Chapter 8 of 23

Besties pt.1

With the week quickly going by, I have been able to recover nicely from my concussion. Samantha has given me some excellent care. And what I mean by that is she's given me enough space to allow me to recover. Which I should thank her for honestly. I don't think I would have recovered as quickly if Samantha was breathing down my neck all the time.

I think she's come to realize that I'm someone who likes her space and privacy. Or I did something to piss her off and I wouldn't really know what that would be. I thought the little bath time therapy session we had a few days ago ended on good terms, but I don't know what she's truly thinking.

Why should I care though? If she wants to be pissy so be it. It shouldn't bother me this much when it comes to Samantha. We hardly know each other.

"I'm going to fix you."

The words have replayed in my head for the last couple of days. I doubt she'll be able to do it. My heart is rooting for her, but my brain? Not so much. I'm going to leave this place and the thought of leaving Samantha after putting in all that hard work, all the so called fixing and junk like that, would be such a waste.

My opinion about giants isn't going to magically change because of some nice girl. And definitely not a cute one either.

I look at my nails. They need to be trimmed again. I look at the burn on my hand. It's going to leave a mark, but it's healed up well. Another scar, but I gave it to myself... from cooking ramen. Kinda lame if you ask me.

"So... this friend of yours..." I speak up. When I don't get an answer, I turn around on my butt to face the giantess.

Samantha recieved her school uniform for the year and is trying on everything to make sure it all fits. Right now she's struggling with the button-up due to her bust. I'm sitting on her desk, watching and somewhat entertained by her struggle.

"This stupid button." Samantha grumbles to herself as she fidgits with her uniform.

Seeing how the other teen handles the problem, it makes you feel bad for the girl.

It's also kinda funny though.

"Samantha?"

Samantha squeezes in the button barely through it's loop, forcing the shirt to button up. Once she's got it, she doesn't breathe a sigh of relief. The uniform looks restricking and uncomfortable. Honestly I don't know how she got it on the first place.

The second to the top button snaps suddenly. The force comedically flinging it across the room. It bounces around for a single second and before I know it, I'm doing duck and cover to dodge the speeding bullet.

The button smacks into the wall then rolls around the desk before falling flat, smoke rising from the piece of plastic.

Okay, not as funny now.

I dust myself off and turn myself attention back to Samantha.

Samantha lets out a depressed sigh, shoulders sloushed in defeat. "I told them I needed a bigger size..." She mumbles. "They never listen to me."

I look back at the button. "Has that happened before?" I ask, jamming my thumb back at the button.

Samantha nods, a looming cloud hanging over her head.

"Mmm."

She goes to sulk in the corner of her room.

I look at the button for a moment, before taking a seat on it to think. "Couldn't you, like, get a shirt custom made for you or something like that?"

"I could, but then it's a long process and I get uncomfortable whenever someone measures me." The giantess crosses her arms over her chest, bothered from the thought of being measured.

This is an actual delema for Samantha. Wow. Never would have thought that having a large bust would be so restricking. I wouldn't know really. It's never crossed my mind about my chest getting in the way of things.

Samantha gets up from her gloomy corner. "I guess I could stop by the tailor while shopping with Ashley."

Ashley. She's only been brought up in covernsation every now and then. Other then her name, I don't know anything about her. All I hope is that she isn't crazy.

I watch as Samantha unbuttons her shirt. She releases a sigh of relief once getting the shirt off.

I still can't wrap my head around how flawless her skin is. It could be from the unbarable teasing and bulling she got from her younger years. Never the less! I would still think she's pretty with or withour her flaws.

Samantha takes off her skirt and it doesn't seem to bother me until I realize I'm staring at her in her underwear.

My face flushes partly from embarrassment and partly because she basically naked. If I have anymore blood rush to my face then my nose would start to bleed.

I turn right around and hide my face in my hands.

"Why am I'm embarrassed anyway? I've seen plently of people change out of clothes. Hell, I seen worse then that." I begin to ramble. "I mean, it shouldn't that big of a deal. It's just Samantha in her underwear."

"Caesar?"

"I didn't see anything!" I jump up defending myself.

Samantha looks at me with raised brows, surprised by my outburst. She's in overalls, a red shirt, and red shoes to match.

"Oooo-kay." She says skeptically with a playful undertone to the words.

