Chapter 14
Yasmin didnât expect Blake to be so shameless. She forced herself to continue, âLook, we are
married for two years. Now that weâre about to divorce, you wonât even give me a house?â
Sheâd served him for two years, hadnât she? Wasnât she getting anything out of this marriage?
âDid I agree to a divorce?â Blake repeated.
âI already told you that Iâm definitely going through with it,â Yasmin said. She was being- serious.
How could she stand her husband already having a bas ard?
âStill throwing a tantrum, I see.â Blake looked at her coldly. Then, he sneered. âFine, then. If youâre
so insistent on getting a divorce, thereâs no point in me keeping the Newphoria Bay villa.â
Yasmin paled. âWhat do you mean by that? Are you going to sell my villa?â
âIs it yours or mine? Who paid 120 million dollars for it? Since you want a divorce, I might as well
just sell the villa. I donât want it to bother me whenever I think of it.â
Yasmin suddenly felt exhausted. At her silence, Blake thought sheâd backed down. His
home.â expression softened a little. âClose the door. Letâs go
She didnât budge. After a long moment, she laughed softly and got out of the car.
âYasmin.â
âSell it.â She didnât turn to look at him. Since she couldnât keep the villa, it would be better to just
forget about it. She didnât want to part with Stuartâs villa. However, she also wouldnât let Blake
threaten her.
Blakeâs expression became icy. âDonât regret this, Yasmin.â
Yasmin stopped. She turned to look at him. Her voice sounded bleak in the night breeze as she
uttered, âNever.â
With that, she turned and left without another look back.
Blakeâs pupils constricted. He felt like something was spiraling out of his control.
It was a night in late autumn. The weather was getting colder. Yasmin walked along the road alone,
her solitary figure casting a lengthening shadow under the moonlit night.

She called Eunice, but the latter was still out catching a movie with her boyfriend. They had a good
relationship and would marry soon.
Yasmin didnât want to keep disturbing her, so she told her everything was fine. She also told her to
have fun with her boyfriend.
Yasmin continued wandering alone. She had plenty to say but nobody to talk to. Suddenly, she
missed Stuart. But she didnât want to visit him while down in the dumps. She would only see him
when she was in a better mood.
As she walked along, she suddenly came across an ad about someone willing to pay for a
surrogate. She figured that she couldnât be the only one sad. Why should she let Blake live happily
ever after?
She pulled her phone out and called the number beneath the ad. âHello, Iâd like to advertise for a
surrogate as well.â
âSure. Whatâs your number?â the other party asked.
Yasminâs eyes
flashed as she gave them Blakeâs number. She gritted out, âPublish the ad for three days, and
remember to indicate the phone number Iâve just given you.â
Meanwhile, Blake had just arrived home. Malcolm parked the car and woke him up. Ford, weâre at
Oak Garden.â
âMr.
Blake opened his tired eyes. The large villa was dark and empty. The household staff didnât stay in
the villa. Instead, they lived in the staffâs quarters beside it.
Blake made to get out of the car. Just then, Malcolm said, âSir, the necklace you won in the auction
at Merania last month, Star Forevermore, has been delivered.â
âSend it over tomorrow.â With that, he melted into the darkness.
Blake pushed the villaâs door open. It was dark inside. In the past, Yasmin would always leave
a light on for him. She would run downstairs and jump into his arms with a bright smile. â Youâre
back, Mr. B.â
Tonight, the staircase was dark. The villa was silent.
Yasmin was noisy and irritating at times, but the house felt deserted without her around. Suddenly,
Blake found that he wasnât used to it.
