âEither way, youâve aroused ime. This time, you have to put the fire out.â Blake couldnât care less
what Yasmin had to say. He plastered himself to her.
Yasmin shuddered. She wanted to push him away, but he caught her hands and held them behind
her. She was facedown against the pillow as he held her from behind. Blakeâs kisses trailed down
her back; his breathing was hot and heavy.
A light sheen of sweat broke out on Yasminâs nose. âYou canât do this. You already have Giselle! Let
me go!â
She wanted to push him away, but she couldnât see him and didnât know where to aim. When she
accidentally pressed against his groin, she stiffened in shock as her face burned crimson. âBlake!â
âSettle down.â Blake smacked her on the butt.
Yasmin stiffened again. âLet go of me!â
âYou have to put out this fire today. Otherwise, you wonât take a step out of this room.â Blakeâs voice
was so deep that it made her heart stutter.
Yasmin lay there, feeling miserable. Heâd just slept with Giselle last night, yet here he was, trying to
have his way with her the very next day. Why did life have to be so hard on her? Why did she have
to marry Blake and become a tool for him to vent his frustrations? As she thought about this, she
started to cry. At that moment, someone pushed the door open. âBlake-â
It was Giselle. She was stunned when she saw what was happening in the room. She clapped a
hand over her mouth and bolted. 1
Yasmin was equally stunned. A bout of strength surged in her as she shoved Blake away. off! What
are you
doing with me when your womanâs here?â
Blake didnât say anything. His eyes gleamed as he watched her. He seemed to be observing her.
She said coldly, âGo after her. I donât want you to blame me if something happens to her baby.â
At the thought of the baby, Blake didnât linger. He got up from her and went after Giselle, leaving
Yasmin alone in the room.
She smiled selfâdeprecatingly. She was about to get out of bed when the bracelet she wore. broke.
Yasmin picked it up and checked it. It was a gift from Blake. Sheâd pestered him to buy it for her for
their anniversary last year.
Sheâd said coquettishly, âMr. B, weâve already been married for a year, but you havenât given me
anything. Why donât you buy me an accessory?â
Yasmin had dragged him into a jewelry store. Later, heâd bought her the bracelet. Now, it was
broken. It seemed to be a prediction of their marriage. They would soon sever ties and part ways.
Yasmin didnât obsess over it. She changed her clothes and headed to the prison to visit
Stuart. He wore an inmateâs uniform and had a smile on his handsome face. Despite being behind
bars, he was still the gentleman heâd always been.
Yasmin looked at him tearily. âHow have you been, Dad?â
âPretty great.â Stuartâs smile widened. He coughed lightly but covered his mouth with hist fist, trying
not to let Yasmin hear him.
She still did, though. Her gaze turned worried. âDad, are you sick?â
âIâve just been coughing a little lately; itâs nothing. Donât worry, okay? Did you come to see me
because you wanted to tell me something, Yaz?â
âI want to divorce Blake, Dad.â Yasmin had come to inform Stuart of this.
Stuart fell silent. Then, he asked, âHas he mistreated you?â
âNo, itâs just⦠The woman he loves is back,â Yasmin said frankly. âItâs been two years, Dad. He still
hasnât fallen for me. I donât think itâs likely to happen in the future.â
Sheâd already given up on the prospect.
Stuart asked, âHas he abused you, Yaz?â
âNo.â Yasmin shook her head. âHe hasnât laid a finger on me, nor has he been verbally
abusive.â
Stuart nodded. After a short silence, he asked, âCould you not go ahead with the divorce?â
âWhy?â Yasmin couldnât understand this. She didnât want to stay in a loveless marriage any longer.
