âYaz, did you know about your precious Mr. B cheating on you?â The phone call was from Yasminâs
best friend, Eunice Salle. âI saw it all over the news first thing in the morning! Heâs gotten together
with a pianist named Giselle OâShea, and it looks like sheâs even pregnant.
âThe paparazzi caught them at the hospital together. Hurry and go check it out!â
Yasminâs heart constricted. She checked the news. There were tweets everywhere on Twitter
talking about the photos of Blake accompanying Giselle to the hospital last night.
Blake was the CEO of Windmere Group and had countless assets under his name. He was the
most eligible bachelor in the city. This was why his private life had always been under intense
scrutiny.
Now that heâd gotten caught accompanying a woman to the hospital, it immediately became a
trending topic. The netizens had even managed to dig out Giselleâs personal information.
She was a renowned pianist in Merania. She and Blake were childhood sweethearts. They had a
strong bond. After growing up, sheâd gone abroad to study while Blake had waited for her for ten
years.
Now that Giselle was back, they could finally be together.
Everyone on the Internet was going crazy over their relationship. They were all lamenting the glory
of their love. In just one morning, Giselleâs Twitter account had gained three million followers.
The one thing Yasmin noticed was that Giselle had been in Merania. It matched up with what
Blakeâs friend had told her before. So, she was Blakeâs true love.
Yasmin smiled mockingly.
âDid you see it, Yaz? I canât believe this nonsense is all over the Internet. I canât take itâI have to go
teach these people a lesson!â Eunice gritted her teeth.
Yasmin stopped her. âDonât do anything. I already know about it.â
âWait, you do?â
âYeah.â
Euniceâs voice shot up an octave. âWhat the hell is wrong with you? Arenât you going to do anything
about him getting involved with another woman? Shouldnât you be teaching that bitch a lesson?â
Yasmin sighed. âDidnât you see what those people are saying? Sheâs Mr. Bâs true love. Heâs waited
for her for a decade.â
âI couldnât care less whether sheâs his true love or a hooker he hired. Sheâs in the wrong for getting
involved with him despite knowing heâs married!â
âForget it.â Yasmin sounded tired. âMy marriage to Mr. B has always been a one-sided thing. Iâm
tired now.â
Besides, her manners and upbringing wouldnât permit her to get physical with Giselle. In fact, if she
were to cause a fuss, the whole city would know what a terrible marriage she had. She and Blake
had indeed been married, so she didnât want things to turn ugly.
After a moment of silence, Eunice said, âWhat are you going to do, then? Are you going to keep this
up or get a divorce?â
âA divorce is all I want now.â Yasmin looked at the needle on the back of her hand. She was sick,
yet he was accompanying Giselle. Her heart was now dead. âSince he doesnât care about me, I
wonât force things anymore.â
âIâll always support you, Yaz. Youâre so pretty. There are plenty of men whoâd love to be with you.
You donât have to be so hung up on a scumbag!â
âThanks for comforting me.â She was grateful to have Eunice by her side when she was at her
worst.
After hanging up, Yasmin rested for a while. When she was finally done with her IV drip, she felt
better. Her stomach didnât hurt anymore, but she was still rather weak.
Mary and the driver took her home. She fell asleep again.
Blake returned that night. As he took his coat off, he asked Mary, âWhere is she?â
âUpstairs. Sheâs sleeping.â Mary added, âMrs. Ford was quite sad to see that you werenât around
when she woke up this morning, Mr. Ford.â
Blake fell silent. After a pause, he went upstairs. He easily pushed the room door open.
Yasmin was curled up on the bay window like a cat. Her long hair fell from the seat to the floor. It
made her seem that much more skinny and petite.
Why was she sleeping there when she was sick?