Great, I just threw myself under the bus.

"That's a lie," I admit leakly.

"I figured." Samantha says as she holds out her hand. "Now hop on or we'll be late."

I climb onto the hand. The fingers curl in halfway, giving me guard rails so that I don't fall off.

Samantha walks down the stairs and right into the four car garage. The garage itself only holds one car which is Samantha's.

The cars starts up automatically before Samantha opens the door. She opens the door, sets me down on the dashboard, then climbs in herself.

A click of the buckle and a few other button presses, Samantha is all set to drive. She scoops me back up and settles me in the pocket of her overalls.

"Fair warning, you're going to want to hold on." Samantha says as she pulls out of the driveway. "The traffic down town can be rough and I don't want you to go flying across the car."

You'd think the girl would put seat belts in her car for humans since she's so protective of them. Maybe it just wasn't in the budget for her, but I'd call bull on that easily.

The drive to the downtown shopping area is terrifying if I'm be honest. I have this death grip on Samantha's overalls while she weaves in between cars and switching lanes like crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if she caused several accident along the way.

Only when the car stops is when I realize I can stop choking the clothing I've been holding onto for so long.

"Piece of cake." Samantha says as she unbuckles herself.

I, myself, am hanging out a small ways out of the pocket with my soul slowly seeping out of my body. "Yeah... piece of cake..."

The mall itself is bustling with people. The sight of so many giants in one area makes my stomach churn in disgust. That, or I haven't recovered from the crazy car ride.

I'm plucked from the safety from the overalls pocket and moved over the to the shirt pocket that sits ontop of the teens left breast.

"This'll be safer for you," Samantha says, giving the pocket and myself a gentle pat. "The place is pretty crowded today."

Although I'm happy that Samantha is thinking about my well being, the way her chest bounces makes me sicker. Going from swerve to bounce is not helping my extreme motion sickness.

Luckily, Samantha's walking destination is not far from where she parked since she planned to meet up with Ashley at the ice cream shop to get milk shakes. So once she gets there, I'll hopefully be able to take a breather and propperly get my barrings. Or that's what I wanted to happen.

Samantha opens the door to ice cream parlor and cold air swirls around us. The cool air feels nice after coming from the hot outside. The niceness is short lived though.

"SAMANTHA!!!" A cheery voice exclaims in pure joy!

I spot a girl with the reddest air and emerald green eyes. She's got the widest smile on her face as she begins to barrel over to Samantha and I.

Either of us have time to react and the girl runs us both over, tackling Samantha out of the ice cream parlor basically and I get crushed in the process. Honestly, I think I would be dead if it weren't for the fact that I'm durable. And the fact that the girls are... cuishy... if you know what I mean.

"Ash...ley..." Samantha sputters out while also being crushed to death.

"Oops, over did it!" The redhead giggles. "Hopefully I didn't kill your little friend."

Oh, you didn't but you're going wish you did. I think to myself as I wiggle my way out from between the two girls.

I'm able to pop my head and an arm out from between the two girls. "Are you insane?!"

Ashley looks at me in surprise then back at Samantha who has her face hidden behind her hands. The surprise goes right back to that stupid grin.

"You told me she was feisty, but I wasn't excepting that." Ashley says as she gets up and dusts herself off.

"Tell me about it." Samantha mutters.

I glare at the burnette.

"Sorry," She says.

I roll my eyes begrudgingly and slide back into the pocket. Feisty? I consider myself more grumpy then anything.

First impressions are going well... is what I would say if that were true. Considering that Samantha has been tackled to the ground and I've nearly been crushed to death by the two teens, yeah things are going so well.

The three of us re-enter the ice cream parlor, now getting odd or worrisome looks from it's current patrons. Huh, I wonder why. It couldn't possibly be because Samantha and I got jumped at the door.

Yes, I'm going to angry about this for the rest of the chapter. I almost died because someone else wants to act like an idiot. I'm sure you guys would be pissed too if that happened.

The two girls order their favorite shakes and take a seat at a tall table next to the window. They about some old school drama, what boys are. Samantha asked if Ashley asked out Bruce or not.

"No, I haven't..." Ashley sighs, sturring her shake a little. "He doesn't like me that way, I can feel it."

