir, youâre
home!â
âIs Mrs. Ford home yet?â Blake asked.
âShe is. Sheâs having breakfast in the dining hall.â
âAlright,â Blake said. Then, he walked to the dining hall.
a
Earlier that morning, he had gone to his family home to pick Yasmin up. However, the housekeeper
said that she had already left. Thus, he drove back to Oak Garden.
When Yasmin spotted Blake, she observed the clothes he was wearing.
It was the same suit as yesterday. He must have kept Giselle company at the hospital the entire
night last night.
Nonetheless, she wasnât upset. Now, she just hoped that Giselle would recover and marry into the
Ford family. Then, her father would be able to come back.
Thinking of this, Yasmin broke into a smile. âGood morning,â she greeted him.
From this moment on, she was going to get the two of them together.
Blake had been peering closely at her. When he heard what she said, he was caught off- guard for
a second. Morning.â
He sat down and asked her casually, âHow come you didnât have breakfast at the family home?
When I went over, the housekeeper said that youâd already come here.â
Yasmin paused briefly. âYou went to pick me up this morning?â
âYes. I thought you didnât drive there.â Blake picked up his mug and took a sip of his coffee.
Yasmin replied, âI bumped into Annalise this morning. She drove me here.â
Hearing Annaliseâs name, Blake gave her a glance. He seemed to be observing her emotions. âDid
she say anything to you?â
âNo.â
Clearly, she was in a good mood.
âIf my mother said anything, just pretend you never heard it. Donât take it to heart.â
Annalise was sickly, so most of the time, they let her get away with anything.
âDonât worry,
Iâm used to it.â Yasmin ate a raspberry before asking another question. âIs Giselle alright?â
Why was she asking about Giselle?
Blake watched her eat her oatmeal. Her expression seemed normal and even cute. She didnât
look angry at all.
He gave her a long look before answering, âItâs nothing. She tripped yesterday and twisted her
ankle, but itâs not serious. She just feeds to stay in the hospital for observation for two days.â
âOh.â Yasmin nodded. âIs the baby alright?â
She was concerned about the child.
Blake frowned. Seeing the worry on her face, Blake felt a little upset. He said indifferently,â
23
Yes.â
âThatâs great.â Relieved, Yasmin continued eating.
Blake wasnât sure if she meant what she said. From time to time, he would give her a glance.
After she was done eating, Yasmin said, âWell, Iâm going to work now. Previously, you said you
would give me the two Porsches at home as my graduation present. Is that still on the table?â
