As Blake and Yasmin chatted, a model walked past them on the catwalk. Suddenly, the bag she
held flew in Yasminâs direction.
âWatch out!â Ivan cried as he pulled Yasmin out of the way. The bag missed her.
Yasmin was taken aback as she stared at the model. The latter put on an apologetic look and
walked past them. Despite that, Yasmin still recognized her. She was Roxy Ford, Blakeâs cousin
and the apple of her fatherâs eye.
Before this, Yasmin had heard about Roxy running off to become a model for the sake of the man
she liked. Was that man Ivan?
It was much too coincidental. Yasminâs lips twitched as she asked Ivan, âDoes Roxy like you?
Ivan was surprised. âHow do you know her name?â
Yasmin was lost for words. Sheâd actually guessed correctly! It was no wonder Roxy had flung her
bag at her. She was jealous! Roxy had always been obnoxious because of her upbringing. She
didnât have the best temper.
âIâve seen her a few times,â Yasmin said. At the same time, she couldnât help glancing at Blake. He
wasnât looking at her, which made her sigh in relief. At least she could finally focus on the fashion
show.
One hour later, the fashion show ended. Yasmin walked out of the hall and said to Ivan, Thanks for
having me over, Mr. Burke. Iâll take my leave now.â
âThe pleasure was mine. I hope to hear good news from you soon, Ms. Starr.â
This took Yasmin aback. Why did it seem like Ivan seemed raring to go? She would even go so far
as to say that he seemed afraid of her turning him down. âIâll discuss this with my business partner
as soon as I get back.â
âAlright.â Ivan nodded and left with his secretary in tow.
Before leaving the building, Yasmin dropped by the restroom to use the toilet. She was worried
there wouldnât be any public toilets on her way back. She washed her hands when she was done.
When she walked out of the restroom, she ran into Blake.
He stood under a light, which accentuated the broadness of his shoulders. His gaze was deep and
unfathomable, adding to his mystery and charm. He asked, âWhy is Ivan Burke looking
to work with you?â
Yasmin said coolly, âNAS Group is planning to launch a line that focuses on affordable luxury, and
they want some new blood. Theyâve issued invitations to designers all over the country, and Iâm one
of them. Mr. Burke liked my designs.â
Blake sneered. âDo you think an organization of this size would hand a new project to a designer
whoâs still wet behind the ears? And that the president would even let you watch an internal fashion
show?â
Yasmin felt like he was just looking down on her. She retorted, âWhy do you always look down on
me?â
âI just donât think it makes sense.â Blake gave her a cool look.
âMaybe thereâs just something about my designs that Mr. Burke likes.â
âIt sounds more like a trap if you ask me.â Blakeâs tone was mocking. âYouâre fresh out of college
with zero experience. No matter how you think about it, thereâs no way something like this could
happen to you.â
âWhat do you think itâs about, then?â Yasmin asked. In truth, she also found that the collaboration
had happened too easily. NAS Group was a huge company, yet Ivan hadnât given her any
conditions or restrictions. She wanted to have Blakeâs opinion.
âItâs a casting couch,â Blake said plainly. âHunters will only want to catch their prey.â
Cup attractive bait if they
He looked at Yasmin. There was no denying that she was gorgeous. That was why Stuart had
forced Blake to marry Yasmin in the first place. Heâd been afraid of his precious daughter ending up
as a plaything for the rich.
Even if she were unwilling, there would always be a rich lecher out there who could force her into
submission.
Blake continued, âIâm refusing to get a divorce for your good, Yasmin. With the way you are, youâll
end up as an old lecherâs plaything once weâre divorced.â
