Joel kicked him. âWhat bullshit are you talking about? This is Blakeâs wife, Yasmin Starr.â
âIâm so sorry. I shouldâve known better,â the man quickly apologized to Yasmin.
Yasmin smiled. âItâs alright.â
There were five other people in the room, all of them handsome.
Yasmin turned to Joel and said, âHi there, Dr. Sawyer.â
Joel handled Yasminâs annual health checkup, so they knew one another already.
âYasmin, Blake,â Joel greeted. He shooed away the two people sitting in the middle of the room and
let Yasmin and Blake sit down.
They had a pretty lively conversation afterward and got to know one another better.
When the waiter brought in drinks, Yasmin reached out for a glass as she was feeling thirsty. But
Blake took the glass away. He said to the waiter, âGet me a glass of orange juice.â
âI want a cold drink.â Yasmin wanted to have some alcohol.
âDid you forget how you behaved yesterday after getting drunk?â Blake stared at her coldly.
Yasmin blushed somewhat upon recalling what happened yesterday.
Joel clicked his tongue. âYouâve changed, Blake. You know to care about women now.â
âShe canât drink a lot.â Blake shot Yasmin a look. Yasmin had a really low alcohol tolerance.
Yasmin was left speechless. She quietly ate some peanuts.
All of a sudden, she felt someone look at her.
Yasmin turned and saw Erik Hayes, one of Blakeâs friends.
Erik had seen Yasmine two years ago during the wedding dinner. He was Blakeâs best man at the
time. He had never shown Yasmin so much as a smile ever since.
Yasmin wondered if they had some sort of ancestral feud. Why was Erik so hostile to her?
âWhy did you bring her here?â Erik asked. Sure enough, nothing good could come from him
speaking about Yasmin.
Blake eyed him. âWhat? I canât bring i
âI didnât mean that, Blake.â Erik looked awkward for a moment. He just wanted to ask why Blake
didnât bring Giselle over instead.
Joel saw through Erikâs intentions and hurriedly smoothed things over. âBlake can bring whoever he
wants. Itâs his right, after all. Come on, drink up.â
Blake drank his beer along with everyone else in the room.
They then talked about business matters.
Yasmin was bored. She didnât want the juice the waiter had brought in. She sneakily reached out to
grab a glass of beer.
Blake was in the midst of drinking from his own glass when he stopped Yasminâs hand, tucking it in
his palm.
Yasmin turned to find him looking at her. His gaze was pressuring.
âDid I say you could drink alcohol?â
âI donât need you to tell me what to do.â What right did Blake have to control what she did? She
didnât want to drink the juice regardless.
âI said, no drinking.â Blake had a stern expression on his face.
âI also said Iâd never listen to your instructions again.â Yasmin persisted in getting the glass
of beer.
Blake dragged her into his arms and warned, âKeep on misbehaving and see how I teach you a
lesson later tonight.â
His âlessonâ was no normal lesson.
Yasmin blushed.
Blake then said hoarsely in her ear, âI didnât have my fill of you last night. If you drink now, youâll
have to take
it all later.â
Yasmin was left speechless.
âHey, Blake! You canât treat women like that. Let Yasmin go.â Joel got up to separate Yasmin and
Blake, thinking Blake was reprimanding her.
Blake let go of Yasmin and said nonchalantly, âDisobedient women need disciplining.â
Yasminâs face might as well be bleeding from her pores.
No one else understood what Blakeâs âdiscipliningâ meant save for her. She didnât dare speak nor
look at Blake anymore when she thought about all the things he did to her in bed. She then quietly
sipped her orange juice.
