Yasminâs heart lurched. âHow did you find out, Anna?â
âShe called me earlier today to tell me.â Annaliseâs joy was clear for all to see.
Yasmin finally knew why she was so happy. So Annalise knew about Giselleâs pregnancy now.
Yasmin nodded, her emotions not fluctuating much. âOkay.â
She couldnât rebut anything. Giselle really was pregnant.
âIs it Blakeâs child?â Annalise asked.
âWhy donât you ask Giselle, Anna?â Yasmin wasnât sure. Giselle said it was Blakeâs baby, but Blake
never confirmed it.
âItâs probably Blakeâs,â Annalise said. âGiselle said so to me earlier today.â
One could tell Annalise really wanted Blake to have a baby based on her sentence alone.
Yasmin looked out the window glumly.
She knew she shouldnât be bothered about this. The entire Ford family had their prejudices against
her ever since Stuart messed with Blake two years ago, especially Annalise, who had to raise Blake
alone after her husband passed away.
Blake became head of the family business after years of effort, yet he ended up marrying a woman
from a bankrupt family who couldnât even get pregnant.
This was something Yasmin was helpless to change.
She had asked Joel why before, and he said it was because her body needed really good care
before sheâd be able to get pregnant. But with Blakeâs frequent outstation work, Yasmin was never
able to get pregnant, even after two years.
âYasmin,â Annalise said suddenly.
Yasmin turned to face her, knowing she wouldnât call her name without reason. âYes, Anna?â
âIâll be honest. You are a sweet young woman, butâ¦â
The moment Annalise said âbutâ, Yasmin knew what Annalise was going to say next wouldnât be
anything light.â
Annalise continued, âYou canât bear children.â
Sure enough, Annaliseâs words had an implied meaning.
âItâs not that I have anything against you, but Iâve just given you so many chances throughout these
two years. Yet your body just wonât bear kids. My health is worse nowadays, and I likely wonât be
able to live for long. All I want is to have a grandchild or two. Do you understand how I feel,
Yasmin?â
Yasmin stayed silent, knowing Annalise had more to say. âYou can just get to the point,
Anna.â
âHereâs my suggestion, Yasmin. Since Blake isnât fond of you and Giselle is now pregnant, why
donât you divorce Blake? That way, Giselle can officially marry him.â
Yasmin was stunned. Annalise was siding with Giselle because of the baby. She wanted to
separate Yasmin and Blake.
But it wasnât that Yasmin didnât want to divorce Blake. Blake desired revenge against her, and
Stuart wouldnât agree to the divorce either.
Yasminâs gaze dulled at the thought of her father.
Annalise then mentioned Stuart. âIt would pain me to see you alone without support, Yasmin. Why
donât I help get your father out of prison in exchange for you helping me fulfill my one wish?â
Yasmin was stunned. âReally? Would you really help get my Dad out, Anna?â
Stuart still had several years left in his sentence. If Annalise could get him out early, Yasmin could
divorce Blake.
Stuart could protect her then. The two of them could live together in peace.
Annalise said, âIf you let Blakeâs child become legitimate in our family, Iâll definitely help you get your
father out of prison. That way, your family can reunite. Iâll also give you some money so your father
can enjoy his life ahead.â
Annalise was giving it her all to have a grandchild now.