Samantha rolls her eyes, knowing she's heard this a thousand times already. "Ashley, you'll never know if you don't even try."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Ashley sighs, staring at her shake before taking a sip of it.

The girls chat for a little while longer while I wait pateintly for them to be done. Every now and then I can feel Ashley sneaking a glance at me. Although there is no malice intent from the glances, it still creeps me out. Is it because she's jealous or is it because of something else?

Whatever the reason, I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.

The girls wander around the mall for little bit, going into shoe stores, clothing shops, and window shopping for bags. It's all the typical girl things except the one stop to a toy store and the girls looked at plushies. They ended up getting matching armadillo plushies. Why armadillos, I'm not sure. They are cute though.

The armadillos, not the girls. I mean Samantha is cute, but... you know what? Forget it.

As we continue to walk around, I begin to notice a couple of things. Some shops have human sized clothing along with the standard giant clothing. Some shops even say keep your human collared and bagged.

I can't help but grit my teeth. Right. Still a pet to these guys.

Even though I might as well have freedom living with Samantha, I'm still a pet to the rest of these people. Just another luxury item for the rich and wealthy. That's all I am and that's all I'll ever be. That's probably why Ashley has been sneaking glances at me this whole time. Just another reminder that I'm just a pet.

The girls enter the tailoring shop since Samantha finally decided that she'd go get a better shirt. Also Ashley did some pear pressuring. saying that she'd be there the whole time and that if anything happened or if Samantha ever felt uncomfortable then they'd leave.

Inside, there's rows upon rows of leather shoes, fine fur coats, along with socks, ties, suits, dresses, pants, and dress shirts. It's got a warm hue to it with the dark wood floor and walls. The ceiling though looks like it's in the middle of renovations so there's only pipes and wires for now.

This place is too fancy for me.

"Welcome back miss Gains." A man in a crimon red suit, comes walking up to the two girls. "What can I do for you?"

He's got curly brown hair and bright amber eyes, brighter then Samantha's.

"I need a few new button-ups for school, Sorress." Samantha explains.

The man nods and jestures to the back. "Right this way then."

A hand comes down into the pocket and plucks me out. I'm handed over to Ashley with ease.

"Be gentle with her, okay." Samantha says.

Ashley smiles brightly and gives Samantha a two figured salute. "You got it boss."

Samantha nods then turns her attention to me. "And you-"

"Don't be an ass, I know." I say.

"Well, that too, but if you see anything that you like, I'll get it for you." She says.

Samantha walks in the back with Sorress. I watch as she steps behind a curtain and disappears for the next few minutes.

Ashley is quick to set me on her shoulder and begin browsing through the clothes. The giantess and I keep to ourselves for about a minute before Ashely decides to open her mouth.

"So Caesar... have you been treating Sam nicely?" Ashley askes.

It's an odd first question and it catches me way off guard.

I remain silent, knowing that my answer will upset Ashley.

"So that's a no then." Ashley says as she moves onto another pile of clothes. "Sam has told me that you'd be difficult to handle, but from what I've heard, you're a handful at times."

"She should have thought of that before buying me." I say without thinking.

I instantly feel all the blood rush from my face. I have no idea how Ashley will react to my attitude unlike Samantha. She's still a wild card to me.

Ashley just laughs though. "That's exactly what Tex said when he and I had the same conversation." Tex. There is that name again. "I think at this point, Samantha has had bad luck with humans. I told her from the beginning that you weren't worth the headache and heartache, but she still pushes though."

I bite the inside of my cheek. Samantha has always known that I'd hard to deal with and she still pushed through, trying to make things better for me, even if I dont agree to all of her terms. And even then, her terms still have reasoning behind them. The way I've been treated by Samantha compaired to other giants and giantess is stellar. She sees me as a person and yet I have been taking her kindess for granted.

"Samantha has this way of seeing the good in people even if they don't see it themselves." Ashley says. "I think that's why she refuses to return you... that or you'll die if she does."

The giantess plucks a tiny out a red leather jacket for me to try on. "This seems more your style."

I look at the jacket for a moment then take it out of Ashley's hands. The jacket feels expencive simply from holding it, but I try it on anyway. It's a little big for me so a size down would be nice, but other then that, it's good... really good. I like it.

"It's nice," I say mindlessly. "It's a little big though."

