Rule 21: Never fall in love with your opponent
"Mr. Clarington! What do you have to say about the steroid allegations?"
"I look foreward to my day in court. Until then, I have no comment"
"What about the report that you looked way too old to be in high school?" Hunter got enraged and started fighting with the reporter, then the tape switched the news anchor.
"A blood test administered by the Show Choir Governing Board tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, stripping Dalton Academy of their Sectionals title-" I had to pause the TV Â just so I could laugh at Hunter's roid-enraged face.
"Ba, ha, ha! Oh man! He had that so coming his way. Ha, ha, ha! Karma's a bitch Clarington, learn that in life!"

Now you're all probably thinking: 'The steroid scandal is done, McKinley is going to Regionals, there's nothing more to do. Right?' wrong. I still had a visit to pay to Horrid Hairgel and give him a piece of my mind!
I strutted down the halls of Dalton, my converse were lightly slipping against the tile with every step I took. The boys looked my way and beyond, but I didn't even acknowledge them. I only wanted to see him right now. And there he was, with two of his Dalton buddies at the end of the hallway.
I walked over to them and sent the friends away with a wave of my hand. They obviously knew I meant business. Then I turned around and faced Sebastian, with my arms crossed over my chest and the meanest of mean looks in my eyes; my rage was so full-on, I couldn't even stand to look at him right now.
But here I was.
"Reese Lavek, to what do I owe this honor of your return?" he asked in his classic bitchy tone.
"I'm going to loose my temper now." I said.
"... When?" he asked.
"Right now."
"What're you-" I cut him off with a hard slap to his face.
"Are you out of you gourd! You have no idea what could've happen to you! And if we're being honest, I'm not sure of what to do first: scream and humiliate you in front of your peers, or drag you into an alley and beat you with a phonebook." I replied.
"Right, first of all: ow! Second of all, as extremely pleasant as that sounds, I don't know what you're talking about." he said.
"You damn well know what I'm talking about, you little bitchlet! And even after I told you about Marley, you still had the guts to take that title from her! Were you even compassionate for her?" I asked.
"Of course I was. Listen, it wasn't up to me; either do or don't in this Glee club." he said.
"Wrong! You see it was up to you. You could've told Hunter after Marley collapsed to forfeit the title to McKinley!" I snapped.
"You would love that wouldn't you?" he asked.
"It would make me think you're a decent guy, yeah." I replied.
"Hey -- hey! You said, if I did something bad, you'd come back to visit. Remember? You said that!" he told me. Was that his excuse?
"Okay, the trophy crap is one thing, but this... is not at all what I had in mind!" I shouted at him, and drawing in a few stares from the neighbors (aka students).
"You know what, I don't have to listen to this. I have to go." he said and turned away. Oh, but I wasn't done with him yet.
"You know Sebastian, there was a time when I thought you were a decent person, and it made me think everybody had something redeemable in them. But to know you cheated with steroids and still didn't fess after Marley's incident puts you lower than low!" I said. Sebastian whipped around and grabbed me by the arm, then dragged me into an empty room. He shut and locked the door.
"Oh, he's going to rape me now." I said.
"Are you crazy? I'm already in enough trouble as it with the steroid scandal, you don't need to go making a scene in front of the entire student body!" he snapped.
"I figured it's the only way to get your attention; you love drama after all." I replied.
"You know, I really have the urge to slap you right now, but I'm holding my own because I want to keep whatever shrivel of dignity I have left in me." he hissed.
"You lost your dignity the moment you threw that slushie in Blaine's face." I hissed back.
"Oh, are you kidding me!? I'm never going to be rid of that! This girl is going to keep bringing it up for the rest of my life! It's going to go on and on and on and on and on! I said I was sorry!" he shouted.
"So was Lee Harvey Oswald, but he still killed President Kennedy!" I shouted back.
"She's comparing me to assasins now." he said with a scoff.
"This isn't a joke, Sebastian! This is serious! You know, people get fined and can be arrested for taking drugs! Not just performance-enhancing either!" I snapped.
"Reese, listen to me-"
"No! You're going to listen to me! I've put up with your bullcrap for too long! I forgave you for a lot of it too! But I don't think I can ever forgive you for this!"
