Chapter 18
Yasmin asked, âDo you and Mr. Burke know each other?â
âOf course. We used to be classmates back in Merania.â Giselle smiled at Ivan. âLong time no see,
Ivan. How have you been doing?â
âPretty well.â Ivanâs smile was faint. It was hard to discern his thoughts from his eyes, which were
hidden behind his glasses. âYou guys continue chatting. I need to answer a call.
He walked to one side and answered his phone.
Giselle said with a smile, âYour careerâs advancing pretty well. You can work with NAS Group now!â
Yasmin smiled politely. âItâs all thanks to Mr. Burke.â
She didnât actually want to spend any time alone with Giselle. The latter asked so many questions
that it got on Yasminâs nerves.
âThanks to him? I think he likes you, you know. Iâll let you in on a secret-Ivanâs single. If you like him,
youâd better get him while heâs still on the market. You have an advantage, after all. Plenty of
women are interested in him.â
This baffled Yasmin. Why was Giselle suddenly playing matchmaker? She smiled awkwardly. âMr.
Burke and I are just talking business.â
âThat doesnât mean he canât become your husband! When you come across someone as
outstanding as him, you have to win him over as soon as possible and make sure he stays with
you.â There was a smile in Giselleâs eyes.
Then, she asked, âOh, right. When are you and Blake getting divorced? Have the papers been.
prepared? Is everything ready?â
Yasmin was frustrated by this. âHe refuses to get divorced.â
Giselleâs smile stiffened. âWhy? I thought you two were in a loveless marriage. If there arenât any
feelings involved, why remain in it?â
âI donât know.â She was genuinely confused. Blake absolutely detested her, so why wasnât he willing
to go through with the divorce? Did he want to restrict her freedom for the rest of her life just to get
revenge on her?
âWell, when will the divorce be finalized?â Giselle looked at her, seemingly upset.

Yasmin said, âWhy donât you talk to him about it? Youâre pregnant with his child, after all. Iâm sure
heâll agree once you bring it up.â
Giselle sighed. âI donât want to pressure him.â
Yasmin was flabbergasted. If she didnât have the nerve to mention anything despite being pregnant
with Blakeâs child, then what use would it be if Yasmin, whom Blake hated, talked to him about it?
Giselle held Yasminâs hand and said earnestly, âYasmin, try your best to get divorced, okay? I can
wait, but my baby canât.â
Yasmin glanced at her belly co olly. âIâll try.â
â, Giselle called out, âBlake!â
Yasmin jolted and turned around. Blake stood behind her with Malcolm by his side. He was at NAS
Group as an investor. Who knew how long heâd been listening to their conversation?
âWhy didnât you tell me that youâre coming here?â Giselle walked to him, speaking gently..
Blake glanced at her before turning to look at Yasmin. She stood on the catwalk in a light- colored
dress. The design was simple, but it accentuated her fair skin and made her look alluring.
There was even a vague hint of redness on her neck. It was a bite mark heâd left on her neck the
night before. It was already fading.
Blakeâs gaze landed on the mark for a few seconds. He didnât say anything, merely standing there
like a regal king.
Giselle followed his gaze and saw the mark as well, but she pretended not to see anything. She
clenched her fists slightly and smiled. âBlake, Yasmin and I were just talking about you. She said
youâre the one refusing to get the divorce and that sheâs waiting for you to sign the papers.â