"Here, I'll-"

"Did you see that girl in the back?" A woman says off to our left.

Ashley and I instantly stop what we are doing and turn to the woman. She's with her boyfriend it looks like. She's sift through the brouses while he stares blankly at his phone.

"Yes, babe, I did." The man responds, though he doesn't really seem to care about what she has to say.

"Then you saw her chest, right? Gods, I wonder what plastic surgen gave her that botched job." The woman said casually.

My heart rate has never shot up so quickly. Anger easily fills my viens and if my eyes could change color, they'd be red right now.

"Did you hear that." Ashley says. The tone in her voice is cold, freezing actually.

"Yep," I respond, arms crossed.

The two of us shoot the woman daggers, but she doesn't seem to notice and walks back to the changing room.

"How can she be such a bitch." Ashley growls under her breath. "I thought women would get past the stereo type of judging one another based on looks." She rambles angerly.

He rambling though falls on deaf ears while I look at the pipes above me. Then an idea clicked in my head from the mighty convience of the ceiling being under construction. The sprinklers will be easier to access

"I have an idea," I say confidently, cutting Ashley off. "Toss me up to the pipes."

Ashley looks at me in confusion then looks up at the pipes. It takes a second, but the idea clicks in her head when she sees the water sprinklers. When she looks back at me, she's got the widest grin I've ever seen.

"I like the way you think, Caesar."

"What can I say," I say with a casual shrug.

Ashley scoops me off her shoulder and tosses me up to the pipes. It takes a few tries, but I finally belly flop onto one. It takes some air out of me, but not enough to deter me from falling. Ashley waits and watches just in case if I fall.

I adjust myself and once I'm good, I give the girl a thumbs up before heading to the changing rooms. Climbing around on the pipes and wires reminds me of my time back in the woods, where I'd hop from tree to tree along with other wild things.

I easily spot the woman changing into some kind of shirt while she's still chatting with her boyfriend. And just as luck would have it, there's a sprinkler right above her head. I smile with satifcation.

On my way over to the woman, I spot another woman who seems to be changing. Samantha who looks like she's getting back into her clothes. She must have gotten done with her measurements.

I stop and stare in admiration. Maybe for a little too long since my jaw has dropped now.

Hey, genius. You have more important things to do.

Oh, yeah.

I snap out of it and continue to make my way over to the woman.

She's still chatting with her boyfriend while she switches to another shirt.

I'm right above her when I clamber on down to the water sprinkler. I give the spinkler a good kick, but nothing happens.

"Oh, come on." I grumble, now giving the thing an angry foot slam. The metal tip slips ever so slightly.

Bingo!

I repeat the action a couple of times, until I put all my weight and force into the last one. The sprinkler cap pops off and water pours through the tip like a fire hydrent. The waters soaks my shoes and the power nearly drags me down with the water.

I hold on though.

"AHHHHHHH!!!!!!" The woman screams in terror.

Down below, the woman is getting soaked as she tries to exit the fitting room. She has to barge through the door while only half dressed and drenched head to toe with water.

I smile, happy that there's been some justice served today.

I clamber back onto the pipes and scramble to make my way back to Ashley, at least that is who I'm aiming for. Instead, I slip on the pipe due to my watery shoes and I'm sent plummeting to the ground.

I flail around, hoping by some mericle my panicked flapping will slow my fall. It no use thou and I squeeze my eyes, ready to go splat.

Then nothingness.

I'm sure I've died now. I at least hoped that when I hit the ground, I'd be alive for a short amount of time just to get a tiny taste of the sheer pain from the fall. Instead the landing is soft. Too soft.

I crack open my eyes to darkness except for the tinies sliver of light coming above. My body isn't manged or harmed in any way. Hell, I feel very comfortable actually. I wouldn't mind staying for a bit longer.

But that also begs the question of what is this? What did I land in? How do I get out?

"Huh?"

The slightest sliver of light above is covered. Partial of a familiar face comes into view. Samantha's amber eye pearing down at me.

I breathe a sigh of relief. It's Samantha, that's good.

It's Samantha.... Looking down at me...

All of the sudden, it hits me. The mere idea hits me harder then I would have hit the ground and now that I realize the situation that I'm in, I'd much rather have hit the ground.

My face becomes bright red from embarassment as I sputter out. "H-hi."