"I didn't take the steroids!"
"Especially to think that I actually start to -- wait what?" I asked.
"I didn't take the roids." he said again.
"Oh, sure. I should just believe you, right?" I asked.
"I will take any test you want me to, and my results will come back negative, I promise." he replied. He wants a test? I'll give him a test. There's a very good test I know to see if someone's on steroids.
I punched him... hard.
Sebastian yelped and tumbled to the ground while clutching his nose. I just chuckled.
"Alright, I believe you." I smirked. He finally recovered and stood up.
"Really? And the only way to determine that was by almost breaking my nose?" he asked.
"Oh, come on, Smythe. I didn't hit you that hard." I replied.
"What the hell did that prove?" he asked.
"If you were on roids, you would've reacted to my slug in a much more... the Incredible Hulk way, let's put it. Instead, you fell to the ground and whimpered like a weak little boy." I replied with a smug smile.
"Very funny. You could've broken my nose, you know." he said.
"But I didn't it. It's a test, not torture. Plus... I always wanted to punch you." I replied.
"Alright then, fine. Now that I'm in the clear, is there anything else you want to discuss?" he asked.
"Sure, now tell me why you didn't take the steroids." I said.
"I didn't take them because... dammit, I can't tell you." he turned and ran a hand through his hair.
"Uh -- no, you can. Because until you do, nothing between us is ever going to be the same ever again, and not in a good way either!" I shouted at him.
"You'll think I'm stupid."
"Sorry, but that ship sailed long ago." he turned and glared at me, then sighed.
"I couldn't take them because I thought of you, and how disappointed you'd be when you found out. And I knew eventually you would find out. So, I told Hunter that I would go to a doctor to get the roids because I supposedly wasn't able to make it to that Glee practice. I couldn't do it." he explained. That was a pretty good explanation but...
"Why me? Why did you do this for me?" I asked.
"Because after our... time in the storage locker, I keep thinking about you and how much a smile looks so much better on your face than a scowl. You're different from any boy or girl I've ever met. You get me." he replied.
"You know, because of everything that's happened, I'm having a real tough time believing you." I said.
"I know you are, I understand why. But if you could give me just one chance to make it all right, I promise I'll never be a dick to you or anybody again. I promise to play fair and square." he replied.
"How do I know you're not telling some blatant lie?" I asked him. Sebastian sighed and took a breath, then did something I didn't see coming.
He started singing.
"There's a place that I know
It's not pretty there and few have ever gone
If I show it to you now
Will it make you run away?" Â he then leaned in close to me and whispered: 'Sing with me'.
So I did.
"Or will you stay
Even if it hurts
Even if I try to push you out
Will you return?
And remind me who I really am
Please remind me who I really am
Everybody's got a dark side
Do you love me?
Can you love mine?
Nobody's a picture perfect
But we're worth it
You know that we're worth it
Will you love me?
Even with my dark side?"
"Like a diamond
From black dust
It's hard to know
What can become
If you give up
So don't give up on me
Please remind me who I really am
[Both:]
Everybody's got a dark side
Do you love me?
Can you love mine?
Nobody's a picture perfect
But we're worth it
You know that we're worth it
Will you love me?
Even with my dark side?" we danced around the room, until I spun so much I had to hold myself against the wall, but Sebastian came and stood right next to me.
"[Sebastian:]
Don't run away
Don't run away
Just tell me that you will stay
Promise me you will stay"
[Reese:]
Don't run away
Don't run away
Just promise me you will stay
Promise me you will stay"Â he then turned over so he had me pressed against the wall, with both his hands on either side of my head. But he was smiling, and so was I.
"Will you love me? ohh!" I made a flirty move and pushed him away, then went to the middle of room.
"[Both:]
Everybody's got a dark side
Do you love me?
Can you love mine?
Nobody's a picture perfect
But we're worth it
You know that we're worth it
[Sebastian:]
Will you love me?
Even with my dark side?
[Reese:]
Don't run away
Don't run away
[Sebastian:]
Don't run away
Promise you'll stay"
He was sorry, he really was. And you know, even though it took me by surprise, he leaned down and kissed me. And this time, I didn't lag to kiss back.
