at her.
Giselle asked, âIs this the room for you and Blake?â
Yasmin frowned before regaining her composure and looking at Giselleâs belly. âIs Blake really the
father of your child, Ms. OâShea?â
A trace of diffidence flashed across Giselleâs face before she nodded. âYes, he is.â
Yasminâs eyes
dimmed. Now that the dust had settled, there was no point in her troubling herself over the matter. âI
hope you two will have a happy life together. You make a great pair.â
âYou and Blake-â
âThereâs nothing between us. Weâre probably getting divorced soon,â Yasmin interjected. Even if
Blake refused to go through with it, she would insist. It wasnât up to Blake to decide.
Giselleâs eyes lit up. âReally?â
âYeah. You donât have to mind me. Iâm just an unimportant character in this debacle.â After all, Blake
had already told her he would never fall in love with her. Her heart was a grave now.
Yasmin entered the bedroom and shut the door. She took her medication and then
downloaded a divorce agreement off the Internet. She wanted to print it out.
After getting her identification and the necessary documents, she headed downstairs. Giselle was
already gone, but Blake was still around. He stood before the window as he answered a call. His tall
stature gave him a rather domineering, regal air.
Yasmin pretended not to see him as she headed to the entrance.
âStop right there!â Blake growled.
Yasmin turned to look at him in confusion. âWhat do you want?â
âArenât you supposed to be having acute gastritis? Why are you still going out?â
âIâm going to work.â
âYouâre not allowed to go anywhere.â
âDonât boss me around,â Yasmin snapped. âFrom today onward, Iâm not going to obey you anymore.
Iâm moving out. I wonât live here anymore.â

In truth, Yasmin had always been a bit of a rebel. Sheâd only acted obediently because of her love
for Blake.
Now, however, she wanted to be herself.
Blake sneered. âYouâll have to find a place to stay before you do that. Iâd like to see if anyone would
dare rent you anything without my permission.â
Yasmin faltered. âAre you going to restrict my
freedom?â
âYouâre not in the right condition to be going anywhere now. Stay at home.â Blakeâs expression
softened. âWait until next week, at least. Shut that stu pid studio of yours down and report to
Windmere Groupâs secretariat. Youâll be my personal secretary.â
It was Yasminâs turn to sneer. âYou know very well Iâm a design student, yet you want me to be a
secretary?â
He knew sheâd always dreamed of being a designer. Yes, it was her fault for setting up the studio
without discussing it with him beforehand. But it was only because she could never
reach him.
Eunice had told her that they only had to fork out two million dollars each for the studio. Sheâd
figured that the money didnât matter to Blake-she could easily spend more than a million dollars just
buying jewelry. That was why sheâd gone ahead with it.
However, Blake had been very upset upon learning about it. He hadnât said anything about it,
though. Yasmin thought the chapter had been closed, yet here he was now, telling her to
shut it down.
Blake said grimly, âYouâre not suited to be a designer. You should give up while youâre ahead.

Yasminâs pupils constricted. She let out a derisive laugh. âDo you think your saying that will make it
true? Have you ever seen any of my designs? Have you paid attention to my studies and daily life?â
âI donât need to,â he said brusquely. His words got nastier and nastier. âYouâre not cut out for it. If
you want to get a job, come and work as my secretary. Donât even think about doing anything else.â
Yasmin laughed again. Her heart felt like it was freezing over. âSo, in your eyes, I donât even
deserve to have a dream? Is being a secretary all Iâm worthy of?â

Sheâd spent years sla ving away as a design major. Sheâd drafted designs day and night. Everyone
had said she was talented. Blake was the only one who disagreed. Now, he was even trying to
erase her four years of hard work with a few words.
Yasmin had nothing more to say to him, nor did she want to. She turned to leave the villa.
âWhere are you going?â Blake asked from where he stood behind her. His gaze darkened.
Yasmin ignored him. Blakeâs assistant, Malcolm Shaw, ran after her. He said, âWhere are you
headed, Mrs. Ford? Iâll take you there.â
âSave it!â Yasmin knew Blake mustâve ordered him to do this. She stopped in the courtyard and
shouted, âI donât need his false kindness!â
She made to get in a Porsche, but Malcolm stopped her. âMrs. Ford, Mr. Ford said youâre not
allowed to drive.â
âWeâre in a f ucking neighborhood of villas, and weâre surrounded by winding mountain roads. How
the hell am I going to get out of here if I canât drive?â
âIâll take you to where you wanna goChapter 10
.â Malcolm was insistent.
Yasmin was p issed, so she nodded just to spite Blake. âFine, then. You can drop me off.â
After getting into the car, she called Eunice. âWhere are you? Iâm out of the house. Iâll go look for
you.â
âIâm at the studio. Come on over,â Eunice said.
âOkay.â Before that, Yasmin had Malcolm pull over at a nearby shop with a printer. She got down,
printed two copies of the divorce agreement, indicated the reason, and slapped one on Malcolmâs
chest. âTake this to Blake.â
âI have to stay with you, Mrs. Ford.â
âJust stop. Iâm already at the studio. What could go wrong? Go back to work.â Yasmin chased
Malcolm away.
Malcolm watched her enter the studio before getting into the car and returning to Windmere Group.
He delivered the divorce agreement to the presidentâs office.
Blake was seated at his desk and attending to some documents. When he saw Malcolm, he asked,
âWhereâd she go?â
